Chapter 109 Mrs. White

David snapped to attention and calmed down after Kayla's reminder.

"Roman gave this to me personally and said I had to come. We're all family; there's no need to fuss over small stuff," David said.

He emphasized "family", making sure everyone around heard.

Someone shot Jessica a teasing look and said, "Elaine, looks like Roman's big day is coming up!"

Before Elaine could respond, David chimed in cheerfully, "Not just yet!"

The single line convinced everyone that Roman and Jessica were getting married. They all smiled and offered congratulations.

"David, Elaine, if there's a wedding, make sure to invite us!"

David nodded, grinning proudly.

Elaine wanted to slap David. He had to be doing this on purpose! She could already imagine the gossip about Roman and Jessica after the banquet.

Seeing Elaine about to blow up, Olivia quickly stepped in. "Mr. Martin, why don't you head inside? We've got other guests to greet."

She then pulled Elaine away.

In a quiet spot, Elaine fumed. "The Martin family is doing this on purpose! They just want to latch onto the White family. If Jessica marries in, they'll be unbearable!"

Olivia tried to calm her, "Aunt Elaine, don't worry. Roman respects you. He won't marry Jessica without your approval."

Elaine was about to say more when a commotion broke out nearby.

Someone shouted, "Mr. White is here!"

Hearing Gregory had arrived, Elaine forgot her anger and quickly pulled Olivia outside.

Gregory's car pulled up to the hotel. Under everyone's watchful eyes, Gregory stepped out.

Tall and handsome in a custom black suit, he exuded an aura that made people hesitate to look directly at him.

Everyone stared, wondering who would greet him first.

To their surprise, Gregory extended his hand into the car with unexpected gentleness.

A pair of high heels stepped out, landing on the red carpet.

It was a woman!

Everyone craned their necks to see who it was.

Though Gregory's marriage wasn't a secret, few knew the details.

So, everyone was surprised and curious.

When Abigail stepped out, the noisy scene went silent.

She was stunning!

They thought Olivia and Jessica were beautiful, but this woman stole the show.

Most importantly, she stood confidently beside Gregory.

Gregory even offered his arm for her to hold.

Abigail felt all the admiring and envious stares, making her a bit nervous.

Sensing her unease, Gregory tightened his grip on her hand and gently stroked the back of it with his thumb to comfort her.

She looked into his eyes and felt more at ease, a shy smile forming on her lips.

Suddenly, someone in the crowd recognized her and blurted out, "Wasn't she dumped by Roman? What's she doing here?"

Gregory's dark eyes shot a cold glare at the speaker, who immediately shut up and backed away.

Seeing the person retreat, Gregory sneered, wrapped his arm around Abigail's waist, and pulled her close. "Let me introduce you. This is my wife, Abigail. Speak respectfully. Those who know me understand my methods. If I hear any disrespect..."

The crowd gasped.

"What?" someone said.

"Gregory's wife?" many muttered.

"When did this happen?" another asked.

No one had heard anything about it. They were too shocked to speak, staring blankly at Gregory and Abigail.

The person who had commented on Abigail was now trembling with fear.

As the head of the White family and CEO of the White Group, Gregory was known for his cold demeanor and ruthless methods. Anyone who crossed him never had a good end.

Thus, despite their questions, no one dared to voice them in Gregory's presence.

Abigail looked up at Gregory. Even in high heels, she only reached his shoulder. She could see his chiseled jawline and perfect profile.

Under the spotlight, he seemed to glow, exuding a mature and steady aura that made her heart race.

What moved Abigail the most was that, for the first time in years, someone had publicly declared that no one could bully her.

She used to hate these banquets. Kayla would give her outdated dresses and instruct the makeup artist to downplay her features, making Jessica look better by comparison. Whenever she resisted, Kayla would play the victim, crying to David.

Eventually, Abigail got tired of arguing. At these events, she always wished someone would stand by her side.

Now, that wish had come true. For the first time, she felt cherished and protected.

Gregory turned to look at her, his deep eyes filled with tenderness. When their eyes met, Abigail's heart pounded, and her cheeks flushed.

"Mr. White," she said softly, her fingers gently pinching the corner of his jacket, looking a bit uneasy.

"Don't be afraid," Gregory responded softly. He took her hand and walked inside with large strides.
