Chapter 96 An Intimate Relationship

Gregory finally straightened up after calming himself down.

He looked at Abigail and asked, "So, do you agree to my proposal?"

Abigail glanced at their joined hands, smiled slightly, and played dumb. "What proposal? What am I supposed to agree to?"

Gregory was momentarily thrown off but quickly caught on.

Abigail was getting clever; she knew how to tease him now.

He leaned in, trapping her in his arms. "Of course, to have sex. If not, how about starting tonight?"

Abigail was stunned, her eyes wide with disbelief.

She squeaked, "Mr. White, that's not what you said before. Didn't you say we should start by dating?"

She realized something was off as soon as she said it.

She looked up and saw Gregory's amused expression.

Gregory laughed, "Didn't you say you didn't remember?"

Abigail blushed and mumbled, "I really didn't remember just now, but now I do."

Her thoughts were written all over her face.

Gregory didn't call her out; he just nodded. "Really? So, can you give me an answer now?"

Abigail felt nervous.

Gregory knew her well, so he waited patiently.

After a while, Abigail finally nodded.

Gregory's tension melted away, replaced by joy. He pulled her into a tight hug. "Abigail, you agreed?"

"Yes." Abigail blushed and nodded again.

She had been hesitant for a long time, afraid of getting hurt.

But Gregory had made many concessions for her.

He had power and could have any woman, but he respected Abigail.

She wasn't sure if Gregory's feelings were love, but she didn't want to let him down, nor did she want future regrets.

Instead of retreating out of fear, she decided to face it.

If she won, it could be a lifetime of happiness. If she lost, she could walk away completely.

If Gregory ever hurt her, she wouldn't forgive him. She didn't want to live like Michelle, compromising for so-called love and getting hurt repeatedly.

She hugged Gregory back, feeling at ease with his scent.

With the misunderstanding resolved, her slight grudge against Gregory vanished.

Gregory's heart was in turmoil, though he didn't show it. If he weren't afraid of scaring her, he would have announced it to the world.

After a while, Abigail shyly lifted her head and asked, "Mr. White, what is our relationship now?"

Gregory kissed the corner of her lips and teased, "Of course, it's an intimate relationship."

Abigail glared playfully, "Who's intimate with you?"

Gregory grinned, "We've already kissed. Abigail, do you want to start something and not finish it, not take responsibility for me?"

Abigail quickly covered her swollen lips and stepped back. "Stop it, I'm not falling for your tricks!"

Gregory looked at his empty arms, a bit helpless. "Alright, I won't tease you anymore. What do you want to eat tonight? Let's go out and celebrate."

Abigail blinked, confused. "Celebrate what?"

Gregory took her hand, kissed her forehead, and smiled. "Celebrate the big step forward in our relationship."

Understanding his meaning, Abigail smiled, her eyes sparkling with laughter.

After they left, Jessica and Roman looked extremely displeased.

Roman couldn't believe Gregory, such a busy and important man, would come to the school just for Abigail.

As the president of the White Group, Gregory's schedule was always packed. This presentation was clearly a last-minute thing, probably because Abigail wanted to flaunt their relationship.

Roman never realized Abigail could be so scheming and vain.

Jessica, with bloodshot eyes, threw herself into Roman's arms and sobbed softly. "What should I do? Now the whole school forum is cursing me, saying I seduced you and broke up you and my sister."

Hearing her cry so sadly, Roman felt even worse. He held Jessica tightly, constantly comforting her. "Don't worry, I'll make things right for you. You're the woman I love most, and nothing anyone says will change that."

Jessica sniffled, looking at Roman with tearful eyes, full of gratitude. "Roman, you're so good to me, but since we're not married, it's normal for people to scold me."

Seeing Jessica's troubled expression, Roman felt another pang of heartache. He made a firm decision and said, "Jessica, I'll take you to meet my grandmother. Once she sees how great you are, she'll accept you!"

Jessica's eyes lit up, almost screaming in excitement. She had just wanted to play the victim to make Roman feel more sorry for her, to cherish her more. She hadn't expected such a pleasant surprise.

She tried to hide her excitement, pretending to be worried. "But will Grace and Elaine accept me? I'm a little scared."

This was also Roman's biggest concern, but looking at Jessica's hopeful eyes, he couldn't say no.

He said confidently, "No, my grandmother is reasonable, and you're much better than Abigail. She'll definitely accept you."

In truth, he felt guilty saying this. Grace had always been clear about not liking Jessica. Plus, with Abigail married to Mr. White, it was impossible for Jessica to marry him.

But since he had already said it, he had to follow through.

So, he drove Jessica to the White family residence.

On the way, they passed a mall, and Jessica bought a lot of expensive supplements. Though it hurt to spend the money, she believed it was worth it. She was sure that if she performed well, she could outshine Abigail.
