Chapter 479 The Whereabouts of Caius
Feeling dizzy and as if her whole body was being roasted, Abigail had no idea how much time had passed. Nearly out of breath when Gregory reluctantly let her go, she noticed his deep eyes sparkling with a hot, vibrant light.
Leaning against Gregory's shoulder, Abigail's chest heaving violently as if she had been harshly bullied—an even more enticing look than before.
Gregory's Adam's apple moved slightly, his gaze falling on Abigail's full and rosy lips, his eyes growing increasingly heated.
Sensing his intention, Abigail glared at him fiercely, covering her lips with the back of her hand and warning in a low voice, "Don't even think about it."
Gregory thought it was a pity but knew not to overdo it, so he reluctantly looked away.
Seeing that he was no longer making any moves, Abigail finally breathed a sigh of relief. "By the way, has Dad contacted you in the past few days? I haven't seen him in a long time."
After returning to Aramore together, Caius hadn't contacted them, leaving his whereabouts unknown.
Gregory shook his head slightly. "No, you're his daughter. If he hasn't contacted you, why would he reach out to me?"
Abigail nodded lightly, acknowledging the point.
She couldn't help but sigh and said, "I called Caius today, but I couldn't get through. Mom also said she couldn't reach him and was worried something might have happened to him."
Gregory gently patted her back, soothing her in a low voice, "Don't worry, I'll have Leo look for him right away."
"Okay." Abigail nodded. Caius was not the type to be easily bullied. If he were in danger, he would have contacted them.
The next morning, after a meeting, Abigail noticed several missed calls from Gregory on her phone.
Worried, she quickly called back. "Gregory, what's wrong? Why so urgent?"
"Nothing much, just that we've contacted Dad. He's with me now," said Gregory.
Abigail quickly responded, "Okay, I'll come over right away."
She called the driver, asking him to hurry and take her to the White Group.
Caius sat cross-legged on the sofa at the White Group, looking somewhat displeased. "I was handling important matters. Why did you bring me here?"
Gregory stood in front of him, looking down with an inscrutable expression. "You've been out of touch for so long. Do you want Abigail and Mom to worry?"
Caius coughed awkwardly, explaining, "I didn't mean to not contact them. I was in a mountainous area with no signal. What could I do?"
"Dad, is there anything you can't accomplish if you set your mind to it?" Gregory easily saw through his lie. "So, where exactly did you go?"
Caius had never felt so embarrassed in his life and was momentarily speechless.
But he knew that everything Gregory said was for Abigail's good.
He sighed deeply and revealed what he had been up to, "Recently, I heard about a shaman who specializes in health treatments and might be able to cure Michelle's illness."
"Did you find him?" Gregory asked.
Caius shook his head, looking somewhat dejected. "No, the shaman happened to be out, so I had to keep waiting."
Talking about this made Caius angry because he realized he had stayed so long because he had been played!
The shaman's daughter said the doctor would be back soon and asked him to wait a few more days.
Then she said he should show his sincerity by helping out, so he spent several days assisting with herbal preparations.
Fortunately, Caius was skilled with herbs and handled the work well. He stayed until now, but after organizing everything, the girl said the shaman wouldn't be back for another two weeks.
If it weren't for the fact that the girl was only in her teens and he didn't want to argue with a child, he would have left long ago.
Gregory was silent for a moment, his anger dissipating somewhat. "If that's the case, I have nothing more to say. You'll have to explain to them."
Caius looked at him in shock. "What? You already snitched?"
"Yes, is there a problem?" Gregory spread his hands, smiling meaningfully. "Abigail is on her way. You can't escape now."
Hearing this, Caius, who had just stood up to leave, froze.
He gritted his teeth, angrily saying, "Gregory, you did this on purpose!"
"Yes, you just figured that out?" Gregory chuckled, his thin lips curling slightly.
Caius took a deep breath, trying to suppress his anger, planning to leave before Abigail arrived.
However, after taking just two steps, he saw Abigail storming in angrily. "Dad!"
Abigail glared at him, hands on her hips, demanding, "Where have you been these past few days? Why haven't we heard a word from you?"
