Chapter 432 It's Better to Watch Others Fall in Love

Abigail and Gregory exchanged a glance and sighed softly.

"So stay here tonight. We can discuss everything tomorrow," Abigail suggested.

Caius nodded, his bruised pride softening a little. He took back his earlier thoughts; Abigail could be dependable when it truly mattered.

Caius said, "You two should rest early as well. Abigail is pregnant, and staying up late isn't good for you."

"Alright, we'll keep that in mind." After escorting Caius to the guest room, Abigail clasped Gregory's hand tightly and returned to their room.

The next morning, they drove Caius to White Manor. Michelle was in the yard, carefully watering the flowers, with Grace watching from a nearby rocking chair, smiling fondly. The sunlight bathed Michelle in a warm glow, making her appear almost otherworldly.

Caius halted abruptly, his eyes softening as he stared at her. His deep gaze radiated a mixture of longing and devotion.

Abigail smirked at him and teased, "After all these years, you're still staring at her like that?"

"Never enough. Michelle is the most stunning woman I've ever laid eyes on. No one else even comes close." Caius admitted without hesitation.

Then, Caius walked toward Michelle, his steps deliberate but quick. "Michelle."

Michelle paused for a moment before lifting her head. When her eyes met Caius's, there was a flicker of surprise. "What are you doing here?"

Caius just closed the gap between them, wrapping his arms around her tightly.

He said, "Do you know how terrified I was when I realized you weren't home? How could you leave without saying anything to me?"

Michelle felt the slight tremor in Caius's body and couldn't help but sigh. "I just wanted to clear my head. If you had known, you wouldn't have let me go."

"And that's why you didn't answer my calls?" Caius's voice carried a hint of restrained frustration.

Michelle glanced away, slightly guilty. "I just wanted some quiet time. I didn't mean to make you worry."

Caius's expression darkened, and just as he was about to respond angrily, Michelle tugged on his sleeve gently, her voice soft. "Alright, I was wrong. Don't be mad, okay?"

Instantly, Caius's anger dissipated like air escaping a balloon.

"You know I can't stay mad at you," he murmured.

Michelle smiled, rising onto her toes to place a light kiss on his cheek. "Still angry?"

Caius laughed softly, cupping the back of her head as he kissed her deeply.

Abigail quickly covered her eyes, her cheeks flushing, but curiosity got the better of her, and she peeked through her fingers moments later.

Seeing her parents kiss, she let out a squeal of delight.

Gregory frowned, clearly displeased, and moved to block her view with his hand. "What are you looking at? If you're so interested in kissing, why don't you focus on me instead?"

Before Abigail could retort, Gregory gently lifted her chin, tilting her face toward his. His cool lips brushed against hers in a sudden kiss.

Abigail's cheeks burned red, the blush creeping to the tips of her ears. She tried to push him away, but Gregory's strong arms circled her waist, holding her firmly in place.

Grace watched the couple with a wry smile, shaking her head. Young people these days were so unabashed with their affections. Yet, she couldn't help but feel a warm contentment. This was the harmony she wished for in life.

Caius and Michelle quickly resolved their misunderstanding. Caius held her hand and declared earnestly, "You're the only woman I've ever loved or touched in my life. I can swear on that."

Michelle gave him a pointed look, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. "Who knows if that's true? After all, we haven't always been together every minute of every year."

Caius responded by pulling her closer and whispering in her ear, "My body only ever responds to you."

Michelle's cheeks flushed a deep crimson as she pushed against his chest, her voice barely above a whisper, "You're too old to be saying things like that!"

Caius caught her hand and pressed a tender kiss to her wrist, his voice filled with affection. "No matter how old I get, my love for you will never fade."

At noon, they stayed for lunch at White Manor. With Stephen and his family gone, the villa felt emptier than ever, and Grace's only company was the household staff. Today's liveliness made it all the more special.

Grace instructed the chef to prepare a feast of exquisite dishes.

Michelle glanced at Caius, smiling warmly. "You should try the food here. The chef is incredible."

"Alright," Caius replied with a grin.

As they ate, Grace turned to Abigail, her expression maternal. "How are you feeling, dear? Everything going smoothly with the pregnancy?"

Abigail nodded with a serene smile, her hand resting on her belly. "Everything's perfect, Mom. Gregory's been taking great care of me."

"Good, good," Grace replied, relief evident in her eyes. "I heard you're expecting twins. That's such a blessing."

Abigail's eyes sparkled as she gently caressed her growing bump. "It's truly a gift from god."

Grace's eyes misted over, her emotions barely contained. "Hearing this fills me with so much joy. Seeing you all happy is enough for me."

Abigail leaned forward, her voice playful. "Mom, you'll have two babies calling you grandma soon. How does that sound?"

Grace chuckled, dabbing at her eyes with a napkin. "It sounds like heaven."

Suddenly, Michelle turned to Caius, concern flickering in her gaze. "Can you check on Grace's health? She;s been weaker than usual lately, and we can't figure out why."

"Of course," Caius said, immediately setting aside his utensils.

The room fell quiet as Caius carefully examined Grace. Abigail and Gregory watched intently, the air thick with anticipation.

But as Caius's expression turned more serious, a palpable tension filled the room.

Abigail broke the silence, her voice tinged with worry, "Dad, is everything alright?"

Caius withdrew his hand, his brows furrowed deeply. "The situation is complicated. Grace, I need to ask you some questions."

Grace nodded calmly, her demeanor composed. "Go ahead."

Caius's voice was steady but firm, "Were you ever injured severely in the past?"

Grace nodded faintly.

Caius asked, "Did you also suffer from poisoning? A significant one?"

Grace's eyes widened slightly in surprise. "You can tell?"

Gregory interjected, his tone uneasy, "Mom, when did this happen? Why have I never heard of it?"

Grace's gaze grew distant, her voice soft. "It was before you were born. Your father had many women around him, all vying for his attention. One of them poisoned me, hoping to take my place."

Grace survived by sheer luck.
