Chapter 119 Refusing to Answer the Phone

Rex saw her crying and started to believe her.

He sighed and said, "If you two really love each other, clear up the misunderstanding. You need to reconcile with Gregory. He's our future business partner!"

Rex felt uneasy. What if Gregory took out his anger on the Jewel Summit Group because of Olivia?

But he couldn't blame Olivia. If she was telling the truth, they needed this relationship to secure a deal with the White Group.

In the end, Rex just sighed and kept reminding Olivia to stay on good terms with Gregory.

Olivia didn't even get a chance to speak before she was kicked out of the office.

She was in a difficult position. If Rex discovered that Gregory had never liked her, she could lose her job.

She felt stifled and frustrated, not knowing what to do.

After calming down, Olivia went to the restroom and called Gregory.

But after just two rings, Gregory hung up.

Unwilling to give up, she called again, but each time, he ended the call. It was clear that Gregory did not want to answer her calls.

Holding her phone, Olivia paced anxiously back and forth in the restroom.

At that moment, Elizabeth emerged and saw Olivia making calls with visible agitation.

"Calling Mr. White again?" Elizabeth sneered.

"What does it have to do with you?" Olivia shot her a cold glance and opened WhatsApp to message Gregory, trying to invite him to dinner.

Elizabeth turned on the faucet, washing her hands while looking at Olivia through the mirror. "Olivia, I never knew you were so vain."

Although Olivia frequently wore designer clothes and carried limited-edition bags, Elizabeth was surprised by the extent of her ambition—daring even to pursue the White Group's CEO!

She continued, "Let me give you some advice. Mr. White is already married and clearly not interested in you. Pursuing him will only make you lose more dignity. You should know your place."

"I think you're just jealous of me." Olivia snorted coldly, not wanting to waste any more words with Elizabeth, and turned to leave the restroom.

...

Olivia was restless the entire afternoon because Gregory not only didn't answer her calls but also didn't reply to her messages.

If it were just that, she could deceive herself into thinking Gregory was too busy to see the messages.

But the latest message didn't even go through.

When she clicked send, a red exclamation mark popped up in the chat box, saying, [The recipient is not your friend yet. Please enable verification...]

Seeing this, Olivia was furious.

She couldn't stay calm anymore and grabbed her bag, leaving the company.

More than half an hour later, the cab dropped Olivia off at the entrance of the White Group. She hurriedly prepared to enter, but as soon as she reached the lobby, the receptionist stopped her.

"Ma'am, may I ask what you're here for? Please register first," the receptionist asked.

Olivia paused and quickly said, "Hello, I'm here to see Gregory, your CEO."

The receptionist was momentarily stunned, then gave a polite smile. "Do you have an appointment? Without an appointment, the CEO won't see you."

"We grew up together. Do I still need an appointment? I was here yesterday. Don't you remember?" Olivia was anxious.

The receptionist maintained her smile. "Sorry, ma'am, I'm a temp. I wasn't here yesterday."

Olivia's face darkened. "I'm a designer from the Jewel Summit Group. I have urgent business with your CEO. If this delays our cooperation, can you take responsibility?"

The receptionist hesitated. If Olivia was telling the truth and something went wrong, she might lose her job.

She thought for a moment and said, "I'll call the CEO's office."

She quickly connected the internal line.

A deep voice answered, "Yes?"

The receptionist explained the situation and asked, "Sir, there's a Ms. Parker here to discuss cooperation. Would you like to see her?"

"No, tell her I've said everything I needed to. For cooperation matters, let Rex talk to me." Gregory hung up.

Hearing this, Olivia left the White Group in despair.

But it wasn't over.

In the afternoon, Rex called.

As soon as the call connected, Rex angrily questioned, "Olivia, what did you do? I just called the White Group, and the person in charge was noticeably cold."

Olivia was shocked and thought of her morning visit.

She didn't dare mention it and vaguely said, "What? How could that be? I don't know anything about it!"

Rex sneered. "I told you to talk to Mr. White and ease the relationship. Did you go? How did it go? You're useless."

Hearing Rex's scolding, Olivia felt extremely wronged.

Her eyes reddened, and she bit her lip hard, a trace of resentment flashing in her gaze.

Everyone was oppressing and humiliating her because of their status!

Even a small company supervisor dared to yell at her!

If she were Gregory's wife, they wouldn't dare treat her like this.

The more she thought about it, the more unwilling she felt. After hanging up, Olivia held her phone and couldn't help but cry.

The café waiter saw her crying and thought she had broken up or was feeling unwell, so they quickly asked if she needed help.

Unexpectedly, Olivia threw her phone at the waiter, shouting, "Get lost!"

Fortunately, the waiter dodged quickly, or they would have been hit by the phone.

Seeing her ungratefulness, the waiter was also angry and said coldly, "Ma'am, I was concerned about you out of kindness. There are cameras in the store. I can sue you for intentional harm."

Upon hearing this, Olivia's rationality returned.

She quickly wiped her tears, picked up the phone, and took out cash from her bag, placing it on the table. "Consider this your medical fee. Is it enough?"

Watching her leave, the waiter felt baffled.

Other staff gathered and whispered, "Who is that woman? She's so arrogant, but she sure spends money generously."
