Chapter 204 Heartbreak

Even after they got together, Tom remained distant. They never had any intimate moments, not even basic kisses like most couples do.

The only time they were close was when she initiated a hug. But it didn't take long for Tom to make an excuse and leave.

Back then, she was so caught up in the love bubble that she didn't notice anything off, thinking he was just too busy.

Now she realized that in this relationship, she was always the one giving. Tom would respond when he felt like it, but ignore her when he didn't.

And she, like a fool, still held onto unrealistic fantasies about him.

Seeing the eyes around them, Tom couldn't help but frown, his voice serious. "Tricia, not the right spot for this chat. Let's hit up a nearby café." He reached out to grab Tricia's wrist.

Tricia quickly stepped back, avoiding his hand.

"What? Are you embarrassed? Why no shame when you were messing with my feelings?" Tricia demanded.

Tom's hand fell short, a trace of coldness flashing in his eyes. "What exactly do you want?"

Tricia sneered, pulling a report from her bag and throwing it in Tom's face. Her eyes were cold as she said, "This ain't about what I want, it's about you taking a good look at what you've done!"

Although Tricia was drunk when they were intimate, since they were in a romantic relationship, he should take responsibility.

Tom took the paper down, glanced at it, and his face instantly changed.

Holding it tightly, he stayed silent for a while.

In Tricia's eyes, his reaction seemed like guilt, leaving him speechless.

Tricia mocked, crossing her arms and looking at Tom. "Now you have nothing to say? Tom, I didn't show you this report to cause trouble. I just wanna know why you're suddenly talking about breaking up."

She just wanted a reason, torn between her deep feelings for Tom and her own pride.

He was the one who said they should be together, and now he was the one who wanted to break up without a word.

When Abigail arrived, she happened to hear the last sentence.

She quickly walked over, standing between the two, shielding Tricia behind her, and looked at Tom with a wary expression. "Tom, Tricia likes you so much, why are you treating her like this?"

Tom opened his mouth but couldn't say a word. He had no way to explain this.

He returned to the country to get close to Gregory, but Gregory's dominance and constant entourage made it difficult.

At that time, he accidentally discovered that Gregory always followed a girl after work.

That girl was Abigail.

After investigating, he found out that Abigail was a student at Aramore University, so he fabricated an identity and got into the campus clinic.

But after staying there for a few months, he still didn't get a chance to approach Abigail.

Until that time, Tricia got hurt.

His initial plan was to use Tricia to reach Abigail, but unexpectedly, Tricia ended up falling for him.

So, he had to agree to Tricia's pursuit and finally got to meet Gregory.

But he never had any intimate relationship with Tricia, so where did the kid come from?

In a daze, some fragmented memories suddenly flashed through Tom's mind.

One day before they officially confirmed their relationship, he met Tricia at a hotel. Tricia's cheeks were flushed, and she looked at him with shy, infatuated eyes. From that day on, Tricia became more proactive in asking him out and finding various topics to chat with him about.

It felt like something exploded in his mind!

Seeing Tom not speaking, Abigail frowned and said sternly, "Tom, I don't care what your intentions are, but Tricia is innocent. You shouldn't deceive her feelings!"

Tom came back to his senses, his expression a bit dazed. In the end, he didn't say a word and turned to leave the company.

Watching Tom's departing figure, Tricia showed a worried expression. "Abigail, he didn't look right. Do you think something might happen to him?"

Abigail glared at her. "What? He treated you like that, and you're still thinking about him?"

Tricia felt a bit aggrieved, her eyes starting to well up, and she slowly lowered her head, feeling down. "After all, I really liked him. How can I just forget?"

She raised her hand, gently touching her flat belly and thinking, 'Baby, I'm sorry. Mom just found out about your existence, and now you've lost your dad.'

Seeing her in such a dejected state, Abigail felt a pang of sadness.

She stepped forward, hugged Tricia tightly, gently stroking her back, and softly comforted her, "It's okay, everything will get better."

With this comfort, Tricia's grievances suddenly surged. She couldn't hold back and started crying loudly.

Abigail said, "Come on, it's just a breakup. I don't think Tom is a good person. We'll find someone thousands of times better than him in the future, okay?"

Tricia cried so hard she almost choked, her throat sore and her makeup ruined.

Hearing this, she slowly raised her head, sniffling, and said, "It's easy for you to say. All men in this world are the same, each worse than the last. I will never believe in love again!"

Seeing her pitiful look, Abigail couldn't help but laugh.

She took out a pack of tissues from her bag, wiping the tears from Tricia's cheeks, and softly coaxed, "How could that be? Tricia, you're beautiful and have a great personality. There will definitely be many boys who like you. Stop crying, your makeup is ruined."

Tricia stood still, letting Abigail gently wipe her tears. Suddenly, she thought of something and laughed.

Abigail curiously asked, "Why are you laughing now?"

Tricia wiped her tears and slowly shook her head. "It's nothing, I just feel like you've matured a lot, like you've suddenly grown up."

Abigail was stunned for a moment, then laughed too. "After all that, how could I not grow up?"

Thinking of Abigail's experiences, Tricia felt a pang of heartache. She hugged Abigail again, snuggling into her arms.

Feeling the softness and warmth from Abigail, Tricia couldn't help but shout, "Abigail, I wish you were a guy. If I'm left with no one later on, you're marrying me!"

Gregory, who had rushed over to pick up Abigail and happened to hear this, remained silent.
