Chapter 13 Memories

Abigail's mind raced as she tried to recall the events of the previous night, but she couldn't. Looking at Gregory, she cautiously asked, "Gregory, I didn't do anything outrageous after getting drunk last night, did I?"

Abigail had heard tales of inebriation driving people to madness, and the mere idea constricted her breath. Recalling the moment she grasped his hand, complimenting his handsome features, a wave of tension washed over her.
Gregory smiled and replied, "No, you didn't do anything. Don't worry."

Abigail breathed a sigh of relief. She felt lucky that nothing had happened. However, Gregory suddenly added, "You just clung to me all night, and you ended up throwing up on me."

All night?
"What's going on here?" It was Gregory. He had come downstairs after Abigail and overheard their conversation.

Abigail turned around and saw Gregory, her heart racing. She didn't know what to say. Gregory looked at the man with a mix of anger and confusion.

"Who the hell are you?" Gregory demanded.

The man hesitated for a moment before answering, "I'm Michael. Gregory's brother."

Abigail's eyes widened in surprise. She had no idea that Gregory had a brother.

Gregory clenched his fists, his face turning red. "What are you doing here, Michael? And why are you wearing my shirt?"

Michael shifted uncomfortably, avoiding Gregory's gaze. "I came here to see you, but I didn't expect to find her wearing your shirt."

Abigail felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her. She quickly explained, "I just borrowed it. I didn't think anyone would be here."

Gregory's anger seemed to dissipate slightly, replaced by a sense of resignation. He sighed heavily and said, "Fine, just give it back to me."

Abigail nodded, her cheeks burning. She handed the shirt back to Gregory, who took it silently.

Michael watched the exchange with curiosity and confusion. He couldn't understand what was happening, but he knew it was best to leave them alone.

"I'll go now," Michael said, stepping back towards the door. "I didn't mean to cause any trouble."

Gregory didn't say anything, but his expression softened slightly. He nodded at Michael, acknowledging his departure.

As soon as the door closed behind Michael, Abigail turned to Gregory, her voice trembling. "I'm sorry. I didn't know he was your brother."

Gregory sighed again, this time with a hint of sadness. "It's not your fault. I should have told you about him."

Abigail looked down at the floor, feeling guilty. "I didn't mean to upset you."

Gregory reached out and gently lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him. "It's not your fault, Abigail. I should have been honest with you," he said.

Abigail nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. "I didn't expect any of this."

Gregory pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly. "I know, and I'm sorry. But we can get through this together."

Abigail nodded again, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that whatever challenges they faced, they would face them as a team.
"Henry, who allowed you to come here?"
Upon hearing the familiar voice, Henry instinctively shrugged his shoulders and turned, wearing an awkward smile.
"Hello, Gregory."
Giving Henry a cold glance, Gregory stood in front of Abigail and became gentle.
"Since it's the weekend, why don't you get some more sleep?"
Abigail had been out in the rain last night and felt dizzy as she had just woken up.
Abigail became sluggish and pointed at Henry. "I've slept enough. Who is he?"
Henry was about to introduce himself, but Gregory introduced him, saying, "He is Henry Clark from the Clark family."
Gregory's introduction was simple and casual as if he believed Henry was not worth paying attention to.
When introducing Abigail, Gregory became serious. "She is Abigail Martin, my wife. Show her some respect!"
Henry covered his chest and complained sadly, "Gregory, why did you introduce me so casually? Abigail, hello. I'm Henry Clark. I am one of his best friends."
While Henry was speaking, Gregory grabbed Henry's collar with his big, dry hand.
Immediately, Henry was pulled away from Abigail uncontrollably.
Jealous Gregory warned in a low voice, "Don't get too close to her when you speak."
Henry adjusted his collar and winked at Gregory. "Gregory, tell me honestly when you get together. You're good at keeping secrets."
Gregory coldly said, "I'll explain later. If you're okay, you can leave now."
Henry sneered but had no intention of leaving. On the contrary, Henry continued to ask, "Isn't she madly in love with her silly fiancé? When did you deceive her and bring her back to your place?"
Abigail was both beautiful and had a hot figure.
But Henry thought Abigail had poor taste because she liked that jerk Roman.
However, there is still time for Abigail to improve her taste now!
After all, Gregory is a well-known wealthy bachelor. His looks, physique, power, and status are top-notch.
Gregory looked at Henry coldly and said, "Are you free? Do you still want that limited-edition sports car?"
Henry was shocked and quickly said, "Yes! I'll leave right away! You two take your time getting to know each other. You can invite us for a meal another day!"
Henry quickly turned and went downstairs because he was afraid of missing out on the limited edition sports car.
Before leaving, Henry waved to Abigail. "Abigail, goodbye! I'll invite you for a meal another day!"
"You look stunning," Abigail complimented, a smile playing on her lips. Gregory returned the smile, his eyes softening as he looked at her.
"Breakfast is ready. Go downstairs. I'll change," Gregory said in a gentle tone.
"Alright," Abigail agreed, making her way downstairs only to find several people moving things into the mansion.
Ralph, standing in the living room, was directing the movers. "Be careful! Mrs. White is resting!"
Abigail's curiosity got the better of her, and she stepped closer to Ralph, asking, "Ralph, what's going on?"
Ralph respectfully answered, "Mrs. White, Mr. White said your luggage was too little, so he asked me to buy some daily necessities for you."
Abigail looked surprised at the small mountain of boxes.
Daily necessities?
This is too much!
Seeing Abigail's thoughts, Ralph smiled and said, "Mrs. White, please open them."
Driven by curiosity, Abigail opened one of the boxes. The dazzling jewelry inside almost blinded her.
The boxes contained all kinds of jewelry, including diamonds, pearls, and more. Abigail opened another box to find limited-edition branded handbags.
Ralph explained, "In addition to these, the clothes and shoes are also the latest in fashion. Mr. White said you deserve the best."
Abigail bit her lip, worried, and said, "These are too valuable, so I can't accept them. Ralph, have them returned."
Abigail and Gregory had an agreement to marry, so she felt ashamed to accept these things.
Ralph disagreed and said, "You don't have to worry about the money. Mr. White has nothing but money.
"Besides, as Mr. White's wife, you have to attend various parties. If you don't have decent clothes and jewelry, Mr. White would also be embarrassed."
Abigail opened her mouth but couldn't refuse.
Staring at the millions of dollars worth of items, Abigail let out a sigh.
Even if Abigail changed outfits and wore jewelry every day, she estimated she couldn't use them all in a year.
Abigail thought, "Is this the trouble of being a wealthy person?"
