Chapter 297 Forced Abortion
At this moment, Elaine suddenly walked out of the room, frowning, and asked, "What's going on? Don't you know I'm entertaining guests?"
Jessica's eyes lit up, and she quickly shouted, "Mom, it's me, Jessica! These two maids wouldn't let me in. You should fire them right away!"
Elaine was taken aback. "Jessica? Why are you back?"
Jessica thought Elaine was concerned about her, and her eyes immediately reddened. "Mom, you have no idea what I've been through at the police station. I'm so glad to be out now. Mom, I missed you so much."
Although Elaine was known for her strong and determined personality and always looked down on Jessica, after being locked up at the police station for so long, Jessica now felt close to anyone she saw.
She looked at Elaine eagerly, hoping for some pity and comfort.
However, Elaine sneered and mocked, "Jessica, since you're back, find some time to get a divorce quickly."
"What?" Jessica's eyes widened in disbelief.
"I said, get the divorce papers done with Roman as soon as possible," Elaine said, looking at Jessica with disdain.
Jessica, who had a decent appearance but was spoiled and willful with no redeeming qualities, was not fit to be Roman's wife.
Jessica's eyes quickly reddened, and her body swayed. "I won't divorce him. How can you treat me like this? I'm carrying Roman's child!"
Elaine raised an eyebrow, her eyes full of coldness. "You just reminded me. Since you're getting a divorce, the child should be terminated too."
Roman was not infertile. Before Ms. Thorne married into the family, there could be no illegitimate children.
Otherwise, the Thorne family would never let them off!
Jessica bit her lip, unable to believe Elaine could be so heartless.
The White family only had Roman as a grandson, and Abigail's belly had shown no signs of pregnancy.
This meant that the child in her belly could very well inherit the White family's fortune in the future.
How could she bear to terminate this child?
"I don't believe Roman would betray me. Let Roman come out and see me!" She covered her slightly bulging belly, took a few steps back, and her eyes were full of vigilance.
At this moment, a slender, beautiful woman with a gentle demeanor walked out of the living room, asking, "Aunt Elaine, what's going on?"
Jessica looked at the young woman in shock and questioned, "Who are you? Why are you here?"
The young woman glanced at her and then asked Elaine, "Aunt Elaine, who is this?"
Elaine's eyes flickered, hiding her guilt, and explained, "Rachel, don't misunderstand. I'll have Roman cut ties with her immediately. It won't affect you two being together."
Rachel looked Jessica up and down a few more times and quickly understood. "So you're Roman's ex-wife. I've heard a lot about you. I'm Rachel, Roman's fiancée."
Jessica was shocked again.
'Rachel? Ms. Thorne from the Thorne family? How could this be?'
Jessica demanded, "No matter who you are, Roman and I are not divorced. What right do you have to call yourself his fiancée?"
Rachel replied, "Not divorced yet? That's okay. There's still time to get divorced now. I would never be the other woman."
This sentence was ostensibly directed at Jessica but was actually meant for Elaine.
Elaine's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly nodded in agreement. "Rachel, don't worry. I promise to resolve this matter quickly and not let you suffer any grievances!"
Seeing Elaine's attitude, Jessica angrily said, "Dream on if you think you can replace me as Mrs. White of the White family!"
Rachel frowned slightly, took two steps back, and said disdainfully, "With your unreasonable behavior, replacing you is a piece of cake."
She had heard that Roman had given up his engagement for Jessica and was even kicked out of the White family by Gregory.
Before meeting Jessica, she thought she was a scheming woman.
But now, it seemed she was nothing special!
Hearing Rachel's words, Jessica was furious and rushed forward, intending to slap Rachel.
Rachel didn't have time to dodge, and her face was slapped to the side.
A red mark quickly appeared on Rachel's face.
She covered her face, screamed, and a fierce light flashed in her eyes. But the next second, she realized something and quickly restrained her expression, crying aggrievedly.
"Ms. Martin, I just said I love Roman and didn't intend to compete with you. Why did you do this to me?" Rachel asked.
Jessica hadn't figured out why Rachel's attitude suddenly changed when an angry shout came from behind her, "Jessica, what are you doing?"
Hearing the familiar voice, Jessica's shoulders shook violently, and she turned around instinctively.
Seeing the Roman she had been longing for, Jessica's tears immediately fell.
She quickly ran over, her grievances pouring out. "Roman, you're finally back. I missed you so much."
But this time, Roman didn't hug her as she expected. Instead, he walked past her and stood in front of Rachel. "Ms. Thorne, are you okay?"
Rachel's eyes were red. Although she was aggrieved, she stubbornly shook her head. "I'm fine. Please don't blame Ms. Martin."
Hearing this, Roman's face darkened, and he glared at Jessica angrily. "Apologize!"
"What did you say?" Jessica was full of disbelief.
She had thought that after coming out of the police station, she would be welcomed by Roman's warm embrace and love.
But Roman's eyes were full of disgust and impatience.
She couldn't understand why things had changed so much in just a few days.
"Roman, she tried to seduce you and said she wanted to replace me as your wife. That's why I hit her. Don't be fooled by her innocent appearance!" Jessica exclaimed.
Roman said, "Shut up! Apologize!"
He wasn't blind. He had seen it when he came in. Jessica had provoked her on purpose.
Rachel was so gentle and understanding. How could she say such things?
Jessica must be lying!
He was so disappointed in her!
Jessica bit her lip, and her tears fell like broken beads.
She pushed Roman hard and shouted angrily, "I did nothing wrong. I won't apologize. Rachel tried to seduce you and wants me to have a miscarriage! Are you blind? Can't you see such a poor performance?"
However, Roman was convinced she was being unreasonable. He frowned and scolded, "Jessica, if you don't apologize, we'll get a divorce!"
