Chapter 210 In What Way Am I Inferior to Gregory

Abigail was floored, like her brain just short-circuited. "What did you just say?"

Abigail thought, 'How could the baby in Tricia's belly not be Tom's? Tricia may be a bit lovestruck, but she definitely won't fool around.'

Tom saw the shock in her eyes and calmly explained, "I wasn't the guy that night."

Abigail was still reeling, her mouth open, but no words came out.

Tom seemed pleased with her reaction. He leaned in and whispered, "So, all your worries are pointless. If you want, I'll whisk you away to a new life."

"You're nuts!" Abigail shoved him away, laughing coldly. "I'm not interested, and besides, I'm married."

Tom didn't seem to care. "Married? You can get divorced. I can take you away from Gregory if you want."

Abigail found this hilarious, her eyes turning mocking. "What makes you think you're better than Gregory? Why would I ever choose you?"

Tom's face darkened, and he grabbed her by the neck. "Say that again if you dare!"

As she struggled to breathe, Abigail's cheeks turned red. She gritted her teeth and said, "No matter how many times I say it, in my heart, you'll never compare to Gregory."

Tom's brow furrowed, and his grip tightened.

Just as Abigail was about to pass out, Tom snapped back to reality. Panic flashed in his eyes, and he quickly let go. "I..."

He wanted to explain, but before he could, Abigail slapped him hard, turning his face to the side.

Abigail blurted out furiously, "Tom, you're hopeless! If you didn't love Tricia, you shouldn't have messed with her. She's innocent, falling for a jerk like you!"

A strange look crossed Tom's face, but he quickly hid it. "Ms. Martin, you should worry about yourself," he said.

Abigail was confused. "What do you mean?"

Before she could finish, Tom stepped closer.

Abigail panicked and stepped back, but soon her back hit the desk, leaving her no escape.

Tom chuckled, his tall figure looming over her. "Didn't you ask what I really want? I'll tell you now."

Abigail looked up. "What?"

Tom didn't answer but leaned in close.

Abigail was startled and tried to push him away, but before she could, the door was pushed open from outside.

"Ms. Martin," Susan called out. She and several department heads came in to report, not expecting to see Abigail and Tom being intimate.

They wished they could unsee it and run away.

They thought inside, 'We saw nothing. Nothing at all! Please don't fire us!'

Abigail's eyes darkened, and she pushed Tom away.

She quickly straightened her clothes and sternly said, "You can leave now."

Tom's lips curled into a satisfied smile. His voice was low and tender, like a lover's whisper. But it only made things worse for the onlookers.

They never thought Abigail would be like this! Despite having Gregory, she still fooled around with an employee in the office. This was too much.

Abigail immediately knew they misunderstood, and frustration surged in her heart. She glared at Tom and lowered her voice, "Don't get too cocky."

Tom smirked, "How could I? I can't even express how much I like you."

His ambiguous words seemed to solidify the relationship between him and Abigail. His tone was arrogant, inviting speculation.

After speaking, he chuckled and walked out without looking back, under the varied gazes of the crowd.

Abigail took a deep breath, wishing she could pull Tom back to explain everything.

But Tom's figure quickly disappeared, and he couldn't be called back.

In the large office, the atmosphere was awkward. Susan and the directors exchanged glances, unsure of what to do next.

Abigail composed herself, cleared her throat, and said, "What's the matter?"

The group snapped back to reality, suddenly remembering their purpose for coming here.

The finance director said, "Ms. Martin, this is the financial report for this quarter. Although the situation has improved compared to before..."

Abigail took it and glanced through it. The company's overall performance had indeed improved significantly, but it still hadn't changed the loss situation.

To take DM further, what they were doing now was far from enough.

Abigail fell into deep thought, and after a long time, she slowly spoke, "Go organize the performance targets for the next quarter and submit them to me tomorrow."

The finance director's expression clouded with hesitation as he said, "But if we continue like this..."

Abigail shot him a cold glance. "Do as I say."

The finance director paused for a moment and quickly agreed, "Yes!"

The other directors also instinctively held their breath, not daring to speak recklessly.

After more than half an hour, the report finally ended, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Only Susan was left.

Susan glanced at Abigail, hesitating to speak. Perhaps Susan's gaze was too intense, even Abigail, who had been keeping her head down, noticed.

Abigail looked up, puzzled. "Susan, is there anything else?"

Susan swallowed silently and asked, "Ms. Martin, you and Tom..."

Abigail frowned. "We have nothing. Go inform HR to supervise Tom's resignation as soon as possible."

Susan stared at her in disbelief. "What? Resignation? Why?"

Because she was too shocked, Susan's voice rose several octaves, sounding very harsh.

Abigail frowned slightly, rubbed her ear, and looked at Susan displeasedly. "Why else? DM cannot tolerate someone with poor conduct."

Facing Abigail's clear eyes, Susan couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy, a trace of panic flashing in her eyes. She lowered her head and said in a low voice, "Okay, I'll handle it right away." After speaking, she picked up the signed documents and prepared to leave.

Abigail suddenly called out to her, "Wait a minute."

Susan paused and asked, "Ms. Martin, is there anything else?"

Abigail demanded, "Today's incident, I don't want it to spread widely, understand?"

"Understood. I'll have a good talk with those people." After speaking, Susan turned and left the office.
