Chapter 421 The Taste of Love
Afterward, Gregory held Abigail close, lying still in bed. She glanced up at his sharp jawline and defined features, finding him irresistibly captivating.
She curled her lips and said softly, "Honey, Grandpa's ceremony is over. Shouldn't we return to Aramore?"
"Are you missing home?" Gregory raised a brow slightly and asked.
Abigail shook her head and voiced her thoughts, "After Grandpa passed away, I realized that people must learn to treasure what they have. My parents can manage the Worthington family affairs. Shouldn't we go back to spend some time with Mrs. Grace White?"
Grace's two sons, Stephen, felt regretful towards her, so he took Elaine and Roman overseas.
Gregory had been preoccupied with work and accompanying her to Aerilon, and it had been many months since they last visited Grace.
They only saw Grace briefly at the service, but it was evident that her health had worsened.
Abigail didn't want Gregory to carry the same regrets as she did.
Gregory remained silent for a moment before he responded in a low tone, "Alright, we'll head back tomorrow."
After deciding, they informed Caius and Michelle during dinner.
Michelle didn't say much, as Abigail and Gregory's work and family were in Aramore, and it was only natural they would return.
But Caius frowned, his expression slightly stern. "Leaving so soon? Can't you stay a little longer with your mother?"
Michelle looked up and smiled. "I don't need company. Once things are settled here, we can visit Aramore again. Travel is so convenient now."
Hearing Michelle's words, Caius remained silent, but his discontented gaze at Gregory spoke volumes. If Abigail had been raised by him, he would never have let her marry so far away. Yet, the situation was set, and arguing was futile.
In the end, Caius could only sigh resignedly and wave his hand at them. "Do as you will, just don't forget to call."
"Of course." Abigail and Gregory exchanged a look and agreed with a grin.
Halfway through the meal, Abigail suddenly recalled something and looked at Caius. "Dad, I heard from the staff that you spoke with Aurelia for a long time. Did she need something?"
Caius paused, his tone flat. "Not much. Aurelia's spouse lacks financial skills and made a major mistake shortly after assuming control of the company. She wants me to assist the Williams family."
Abigail nodded, feeling reassured. As long as she wasn't meddling, she felt at ease, knowing any interference would likely fail anyway.
However, Michelle frowned slightly and asked, "The Williams family owes over a billion dollars. Are you seriously considering helping?"
It wasn't that she was unwilling to spend money, but the Williams family's financial crisis was too immense.
And given Aurelia's husband's track record, even if they managed to recover this time, another setback seemed inevitable.
Caius smiled reassuringly and said, "No, I declined. She didn't approach the Rainier family but came to me instead. I can't figure out what she was thinking."
Maybe she realized the Rainier family wouldn't help?
Abigail listened quietly, but she felt that Aurelia's intentions were likely not that simple.
However, since the other party hadn't taken any action yet, it wouldn't be fair to jump to conclusions. After all, it was just her intuition.
The following morning, Gregory, Abigail, and Quinn returned to Aramore together. Henry and Tricia came to pick them up at the airport. Seeing them emerge, they immediately waved. "Over here!"
Abigail and Gregory exchanged a glance and quickly approached. Henry gave Quinn a hearty hug but refrained from hugging the other two, wary of Gregory, who disliked anyone touching Abigail.
But Tricia was fearless, ignoring Gregory's sharp gaze and hugging Abigail tightly. "Abigail, you're finally back. I missed you so much!"
Abigail hugged her back. "I missed you too. How have you been? Henry didn't bully you, did he?"
Before Tricia could respond, Henry protested. "What do you mean? Look at me, how could I dare to bully her!"
Tricia chuckled and nodded in agreement. "Yes, that's true."
If Henry ever crossed her, she could leave anytime!
"Alright, let's not linger here. We've booked a private room at a restaurant to celebrate your return."
"Yes, let's go. We'll treat you to a grand meal. You probably haven't eaten well lately."
Henry and Tricia had booked an elegant private room. The minimal decor exuded comfort and, most importantly, offered complete privacy.
Henry handed two menus to Abigail and Tricia. "Order whatever you like tonight. It's all on me."
Looking at the lavish dishes on the menu, Abigail raised an eyebrow. "You're unusually generous today. Did something great happen?"
Henry scratched his head and admitted honestly. "The land Gregory gave me last time is now officially under development. It's progressing better than expected. If this project succeeds, it could yield substantial profits."
The potential of this land was immense, and it had successfully reshaped his father's view of him as careless.
Abigail turned to Gregory and remarked, "Yes, the key is knowing how to utilize resources and seize chances. I'm somewhat reassured to leave Tricia in your hands."
Hearing Abigail praise another man, Gregory couldn't sit still.
He tugged the chair Abigail was sitting on and pulled her closer, whispering in her ear with a tinge of jealousy, "Shouldn't you be complimenting me?"
It was clearly his insight that secured the land.
His tone was dripping with envy, and Abigail couldn't help but giggle. She raised her hand and gently tapped his head. "Gregory is the best. The land's success is all thanks to your sharp instincts and foresight."
Hearing what he wanted, Gregory finally smiled, his deep eyes alight with unrestrained joy. In this moment, he was unrecognizable from the cold, calculating figure of the corporate world.
Henry and Quinn exchanged a glance and shrugged, as the room seemed to suffocate with the intensity of affection.
