Chapter 328 Thought He Was Going to Kiss Her

Looking at Abigail's serious expression, Gregory couldn't help but chuckle softly.

The warm, broad palm gently rubbed the top of Abigail's head as he coaxed, "Alright, stop thinking about these unhappy things. Do you want some dessert? I'll go buy it."

Following his gaze out the car window, Abigail saw a dessert shop by the roadside, its lights still on, indicating it was still open.

Her eyes lit up, and she quickly nodded. "Yes!"

"Wait here." After saying that, Gregory opened the door and got out of the car.

After a while, he returned with a delicate gift box in his hand.

"Your favorite strawberry cream cake," said Gregory.

A sweet smile appeared on Abigail's face, her eyes full of surprise. "Thank you, Mr. White!"

She quickly reached out to take it, but just as her fingers were about to touch the cake box, Gregory deftly moved it away.

Gregory raised an eyebrow and asked, "A simple thank you is enough?"

Meeting his deep eyes, Abigail immediately understood what Gregory meant. She quickly leaned over, cupped Gregory's handsome face, and gave him a heavy kiss on his thin lips.

A crisp sound suddenly echoed in the quiet car.

Abigail's eyes sparkled as she looked at him. "Mr. White, is this okay?"

Meeting her clear eyes, Gregory couldn't help but smile. He cleared his throat and pretended to be reserved. "Barely acceptable."

Having been married for so long, how could Abigail not see through his thoughts?

Gregory said it was barely acceptable, but in fact, he was very happy inside.

She smiled sweetly. "Oh, in that case, I guess I'll have to keep trying! One kiss isn't enough, how about a few more? I'll keep kissing until you're satisfied."

Gregory couldn't hold back any longer and chuckled softly. He reached out and rubbed Abigail's fluffy hair, a hint of helplessness flashing in his deep eyes. "Alright, I'm satisfied. Eat up."

Abigail quickly opened the cake box and started eating happily.

The sweet and sour taste of the strawberries mixed with the creamy sweetness, creating an unparalleled deliciousness.

As she ate, she couldn't help but sway her head, her eyes squinting in happiness, looking very satisfied.

Seeing her eat so happily, Gregory's lips couldn't help but curl up. "Is it good?"

Abigail nodded vigorously and scooped a big bite to Gregory's lips. "This is amazing! Mr. White, you have to try it. The desserts from this place are fantastic; I definitely want to come back here next time!"

Gregory slightly opened his thin lips and ate the cake.

The strawberry cream cake was indeed rich and sweet, but it was a bit too sweet for him.

However, seeing Abigail's expectant eyes, he still nodded and said, "It's good."

Hearing this, Abigail felt completely satisfied and ate even more happily.

When they returned to Maple Residence, Gregory turned his head and saw that she had already eaten half of the cake.

Gregory fell silent.

He pinched the bridge of his nose helplessly and stopped her. "Alright, no more eating. Be careful, or you won't be able to sleep tonight."

Abigail watched as the cake was taken from her hands and looked up at Gregory with pleading eyes. "Just one more bite, please, just one more!"

Gregory said, "No, do you remember last time when you woke me up in the middle of the night to rub your stomach?"

Last time, Abigail wanted to eat cake in the middle of the night. When Gregory came out of the bathroom after a shower, a large piece of cake was already gone.

He was about to scold her when he met Abigail's watery eyes. In an instant, all the harsh words got stuck in his throat, eventually turning into a helpless sigh.

He compromised. "Alright, one last bite."

On the other side, Henry had just dropped Tricia off at her home. The car was parked downstairs, but he didn't immediately open the door.

He turned his head to look at the passenger seat, where Tricia had already fallen asleep against the backrest, her sleeping face serene and gentle, lacking the sharpness she usually had, replaced by a touch of softness.

Henry found himself a bit lost in thought.

Unconsciously, he reached out, wanting to gently touch Tricia's cheek with his fingertip.

His lips involuntarily curled up slightly, and he murmured softly, "If only you were this well-behaved all the time."

Just as his fingertip touched Tricia's cheek, she suddenly moved and slowly opened her eyes.

In an instant, their eyes met.

Tricia was momentarily stunned, still groggy from sleep, not immediately understanding the situation.

Henry hadn't expected her to wake up suddenly, his heart tightened, and he quickly withdrew his hand.

Tricia rubbed her eyes and asked in confusion, "What were you doing just now?"

Henry's eyes flickered, avoiding her gaze.

He cleared his throat and hastily explained, "You had something on your face, and I was just trying to help you get it off."

At this moment, he was very nervous, afraid that Tricia would discover his feelings for her.

Tricia quickly wiped her cheek and asked, "What was it?"

Henry felt even more guilty, his voice gradually losing confidence. "It's gone now, I already got it off for you."

Tricia believed him and nodded. "Thanks for that. I misunderstood you."

She had thought Henry was going to kiss her. She couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed, wondering why she had been daydreaming so much lately.

Henry quickly said, "You should go upstairs and rest. You have work tomorrow."

Tricia glanced at the time and realized it was already past midnight. She quickly said goodbye to Henry and ran upstairs.

Henry didn't leave immediately but waited quietly downstairs for a while.

His gaze fixed on a certain direction through the car window until the light in that apartment turned on, and then he finally started the engine and left.

That night, neither of them could sleep, their minds filled with thoughts of each other, tossing and turning in bed.

Roman was also unable to sleep.

After countless calls, Stephen finally answered.

Roman anxiously asked, "Dad, do you know where Mom went? I can't find her anywhere!"

There was a long silence on the other end of the line before Stephen slowly spoke, "Your mom and I are divorced. Don't look for her anymore."

Roman's frown deepened, and he asked in confusion, "Dad, why did you divorce Mom? What happened?"

Stephen replied sternly, "That's not your concern. Stay put at the White Group and remember, don't bother Abigail and Gregory anymore. Don't worry about anything else."

With that, he hung up the phone.
