Chapter 73 Prioritizing Love Over Friendship

Abigail looked at Gregory, puzzled. "Did I say something wrong? Why are Henry and Quinn acting so weird?"

Gregory met her confused gaze, smiled, and gently ruffled her hair. "Don't worry about them. They're just a bit off sometimes," he said, tapping his temple.

Abigail chuckled, a sweet smile spreading across her face.

Henry grumbled, "Gregory, you're choosing love over friendship! Right, Quinn?"

Quinn, usually quiet, nodded. "Yeah, it's a bit unfair."

Gregory shrugged, unfazed. "It's clear what's more important: a wife or friends."

Henry and Quinn went silent, feeling a bit down.

But with Abigail, they couldn't stay upset for long.

They'd known her since she was little. Henry had thought she was adorable and wanted to hold her, but Gregory had always been protective.

Gregory's possessiveness over Abigail was clear even back then.

Who would've guessed things would turn out like this?

Abigail had forgotten about them, even Gregory, who she used to rely on, and instead wanted to be with Roman.

No one understood what was so great about Roman. He was a jerk and irresponsible.

But luckily, Gregory's persistence paid off.

Henry and Quinn genuinely wished Gregory happiness.

Henry sighed inwardly but smiled and pointed at Gregory. "Abigail, you should keep him in check. He's mocking us again."

Abigail was busy eating the shrimp and crab Gregory had peeled for her when she was suddenly called out.

She blinked and looked at Gregory, a playful glint in her eyes. "He doesn't sound to be mocking."

Henry was thrilled.

But before he could get too excited, Abigail added, "But he's also right."

Henry's smile faltered, and he clutched his chest, pretending to be hurt. "You two are not only showing off but also mocking us!"

Henry, always the life of the party, kept chatting until the meal ended.

Abigail couldn't help but agree with Gregory's description of Henry as talkative. Gregory really knew him well.

By the end of the meal, Henry was satisfied and said to Abigail, "Abigail, even though Gregory can be cold, he's a good guy. You'll be happy with him!"

"How so?" Abigail asked, curious.

Seeing her interest, Henry got excited. "Gregory is handsome, rich, and loyal. He's responsible, and he has the final say at home. Grace loves you, so you'll be very happy."

Abigail nodded, agreeing.

Henry was encouraged by her approval and continued to sing Gregory's praises.

Like a salesman eager to pitch a product, he couldn't stop praising Gregory.

Abigail listened closely, learning a lot about Gregory's past from Henry.

By the end, Henry was parched and took a big gulp of his drink.

Abigail laughed, "You guys have a great bond. I thought with Mr. White's personality, he wouldn't have many friends."

Henry quickly replied, "He doesn't. With his personality, only the two of us can tolerate him."

Despite his teasing words, Henry's face was all smiles.

In reality, the three of them had a solid friendship.

They had an older brother who passed away in an accident, which deeply saddened them.

Though Gregory was cold, he was fiercely loyal.

Both Henry and Quinn had faced danger and nearly lost their lives.

It was Gregory who saved them.

So, they were always grateful to Gregory.

Seeing Gregory finally find happiness and marry the woman of his dreams made them happy, too.

Abigail was touched by their bond and turned to look at Gregory.

At that moment, Gregory was looking at her too. Under the light, his well-defined features looked even more refined, and his deep eyes held emotions she couldn't quite grasp.

Gregory was such a mysterious person.

Sometimes, he felt within reach, and other times he seemed very distant.

After dinner, Henry suggested exchanging WhatsApp contacts with Abigail. She added Henry' and Quinn's numbers, becoming friends on WhatsApp.

Quinn was even more aloof than Gregory. He barely spoke during the meal.

According to Henry, if no one talked to him, Quinn could go a whole day without saying a word.

But Abigail noticed Quinn's occasional glances.

His eyes were scrutinizing and assessing, with a hint of complexity.

Before parting, Quinn, who had barely spoken, said his third sentence of the night to her, "There's a villa downtown. I'll transfer it to you as a wedding gift."

Abigail looked up in surprise and quickly waved her hand. "No, no, that's too much."

Quinn's fingers lightly pushed his glasses up. "If you don't live in it, you can rent it out for money."

Abigail didn't expect him to be so blunt and couldn't help but laugh. "Thank you, but it's really too much. I can't accept it."

Hearing this, Henry slapped his forehead and said regretfully, "How could I forget such an important thing? I also have a gift for you. You'll know what it is when you receive it."

Seeing the mysterious smile on his lips, Abigail felt both helpless and amused.

Why did they all want to give her gifts?

It was their first meeting.

Just as Abigail was at a loss on how to refuse, Gregory finally spoke, "Accept it. It's their goodwill."

"Yes, Abigail, just accept it. Just remember to invite us to your wedding," Henry said happily.

Abigail looked at Gregory, saw him nod, and had no choice but to agree.
