Chapter 84 How to Comfort Her
After leaving Maple Residence, Gregory got straight into the car.
Leo, in the driver's seat, felt Gregory's cold vibe and shivered. He hesitated but finally asked, "Back to the company, Mr. White?"
Gregory opened his eyes, giving Leo a sharp look.
Leo stiffened, feeling nervous.
Luckily, Gregory quickly looked away and said, "To Nightfall Bar."
"Yes, Mr. White."
Surprised but obedient, Leo drove towards Nightfall Bar.
Gregory stared out the window for a bit, then texted Henry and Quinn: [See you at Nightfall Bar in 20 minutes.]
About 20 minutes later, Leo parked in Nightfall Bar's underground lot.
Gregory took the elevator straight to the top floor and entered a private room.
Henry and Quinn were already there, one chatting away, the other drinking and listening.
The vibe was pretty chill.
Gregory walked in, sat down, poured himself a drink, and downed it.
The liquor burned his throat, making him frown.
Henry and Quinn exchanged surprised looks.
They'd never seen Gregory so out of control.
Usually, he was calm and composed, no matter what.
'What happened?' they wondered.
Seeing Gregory pour another drink, Henry asked, "What's going on, Gregory?"
Gregory paused, then downed the drink.
He slammed the glass down, leaned back, and stared at the ceiling.
The flickering lights reflected in his eyes, but he showed no emotion.
Just when Henry thought he wouldn't get an answer, Gregory asked, "If a girl suddenly starts avoiding you, what's the reason?"
Henry and Quinn exchanged a knowing look.
So it was about Abigail. No wonder he was off.
Seeing Gregory's defeated look, they couldn't help but laugh.
"Gregory, even you have moments like this!" Quinn, usually expressionless, smiled.
Gregory's eyes narrowed, and he gave a cold smile. "Is it funny?"
"Kinda, yeah."
Most people would be scared of Gregory's cold demeanor, but not Henry and Quinn.
They laughed even harder, especially Henry, who laughed so much he clutched his stomach.
They never thought they'd hear such words from Gregory.
'Kudos to Abigail!' they thought.
Gregory watched them quietly, and when they finally stopped laughing, he said, "Had enough?"
Henry and Quinn exchanged a glance and shut up.
"Go on, Gregory, we can hold back our laughter."
Gregory's eyelid twitched, and he pinched his brow.
Seeing this, Henry asked, "Gregory, did you upset your wife?"
"Yeah," Gregory replied.
Henry perked up, patting his chest. "Tell me, Gregory. I can help you figure it out. I've got plenty of experience with this stuff."
That was why Gregory had called them. Among the three, Henry knew women best.
Gregory thought for a moment, then explained Abigail's odd behavior over the past two days. He lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and the smoke blurred his sharp features.
Henry pondered for a moment, then exaggeratedly said, "Gregory, how many days have you been married, and you've only kissed once?"
'Is that the point?' Gregory thought, annoyed.
Seeing Gregory's glare, Henry quickly backtracked. "My bad. Give me more details. Did she really start acting strange all of a sudden? No signs at all?"
Gregory thought deeply, then shook his head. "No."
Just yesterday, they had dinner together, and then she suddenly changed.
On the way here, he kept wondering if he had done something wrong to make her dislike him. But he had no clue what the problem was.
He didn't even dare to ask more, fearing the answer would be what he least wanted to hear.
Henry and Quinn exchanged a glance and fell silent, their smiles fading.
If they could joke earlier, seeing Gregory's low spirits, they couldn't say a word in jest now.
Henry tentatively asked, "Gregory, nothing happens without a reason. Why don't you think carefully again? You said you went to the hospital yesterday?"
Gregory suddenly looked up, his dark eyes flashing with a cold light. He slowly said a name, "Olivia Parker."
Quinn, usually silent, suddenly spoke up, "In that case, there's only one possibility."
"What?" Gregory turned to him, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
Quinn pushed his glasses up his nose and said softly, "Jealousy."
Henry pushed him aside with a look of disdain. "Why do you never speak a complete sentence? Let me explain..."
He quickly leaned over to Gregory's ear and shared his thoughts. "Olivia threatened suicide, aimed at you. Your wife must care about you, so she's jealous."
Gregory's long eyelashes trembled, and he couldn't believe it.
Jealous?
Abigail was really jealous because of him?
"Gregory, trust me, that's definitely it. Explain to your wife that Olivia isn't important. How dare she use suicide to threaten you," Henry sneered.
Although he and Gregory didn't grow up together, they both came from prominent families in Aramore and knew each other's backgrounds.
Olivia had always been entangled with Gregory.
Because she was Elaine's niece and a relative of the White family, Gregory hadn't taken it seriously.
But she had gone too far, trying to ruin Gregory and Abigail's relationship.
Gregory hated being threatened the most, and Olivia dared to do that.
Hearing Olivia's name, Gregory frowned, a look of disgust flashing in his eyes.
He looked up at Henry and anxiously asked, "So, what should I do to make it up to her?"
