Chapter 241 Please, Let Me Go

The driver heard her talking to herself and couldn't help but laugh.

With Gregory around, how could Abigail possibly be interested in Roman?

Only Jessica would treat the worthless Roman like a treasure, right?

The man curled his lips into a cold smile, deliberately lowered his voice, and asked Jessica, "I heard you bribed a truck driver recently to stage an accident?"

Jessica's pupils suddenly contracted, her eyes filled with disbelief. "How did you know?"

As soon as she finished speaking, she realized what she had said and quickly covered her mouth, staring at the driver warily.

That truck driver had died on the spot, leaving no evidence. This person must be trying to deceive her!

The driver sneered, his eyes full of disdain and mockery. 'With your limited intelligence, you dare to go against Abigail? Are you asking for trouble?'

"What do you think Roman would do to you if he found out you did this?" the driver asked.

Hearing Roman's name, Jessica instantly fell into a panic. "What do you want? Are you sent by Abigail?"

The driver didn't answer her question but said nonchalantly, "How about I send a message to Mr. Roman White right now, with the evidence of you bribing the truck driver?"

"No!" Jessica's eyes flashed with panic, and she quickly stopped him.

The driver slowly put down his phone and looked up at her. "If you hurt someone, you have to pay the price, don't you think?"

Facing the driver's gloomy eyes, Jessica suddenly had a bad premonition.

She instinctively shrank back, but the back seat was behind her, leaving her no room to retreat.

"What do you want to do?"

The driver curled his lips and unlocked the door, saying, "Get out."

Jessica felt a surge of joy and quickly opened the car door, which indeed opened.

Just as she was about to get out and run, the driver's sinister voice came from behind, "Have you thought it through?"

Jessica felt a chill down her spine and turned around abruptly, meeting the driver's half-smiling eyes.

She gritted her teeth and shouted angrily at the driver, "Just you wait, Roman will never let you go!"

After saying that, she quickly got out of the car, ready to run.

However, at that moment, the driver suddenly started the car and drove toward her.

She gasped and instinctively stepped back to run.

But after running a short distance, she realized that ahead was a dark forest.

She had run in the wrong direction!

Behind her, the car was still closing in step by step.

Jessica was panting heavily, but she had no other choice and could only run forward desperately.

The wind howled past her ears, and her heart pounded violently, as if it would jump out in the next second.

Jessica was extremely nervous, and her steps became slower and slower.

At that moment, a horn sounded from behind, scaring her into a scream as she fell to the ground.

She looked back in horror, struggling to move backward.

However, the car was getting closer and closer, as if it would hit her in the next second.

Jessica's heart stopped for a moment, and she quickly closed her eyes, waiting for the pain to come.

But the expected pain did not arrive, only the sound of brakes.

Jessica felt a surge of joy, thinking she had escaped, and a smile of relief appeared on her face.

The driver got out of the car and walked toward Jessica with long strides.

He squatted in front of Jessica and forcefully grabbed her chin. "Scared already? This is just the beginning."

Jessica's shoulders trembled uncontrollably, wanting to break free from the man's grip, but her body was limp, and she had no strength left.

Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably as she looked at the man pitifully, begging, "Please, let me go, okay? I know I was wrong. I won't dare to do it again!"

"Let you go? Who let Mrs. White go? The only reason you could marry Roman was because of Mrs. White's generosity. Otherwise, do you think you would live to see tomorrow?"

Jessica broke down in tears, her carefully made-up face smeared, and her hair a mess, looking completely different from usual.

But at this moment, she had only one thought, and that was to survive.

"I really know I was wrong. Please let me go. I promise I won't do anything to harm Abigail again!"

"The most worthless thing in this world is a promise. How can I believe you?"

Jessica sniffled in grievance and asked, "What do you want?"

"Publicly apologize to Mrs. White and turn yourself in," the man said calmly.

Jessica immediately refused, "No, that's impossible!"

'Apologize to Abigail? Never in this lifetime! What is Abigail? She doesn't deserve my apology!' Jessica thought.

The man sneered, forcefully pushing her face away, and stood up to leave, "In that case, forget it. Stay here and reflect."

Seeing the man so serious, Jessica panicked and quickly rushed to hug his leg. "No, you can't leave! Don't leave me here alone!"

She had been afraid of the dark since she was a child, and this was a deserted place. What if there were wild animals?

Maybe even fate wasn't on her side, as her thoughts were quickly validated.

A wolf's howl echoed from deep within the forest, carrying a chilling coldness.

Jessica started trembling again, gripping the man's hand even tighter. "Please, don't leave me. Isn't it just an apology? Fine, I'll apologize!"

The man looked down, his gaze falling on her tear-streaked face without a trace of pity, only a hint of mockery.

'With such little courage, she dared to go against Abigail? How audacious!'

He took out his phone, opened the recording function, and pointed the camera at Jessica, saying, "Didn't you say you'd apologize? Start now."

Jessica never expected him to be serious and looked at him with pleading eyes.

Unfortunately, the man wasn't Roman and wouldn't be swayed by her beauty.

Besides, in her current state, there wasn't much beauty to speak of.

The man ordered, "Stop playing tricks and apologize properly!"

She had been pampered all her life, and as long as she acted pitiful, how many men would fall for her?

But she never thought that one day her tears would be useless.

She gritted her teeth secretly, her eyes filled with immense hatred.

"I apologize to Abigail for bribing the truck driver to stage an accident. I won't dare to do such a thing again. I hope you can forgive me." After saying that, she looked up and glared at the man. "Is that enough?"

The man put away his phone and nodded slowly. "Barely. Remember to turn yourself in tomorrow, or I'll come for you again."

Recalling the fear of being chased by the car, Jessica shivered and hunched her shoulders. "Okay, I promise. Can you take me home now?"

The man found her words amusing and couldn't help but laugh. "When did I say I would take you back?"

Jessica was stunned. "What do you mean? Are you going to leave me here?"

The man got into the car, rolled down the window, and said to Jessica, "Stay here and reflect."

After saying that, he quickly reversed the car and sped away.

Jessica tried to chase after him but was hit with a face full of exhaust fumes, making her scream in frustration. "Abigail, you bitch, just you wait!"
