Chapter 369 Why Are You so Clingy?

Henry ran upstairs to find a place to calm down but unexpectedly bumped into Gregory and Abigail.

Gregory was as expressionless as ever, while Abigail's eyes sparkled with curiosity and a mischievous smile.

"Henry, you actually confessed!"

"Stop it, it's all over now. I need to calm down."

After saying that, he didn't dare to look at their expressions and rushed back to his room as fast as he could.

Watching his retreating figure, Abigail and Gregory exchanged a glance and couldn't help but laugh.

Who would have thought Henry would have a day like this!

Abigail patted Gregory's arm and said with a smile, "You go rest first, I'll go chat with Tricia."

Gregory frowned slightly, not wanting to be separated from Abigail, but thinking about Henry's rocky love life, he hesitated and agreed.

But before leaving, he specifically reminded her, "Don't stay over at her place, go on."

Abigail was momentarily stunned, then couldn't help but laugh. "Why are you so clingy!"

Gregory pulled her into his arms, lowered his head, and kissed her, his voice deep and magnetic. "Because I like you."

Hearing this sudden confession, Abigail's cheeks instantly turned a light shade of red, and her heartbeat quickened.

"Alright, I promise you."

After Gregory left, Abigail quickly went downstairs and saw Tricia still standing there in a daze, feeling both helpless and amused.

She walked up and waved in front of Tricia. "Why are you daydreaming here alone?"

Tricia snapped back to reality, recalling the scene of Henry's confession just now, still feeling a bit unreal, her legs a bit weak.

She tightly held Abigail's hand, her voice deliberately lowered but unable to hide the excitement in her words.

"Abigail, Henry confessed to me. I don't know if it counts as a confession, but he said he likes me."

Perhaps because she was too shy, Tricia's face instantly turned red, right up to her ears.

Abigail glanced at her hand being tightly held, gently patted her shoulder, and pulled her to sit on the couch.

"Tell me, how do you feel now?"

Tricia shyly covered her cheeks. "I don't know, I feel like my mind is a mess. I'm worried he's just teasing me, then all my happiness and excitement would be for nothing. I still feel like I'm dreaming."

Abigail's lips curved slightly, her delicate and beautiful face showing a smile. "It's not a dream, I can vouch for that."

After a pause, she added, "Although Henry can be unreliable sometimes, he's definitely not someone who would joke about this. Maybe you could try responding to him."

Tricia lowered her eyes, the smile on her lips suddenly turning a bit bitter.

"Forget it, I don't think I'm good enough for him. Besides, I have a child. It's probably impossible between us."

Abigail opened her mouth, wanting to comfort her, but Tricia had already raised a smile again. "Forget it, things are fine as they are now. Since the ending is already determined, it's better not to start easily, to avoid getting hurt later."

"Tricia, don't think like that. If Henry dares to bully you, I'll definitely help you. Even if I can't, there's still Gregory."

Tricia shook her head with a smile. "No need, you don't have to persuade me anymore. Go rest, I'll go upstairs first."

"Tricia!"

Abigail wanted to call her back, but she was already lost in her own emotions, not stopping at all.

Watching her desolate figure, Abigail sighed helplessly.

Gregory was leaning against the headboard, handling some files on his laptop. Seeing Abigail return so quickly, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.

"Why are you back so soon? Not happy?"

Abigail threw herself into Gregory's arms, feeling inexplicably down. "Tricia lacks a sense of security. Henry's past flings make it hard for her to express her feelings quickly, plus she has a child."

Gregory immediately understood. He gently patted Abigail's head with his large hand. "You've done your best. This is something Tricia needs to figure out on her own; others can't help."

Abigail pouted, feeling sad. "But Tricia is my best friend. I want to see her happy."

Gregory pondered for a moment, then said, "It's a pity if Tricia and Henry miss each other since they both like each other. Instead of guessing here, why not directly tell Henry about Tricia's situation?"

He believed Henry was a responsible man. If he was truly committed, he wouldn't change easily.

"Is that really okay?" Abigail leaned against Gregory, her eyes full of confusion.

Gregory squeezed her soft hand. "We can't think of a better way for now, can we?"

That seemed to be the case.

Abigail couldn't help but sigh again. "I'm really worried about Tricia's feelings. If they do get together, I'll definitely ask them for a reward!"

Gregory was amused by her, replying in a low voice, "Yes, ask Henry. He has money."

Henry, who was chugging alcohol on the guest room balcony, suddenly felt a chill down his spine and sneezed.

The next morning, when Henry opened his eyes, he was surprised to find Gregory sitting on the couch in his room.

He sat up abruptly. "Gregory? When did you get here? What time is it?"

Gregory, who was buried in his files, lifted his eyes disdainfully. "Sleeping until past nine, do your employees know their boss is this unmotivated?"

Henry awkwardly touched his nose, defending himself, "I'm not at the office, right? By the way, Gregory, why are you here?"

Gregory closed his file, crossed his legs, leaned back on the couch, and quietly stared at him.

Henry felt a bit guilty under his gaze. "What's wrong? Did I do something wrong?"

Gregory shook his head and asked, "Abigail asked me to ask you a question. Are you serious about liking Tricia?"

"Of course, I'm serious!" Henry answered without hesitation.

He had never been so devoted to a woman in his life!

As expected, Gregory nodded and continued, "You should understand Tricia's family background and the gap between you two. Your parents are strong-willed. Although they won't control you, they won't easily accept Tricia into the Clark family. Have you thought about that?"

Henry opened his mouth, not knowing how to answer for a moment.

Given his mom's strong-willed nature, she indeed wouldn't easily allow someone of Tricia's humble background to marry Henry.

But where there's a will, there's a way, right?

His mom loved him the most. As long as he insisted, she would agree eventually.

Gregory shook his head, exposing him, "Have you thought about the pressure Tricia would face if she really got together with you?"

Henry's mom was notoriously vain and valued family background the most.

Marrying a girl like Tricia would make the Clark family a laughingstock in high society. Henry's mom wouldn't agree.
