Chapter 185 So Adorable

Abigail gave a shy nod. "Yeah."

Gregory cupped his ear, pretending he didn't hear. "What? Didn't catch that, can you say it again?"

Abigail knew he was messing with her and shot him an angry glare. "Nothing, I said I'm going to sleep. Do you need anything else?"

Seeing her annoyed face on the screen, Gregory's grin widened.

He dropped the teasing and said softly, "My bad, babe. You get some rest. No need to hang up. I just wanna watch you."

Abigail lay back on the couch, pulled a blanket over herself, set the phone aside, and slowly closed her eyes.

Gregory stayed quiet, just watching her sleep.

Her features were delicate and beautiful, her profile sharp, and her long, curled eyelashes looked like tiny brushes, gently tickling his heart.

After a bit, there was a knock on the door, and Leo walked in, saying, "Mr. White, there's an event the day after tomorrow..."

Halfway through, a cold stare cut him off.

Leo's words died in his throat, and he didn't dare to speak again.

Gregory glanced at the phone. Abigail's eyelashes fluttered slightly from the noise, and she murmured, almost waking up.

He signaled Leo to put the stuff down and leave quietly.

Leo finally got why Gregory was being so careful. Abigail was napping.

He quietly placed the documents on the desk and slipped out.

He didn't make a sound, even holding his breath out of nervousness.

Gregory appreciated his tact, grabbing the documents and opening them while keeping the video call on the side.

When the time was right, he gently woke Abigail. "Babe, don't sleep too long, or you won't sleep tonight."

"Just a bit longer." Abigail heard the noise, turned over, and tried to keep sleeping.

Gregory smiled helplessly. "Did you forget there's a meeting this afternoon?"

Hearing that, Abigail's eyes snapped open, and she quickly sat up from the couch. "Right, the meeting!"

She got up too fast, feeling dizzy, her vision going black for a moment before clearing up.

Seeing her frown, Gregory's heart tightened. "What's wrong? You okay?"

Abigail rubbed her temples and shook her head. "I'm fine. Just got up too quick. I'll be okay after a rest. Don't you rest at noon?"

Gregory replied, "Nah, I'm full of energy. You know that best, don't you?"

Hearing Gregory's playful remark, Abigail couldn't help but glare at him again.

On the surface, he seemed cold and composed, but who would've thought he was so playful in private?

Gregory didn't hold back, smiling and saying, "If I don't say it to my wife, who else can I say it to?"

After not seeing or touching her for a few hours, couldn't he tease her a bit?

"Annoying." Abigail pouted and reminded, "Take care of yourself, don't overwork. I'll check your health when you get home tonight."

Gregory tugged at his slightly open collar, showing off his sexy collarbone, and said with a smirk, "I humbly accept your inspection."

Abigail glanced at him, noticing the bite marks she left on his collarbone last night. Her face turned red, and she quickly hung up the phone.

On her way to the meeting, she bumped into Tom again.

Tom was rocking a white shirt, his hair perfectly styled, looking all radiant and handsome.

The girls in the design department were all giggly and excited, sneaking glances at him.

Every now and then, there were dreamy, girlish looks thrown his way. But Abigail just gave him a quick glance and looked away.

'Gregory is way hotter than Tom!' Abigail thought.

But to everyone else, it looked like she was deeply admiring him. They thought, 'Ms. Martin is really something. Facing a hottie like Tom and staying cool. Mr. White is lucky to have such a loyal wife.'

Feeling all the eyes on her, Abigail cut through the tension. "Let's start the meeting. Tom, how are your drafts coming along? We need to speed things up and hit the market with a fresh look."

Tom nodded. "Don't worry, Ms. Martin. We'll have the drafts ready by the deadline."

"Good. Let's go over the next steps," Abigail said.

The meeting dragged on for over two hours, leaving Abigail with a dry mouth.

Throughout, she methodically laid out the work and briefed everyone on the upcoming plans.

In just a few days, no one dared to underestimate her anymore.

Standing there, Abigail exuded a sense of stability, making people instinctively want to trust her.

With her straightforward and concise suggestions, without a single wasted word, many people admired her greatly.

After the meeting, the employees trickled out. Abigail was organizing the documents and was about to leave when Tom called out to her. "Abigail, you're even more impressive than I imagined."

Abigail paused and turned to look at him. "First, this is the company. Whether in private or public, you should call me Ms. Martin. Second, I am indeed excellent; there isno need for you to tell me."

Tom flashed an innocent smile. "Seems like Ms. Martin has a deep misunderstanding of me. I genuinely think you're amazing."

"Thanks. Anything else? If not, get back to work and don't waste time, or you'll risk a pay cut." Abigail gave him a cold look and walked away without hesitation.

Tom watched her leave, his eyes, somewhat similar to Gregory's, gradually showing a hint of infatuation.

He liked her more and more, especially her way of handling things—it was just too adorable!

As Abigail walked, she suddenly felt a slight chill down her spine.

She frowned and turned to look behind her, but saw no one.

Susan saw her stop and asked curiously, "Ms. Martin, what's up?"

"Nothing, let's go." Abigail snapped out of it and continued walking toward the elevator.

'Maybe I was just too tense and had a hallucination,' Abigail thought.
