Chapter 339 I Really Can't Do Anything About You
Gregory frowned and didn't immediately agree. "I'll go ask the doctor first. As long as he agrees to discharge you, I'll go with you."
Hearing this, a trace of a smile finally appeared on Abigail's face.
She took the initiative to wrap her arms around Gregory's neck and gave him a heavy kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, honey."
Gregory's previously tense heart instantly relaxed, and he smiled helplessly. "I really can't say no to you."
He belonged to Abigail for life.
A hint of cunning flashed in Abigail's eyes, and her pale complexion couldn't hide the liveliness in her expression.
After asking the doctor and confirming that she could be discharged, Gregory immediately handled the discharge procedures for Abigail.
When Quinn and Henry heard the news, they immediately dropped their work and rushed over.
"Why are you suddenly getting discharged? Your body is so weak; why not stay in the hospital a bit longer?" Quinn asked and looked at Abigail with concern.
Seeing her still pale face, he couldn't help but worry.
Abigail shook her head with a smile. "I'm fine. The doctor said I just need to rest and recuperate."
Quinn, however, felt it wasn't that simple. "Are you in such a hurry to get discharged because you want to go to Aerilon?"
A trace of surprise flashed in Abigail's eyes. "How did you know?"
Quinn pursed his lips, his eyes full of disapproval. "No way, Aerilon is too dangerous. It's not suitable for you to go now."
The Worthington Family's relationships were too complicated, and going to Aerilon would involve many uncertain dangers.
He had just reunited with Abigail; how could he bear to let her take such risks?
Abigail blinked and looked at him with puppy eyes. "But I want to go. You don't know how happy I was when I found out my mom might still be alive."
Under her gaze, Quinn hesitated. But thinking of the cruel and greedy people in the Worthington Family, Quinn steeled his resolve and refused. "No, it's not the right time yet."
Although the three of them had accumulated some influence in Aramore, it was nothing compared to the Worthington Family's centuries-old influence.
If they really went up against them, they wouldn't stand a chance.
If he couldn't protect Abigail and something happened to her, he might never forgive himself.
The two stood there, neither willing to back down.
Abigail and Quinn's stubbornness was deeply rooted in their hearts.
Gregory pulled Abigail into his arms and said in a deep voice, "Since Abigail wants to go, let her go. The White Family isn't so easily defeated either."
Abigail looked up at him, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Gregory, thank you."
Gregory chuckled and shook his head. "We're husband and wife; there's no need to thank me."
No matter what the future held, he would face it with Abigail.
Seeing that the two were determined, Quinn knew he couldn't persuade them, so he said, "I'll go with you. After all, I'm still nominally part of the Worthington Family, and I can help you get into the it."
Henry also stepped forward and said, "Count me in! At times like this, friends should stick together."
With that, they made their decision and then separated at the hospital to make arrangements for leaving Aramore.
Abigail and Gregory first went to the White Manor to inform Grace of their plans to go to Aerilon.
On the way, Abigail frowned with worry and hesitated. "Gregory, do you think Mom can handle it? The idea of someone coming back to life sounds so absurd."
Gregory held the steering wheel with one hand and Abigail's slender, soft hand with the other, holding it in his palm.
He said, "Don't worry, Mom has been through a lot. Trust me, she won't be scared."
Feeling the warmth in her palm, Abigail nodded and said, "I hope so."
Half an hour later, the car stopped at the White Manor.
Abigail and Gregory entered the White Manor together and told Grace about the events of the past few days.
Grace's reaction was much calmer than Abigail had imagined.
She held Abigail's hand and gently stroked her soft hair, saying, "Abigail, you've been through a lot these days. If you hadn't come, I wouldn't have known so much had happened to you recently."
Then she glared at Gregory. "And you, how dare you keep such a big thing from me!"
Gregory awkwardly touched his nose. "Sorry, Mom, I just didn't want you to worry."
Grace said, "Don't give me excuses. If anything happens to Abigail or her baby, I'll hold you responsible!"
Seeing Grace really angry, Abigail quickly said, "I'm fine, Mom. The decision to visit my mom's grave was a last-minute one. Gregory didn't know about it."
Grace said, "It's still his fault for not carrying his phone with him!"
Gregory remained silent.
Abigail couldn't help but laugh, feeling a warm current spreading from her heart to her limbs. Her eyes welled up with tears, and she said emotionally, "Mom, thank you."
Seeing her tears, Grace felt distressed and quickly pulled her into her arms, gently patting her back like comforting a child. "No need to thank me. My biggest wish in life is for you all to be well."
Abigail nodded. "I know. Don't worry, I'll take good care of myself from now on."
Gregory also promised, "Mom, I'll protect Abigail and our baby."
Grace glared at him, finding him increasingly annoying. "You better keep your word, or I won't forgive you."
Gregory remained silent. He helplessly pinched the bridge of his nose, sighed, and nodded in agreement.
Grace snorted softly and turned to Abigail, her expression returning to gentle and loving.
"Abigail, I actually don't want you to go to Aerilon, but I know that no matter how much I try to stop you, you'll still go. Since you've made up your mind, then go. Find out the truth and find your biological father," she said.
Abigail nodded with red eyes. "Thank you, Mom."
Grace's eyes also reddened, and she continued to advise, "The Worthington Family in Aerilon is not as simple as the White Family. The Worthington Family has three sons. Your father is the eldest son and the former heir of the Worthington Family. Since he stepped down, everyone has been eyeing the heir position."
Abigail replied, "I know. I never expected him to acknowledge me. I just want to confirm if my mom is still alive."
She also wanted to know why, if Michelle was really alive, she could bear to abandon her.
She believed there must be some hidden reason.
Grace thought for a moment, then got up and walked to her bedside table, opened the drawer, and took out an item.
It was a delicate bracelet with intricate patterns, exuding an indescribable aura of mystery.
Even though Abigail didn't understand bracelets, she could tell it was invaluable.
