Chapter 212 Playing the Hero

Tricia's face went ice-cold, and she struggled hard, yelling, "Sir, show some respect! There are so many people watching. Aren't you worried about your reputation?"

To her shock, the guy didn't seem scared at all. Instead, he grinned even wider. "Oh, so you don't want to agree because there are too many people around? Let's head upstairs then. I got a presidential suite. Don't worry, babe, I'll make you feel amazing!" He leaned in, trying to kiss her.

Tricia screamed, looking around for help, but everyone just had these blank looks, some even looked at her with pity.

But no one stepped in.

Because this guy wasn't just anyone; he was the father of a big shot in Aramore, and the host of this banquet had a close relationship with that big shot.

Just when Tricia was about to lose hope, someone suddenly rushed over and punched the middle-aged guy right in the face.

Henry shouted, "You jerk, how dare you touch my girl? You got a death wish?"

The guy screamed in pain, hit the ground, and clutched his face, wailing. "Who the hell hit me?"

Henry sneered, standing in front of Tricia while stepping on the guy. "Open your damn eyes and see for yourself!"

The middle-aged guy opened his eyes and was stunned. "Henry?"

Henry said scornfully, "Yeah, it's me!"

The guy's face turned red with anger. He glared at Henry and threatened, "I suggest you mind your own business. I'm interested in that woman."

"You mean this one?" Henry stepped aside a bit and pointed at Tricia.

The guy thought Henry was backing off and quickly nodded. "Yeah, exactly! If you know what's good for you, get out of the way and stop playing hero."

Tricia looked at Henry nervously. Honestly, she hadn't met Henry many times, so she wasn't sure if he'd help her. Judging by the crowd's reaction, this middle-aged guy had some serious clout.

The next second, a warm, strong hand gripped her shoulder, pulling her back to reality, where she found herself in a warm embrace.

"I'll say it again, she's mine. If anyone even thinks about laying a hand on her, they'll have to go through me first," Henry said.

Tricia was stunned, looking up in disbelief, her eyes filling with tears. Her heart pounded uncontrollably, like a drumbeat in her chest.

She never thought someone would protect her like this.

Henry's words were a bit ambiguous. What did he mean by "she's mine"? Wasn't he worried about being misunderstood?

At that moment, Gregory and Abigail hurried over after hearing the commotion. Seeing the scene, they exchanged a glance and quickly walked up to Henry and Tricia.

"Tricia, are you okay?" Abigail asked, worried.

Abigail regretfully patted her forehead, thinking she shouldn't have stepped out to take that phone call. Caspian had called her earlier with some urgent matters, so she had stepped out.

Who knew something like this would happen after she left?

Meeting Abigail's worried gaze, Tricia felt a warm rush in her heart. She held Abigail's hand and shook her head gently. "I'm fine. Mr. Clark helped me."

Abigail followed Tricia's gaze and felt a surge of anger.

If Henry hadn't shown up in time, Tricia would have been in serious trouble! It was just too disgusting!

Seeing Gregory, Henry's eyes lit up, and he called out, "Gregory."

Gregory gave a slight nod. Looking at the man lying on the ground, wailing, he called out, "Mr. Thompson?"

The middle-aged man's eyes lit up, thinking he had found a savior, and he nodded eagerly. "Yes. Mr. White, you have a good memory. Please ask Mr. Clark to let me go. We're all friends here, what's the point of this?"

Gregory raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a cold smile. "I do have a good memory, but I don't recall the Thompson name calling the shots in Aramore."

Though his tone was calm, it carried a heavy sense of authority.

The middle-aged man's face twitched, and he shook his head desperately. "No, in Aramore, you're the absolute boss. How could I dare?"

Gregory seemed satisfied with the response, but then his eyes flashed with a dangerous cold light. "Is that so? I thought you didn't know."

The middle-aged man met Gregory's eyes and felt a wave of fear wash over him. He shrank back, nervously smiling and pleading, "Of course not!"

"Behave yourself!" Henry pressed down harder with his foot.

The middle-aged man felt like a giant stone was crushing his chest, making it hard to breathe.

He clutched Henry's leg in pain, begging, "Mr. Clark, I won't touch that woman anymore, okay? Please let me go."

Henry sneered, showing no intention of letting go. "Now you regret it? Too late!"

Gregory frowned slightly, a hint of disapproval in his eyes. "Henry, let him go first."

The middle-aged man thought he was finally saved, but what Gregory said next made him shivery all over. "Disturbing the banquet and harassing women, call the police."

The bodyguards, following the order, immediately rushed in and dragged the middle-aged man out.

The middle-aged man panicked. "No! I don't want to go to the police station. Please, Mr. White, let me go! My son is the deputy mayor of Aramore! You dare to touch me!"

Unfortunately, the bodyguards only took orders from Gregory and didn't care about the man's status.

After the middle-aged man was dragged away, the banquet hall quieted down significantly, and everyone stared at Gregory, still not having shaken off their shock.

Although the rumors said that no one dared to approach Gregory, and he had a cold and stern personality, many had never seen him in person. But seeing him up close today made them realize how influential his presence was.

Until the banquet ended, no one dared to cause any more trouble.

The host, hearing about the commotion, quickly came over to apologize, "Mr. White, Mr. Clark, we're terribly sorry. Mr. Thompson was just drunk; he didn't mean it. When he sobers up, I'll personally bring him to apologize to the lady."

Tricia quickly waved her hand. "No need, I can't afford it."

Everyone here was a big shot, and she was just a small fry. Although the matter was resolved this time, who knew if that middle-aged man would hold a grudge and cause her trouble in the future?
