Chapter 508 We'll talk about it when we get back tonight
Tricia and Maeve stayed with Abigail. Tricia joked with a smile, "I can't believe we're all married now. Back in college, we used to fantasize about what our future partners would look like."
Abigail glanced at her and retorted, "Not 'we,' but 'you.' You definitely never imagined you'd fall for someone completely different from your ideal type."
Back then, Abigail was still Roman's fiancée. Despite him being a jerk, she wanted to honor her mother's dying wish to marry him and didn't have many fantasies about marriage. In contrast, Tricia was always lost in dreams of love.
"How dare you tease me!" Tricia's face turned red for a moment, then she stepped forward, pretending to tickle Abigail.
Abigail dodged with a laugh, and the two of them started playfully wrestling.
Maeve watched from the side, unable to suppress a smile.
Soon, the wedding officially began. Many guests, mostly from high society, were seated below, including many of Gregory and Caius's business partners.
This grandest wedding in Aramore's history caused a sensation throughout Capitise, with media reporters invited to livestream the event on screens all over the city.
Online, it sparked a lot of discussion and excitement.
[This wedding is so grand! Is this really something I can witness? It's simply breathtaking!]
[This wedding is a big deal, uniting the White family with the Worthingtons' only daughter. No wonder it's so over-the-top!]
[I'm so envious. Abigail is so lucky, not only having a perfect family background but also such a wonderful husband.]
[Gregory is truly everyone's dream man. He's just too handsome!]
At the venue, the host welcomed the guests as Gregory stood on stage. His usually cold, distant face now bore a slight smile as he addressed everyone. "Thank you all for taking the time to attend my and Abigail's wedding. I hope everyone can witness our happiness."
The host continued with the ceremony, and finally, to everyone's anticipation, announced, "Now, let's welcome the bride, Mrs. White, with a warm round of applause."
Holding Caius's arm, Abigail, in her wedding gown, slowly walked down the red carpet as the symphony played. Tall and imposing, Caius exuded a calm and powerful aura, though no one knew his palms were sweating with nerves.
Having faced many significant events, this was the first time he personally walked Abigail down the aisle. Despite their limited time together, their blood bond was unbreakable, and he genuinely liked this quirky girl. Thinking about her becoming someone else's after today, he couldn't help but feel a bit sad.
Abigail had no idea what Caius was thinking. Her eyes were fixed on Gregory at the end of the red carpet, and her heart couldn't help but beat faster.
As she got closer, Abigail couldn't help but let out a small breath.
When she finally stood in front of Gregory, Caius handed her hand to him, giving it a firm pat and warning in a low voice, "Gregory, I'm entrusting Abigail to you. No matter what happens in the future, you must protect her with all your might and never let her suffer any grievances or harm. Otherwise, I won't let you off, understand?"
Gregory solemnly nodded and promised in a low voice, "Don't worry, Dad. I will love Abigail with my life."
He looked at Abigail, who met his gaze with slightly moist eyes.
He slowly smiled, and as the host went to get the rings, he leaned in and whispered to her, "Don't be afraid. I'm here."
Abigail gently nodded. After their vows, she extended her hand, allowing Gregory to place the ring on her finger.
The perfectly cut diamond sparkled brilliantly in the sunlight, and Abigail's heart felt surprisingly calm as she placed the ring on Gregory's ring finger.
Then, the host's excited and enthusiastic voice rang out, "Now, the groom may kiss the bride."
Leaning in, Gregory made Abigail's heart skip a beat. Under everyone's gaze, he cupped her delicate face and kissed her. Tightening her grip on his suit, Abigail wrapped her arms around his waist. Her nervousness slowly dissipated as she immersed herself in the moment.
Thunderous applause and cheers erupted from the audience.
Michelle stood to the side, crying, and was held by Caius.
Caius, both gratified and comforting her, said, "Alright, alright, don't cry. It's a good thing that Abigail has found her place. Why are you crying?"
Michelle answered, "I just suddenly feel like time has passed too quickly. When Abigail was born, she was so tiny and delicate, and now she's a beautiful young woman."
"Yes, the kids have grown up, and we're getting old." Caius looked at Michelle with deep affection and added, "Growing old with you is wonderful."
Michelle glared at him playfully and scolded in a low voice, "You're so improper. Is this the time to say that?"
Caius couldn't help but laugh, pulling her into his arms and giving her a heavy kiss. "We'll talk about it tonight."
