Chapter 324 Why Should I Let You Go

Seeing these photos, Abigail's tears immediately fell.

If it was just a suspicion before, now it was 100% certain that Michelle was not willing but forced.

And the culprit behind all this was Elaine.

Abigail closed her eyes tightly, a surge of hatred welling up in her chest.

She gritted her teeth, her hand holding the photos trembling uncontrollably, wishing she could tear Elaine to pieces.

And this man, although only his back was visible and his face couldn't be seen, he was also the biggest culprit in the tragedy of Michelle's later life.

Outside the door, Gregory stood with his arms crossed, leaning against the wall by the door, waiting for Abigail to come out with a serious expression.

But as time passed, there was no movement inside the room.

He couldn't help but frown, hesitating whether to push the door open and check.

He was worried that Abigail might be trapped in her own world, or even do something foolish.

He raised his hand lightly, ready to knock on the door, but stopped just before it fell.

This repeated several times, showing how anxious Gregory was.

Just as Gregory decided to push the door open, the doorknob turned, and the door was pulled open from the inside.

Abigail stood inside the door, with traces of tears still in her eyes.

Gregory was about to say something when Abigail threw herself into his arms.

Soon, a soft sobbing sound came, and Gregory's shirt quickly became wet.

He held Abigail tightly, gently patting her back, and comforted her in a low voice, "It's okay, it's all over. Stephen has already divorced Elaine, and she will be punished accordingly."

Hearing this, Abigail suddenly lifted her head from Gregory's chest, a flash of determination in her eyes as she asked, "Where is Elaine now?"

She wanted to avenge Michelle.

Gregory was silent for a moment, then took her hand and walked out, pulling out his phone to call Stephen as they walked.

More than an hour later, the car arrived in front of an abandoned warehouse in the suburbs.

Gregory got out of the car with Abigail.

Abigail looked around. This place was almost deserted, and she didn't expect Stephen to choose such a remote location.

Gregory thought she was scared and quickly put his arm around her shoulders, comforting her in a low voice, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

Abigail turned her head to look at Gregory, feeling a warmth in her heart. She whispered, "Thank you, Mr. White."

Gregory held her as they walked into the warehouse. It was really empty and dilapidated, with a bunch of miscellaneous items piled up in the corners. Only a dim light was on.

Stephen was sitting on a sofa under the light, quietly drinking.

There were empty bottles of alcohol at his feet, and a strong smell of alcohol filled the air.

Both Gregory and Abigail frowned.

Gregory called out, "Stephen."

Hearing the familiar voice, Stephen turned his head, his gaze finally landing on Abigail, his eyes brightening. "Michelle, is that you? Michelle..."

He stood up, his eyes seemingly only seeing Abigail, and opened his arms to hug her.

Seeing this, Gregory frowned even more deeply.

He stepped forward, blocking Stephen's view, and reminded him coldly, "Stephen, you're drunk. This is not Michelle, it's Abigail."

"Abigail?" Stephen murmured, seemingly already drunk and confused, trying hard to recall the name in his mind.

After a while, he reacted, "Abigail! Michelle's daughter, my daughter too, yes, my daughter..."

Gregory shouted in a low voice, "Stephen, what nonsense are you talking about? Nothing ever happened between you and Michelle!"

Stephen hugged the bottle, squatting down in sadness.

"Yeah, Michelle didn't love me. She didn't love me. I don't know what's so good about David. Why did she like that loser and not me?"

"Michelle was driven to death by David. I'm going to settle the score with him!"

"And Elaine. If it weren't for her drugging Michelle, none of this would have happened. David wouldn't have abandoned Michelle. It's all Elaine's fault!"

"No, it's my fault. It's my fault. If I hadn't fallen in love with Michelle, Elaine wouldn't have been jealous and drugged her. It's all my fault."

Stephen, like a madman, roared in a frenzy, his eyes full of regret.

He was in a sorry state, with no trace of his former gentle and elegant demeanor.

Abigail looked at him, her feelings complicated.

Logically, Stephen was the main culprit behind this tragedy, but these events were not what he had hoped for.

Even if Abigail wanted to hate, she didn't know where to start.

She took a deep breath, trying to suppress the bitterness in her heart, and asked coldly, "Where is Elaine?"

Stephen slowly raised his head, his eyes bloodshot, seemingly suppressing a surge of pain.

He pointed to the farthest corner, his voice indifferent. "Over there."

Abigail followed his finger and saw a shadow in the dark corner.

She slowly walked over and saw someone curled up, squatting in the corner.

Looking closely, she saw that it was Elaine.

Elaine's hair was messy, her clothes were torn in several places, and her exposed skin was covered in bruises, as if she had been beaten.

Seeing someone approaching, Elaine shrank back into the corner, screaming, "Don't come near me, don't come near me!"

Abigail's steps paused slightly, a trace of surprise flashing in her eyes.

She hadn't seen Elaine for a while. The last time they met, Elaine was still arrogant and haughty.

She didn't expect that in such a short time, Elaine had become a completely different person, looking utterly miserable.

She took a deep breath and tried to walk a few steps closer. "Elaine, did you ever think you would end up like this when you drugged my mom?"

Hearing this, Elaine's shoulders trembled violently, tears streaming down her face. "I didn't know, I really didn't know. Please forgive me. I didn't do it on purpose, I swear."

"Not on purpose?" Abigail suddenly laughed, her voice filled with coldness. "Was drugging me not on purpose, or spreading rumors that I was an illegitimate child?"

Elaine bit her lip hard, shaking her head desperately. "Abigail, please, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me, okay? I've already been punished!"

Everything she cared about had been destroyed one by one.

She had divorced Stephen, shattering the marriage she had painstakingly maintained for over twenty years.

Roman was also disappointing, not only failing to inherit the White Group smoothly but also being manipulated by Abigail.

Her beloved Olivia was extremely foolish, constantly causing trouble and even angering Gregory, leaving her with a bleak future.

"Forgive you? Can my mom come back?" Abigail looked at her, as if hearing the biggest joke in the world.

If it weren't for the drugging, Michelle wouldn't have been violated by a stranger.

She wouldn't have been depressed every day, getting cancer at a young age.

In the end, she was even schemed against by David, leading to such a tragic end.

'Forgive Elaine?' Abigail thought. 'Then who would forgive Michelle?'
