Chapter 57 Olivia Parker
Gregory stood outside the door and smiled slowly upon hearing these words. His deep eyes seemed very content.
He pushed open the door and walked in.
Both Roman and Abigail looked towards the door when they heard it open.
Abigail happily exclaimed, "Gregory, you're back?"
Looking at Abigail's dependent gaze, Gregory gently ruffled her hair. "Hmm, what were you talking about?"
Abigail didn't want Gregory to hear those words, so she shook her head.
"Nothing, Gregory. Is dinner ready? Let's go downstairs and eat. I'm starving."
Gregory glanced at Roman, quietly responded, and then held her hand and left.
Roman was left alone in the place, feeling stiff. He shivered, and it took him a while to snap out of it.
Gregory's gaze toward Roman was terrifying, as if he was about to kill Roman in the next second. Gregory's eyes were gloomy and fierce, making people tremble involuntarily.
Downstairs,
As soon as Abigail went downstairs, Grace grabbed her and led her to the dining room. "Today, I had the chef prepare your favorite dish. Come and try it."
So Abigail let go of Gregory's hand and obediently followed Grace.
Gregory looked at his empty palm and frowned discontentedly.
Grace couldn't help but glare at Gregory. "Don't worry, I won't run away with your wife."
Seeing Grace's teasing gaze, Gregory awkwardly touched his nose and didn't say anything.
Abigail also felt a little uncomfortable. Her cheeks were a little hot.
After they all sat down, Grace served the soup and said to Abigail, "Abigail, Gregory is usually cold; don't mind him."
Abigail quickly waved her hand and then explained to Gregory, "No, Grace. Gregory is very good to me; he is considerate."
As she spoke, she glanced at Gregory quietly and found that he was also smiling at her.
Abigail blushed, so she quickly turned her head.
Grace laughed and nodded approvingly. "I used to worry that Gregory couldn't find a girlfriend, but now I have no regrets. You two should live a good life from now on. If Gregory dares to bully you, tell me, and I'll teach him a lesson."
"Mom, am I that kind of person?" Gregory disagreed.
Grace looked at him and then said meaningfully, "You better not be, but let me tell you first, if Abigail is ever wronged, I'll be the first one not to let you off the hook."
Gregory reluctantly nodded and promised, "I'll remember."
Only then did Grace smile with satisfaction and place the filled soup in front of Abigail.
Roman came down from upstairs, looking like he had lost his soul. Seeing the harmonious atmosphere in the dining room, he had nowhere to vent his grievances and could only keep them inside, which made him very uncomfortable.
He found a secluded spot and sat down, eating his meal silently.
Grace glanced at him but didn't say anything.
Roman had never encountered much difficulty in his life, and now that he faced such a situation, it must be very difficult for him.
However, he should also reflect on himself.
Otherwise, he will always remain an immature child.
As for Jessica, the matter of Gregory and Abigail getting married had already been settled, so she naturally couldn't marry into the White family.
Jessica was Abigail's half-sister. If they both married into the White family and Gregory was Roman's uncle, wouldn't that be confusing?
Although Grace wasn't a traditional person, she also found it hard to accept such a situation.
After receiving Gregory's warning, Roman clearly restrained himself a lot.
Especially when facing Abigail, he tried his best to avoid her.
As soon as they finished dinner, he found an excuse to leave.
Watching his hurried departure, Grace slowly shook her head.
After finishing their meal, Abigail and Grace sat on the couch and chatted for a while; then, she followed Gregory home.
This time, Gregory drove personally and didn't bring a driver, so Abigail sat in the passenger seat.
She asked, "Gregory, did you bring me here because you already knew that Roman was back?"
"Yeah, Roman called me this morning and asked to borrow money, so I guessed he would definitely come back."
Abigail nodded, but she felt that things were more complex.
But she didn't continue to ask. She looked out the car window, staring at the constantly receding scenery outside, not knowing what she was thinking.
Gregory turned his head and glanced at her, then asked, "I froze Roman's card, so he has no money now. I don't know if he can pay back this money."
Abigail smiled and said, "Gregory, he is your nephew. You are really tough on him."
Gregory lightly tapped his fingers on the steering wheel and casually said, "Does he have a wife to rely on? Besides, he already owes you. No matter what, he should repay this money."
Abigail's mood inexplicably became pleasant.
A few minutes later, the car slowly stopped in front of Maple Residence's villa, and Abigail vaguely saw a figure standing not far away through the car window.
When the car approached, she could finally see that it was a beautiful woman.
The person was probably twenty-six or twenty-seven years old, with a delicate and beautiful face. She was wearing a plain white long dress. Her golden hair was scattered on her shoulders, making her look very elegant.
She was also carrying a thermos box in her hand, eagerly looking towards the villa.
After seeing the license plate number clearly, the woman smiled and waved at the people in the car, happily running over.
"Gregory, you're finally back. I've been waiting here for a long time. My legs are sore."
Her voice was gentle, and when she spoke to Gregory, she sounded a bit timid, as if she was acting spoiled.
Abigail silently sized her up, and she quickly recognized this woman.
She was Elaine's niece, Roman's cousin, Olivia.
Elaine's family was ordinary, but she was very beautiful and had means.
It was said that Gregory's brother Stephen had many women around him when he was young, and the same woman had never been by his side.
Until he met Elaine, he finally became somewhat restrained.
Elaine was a dishonest person, and she almost made Stephen listen to her in everything.
Elaine also had a younger brother. Since their parents favored their son from a young age, they always told Elaine to think of her brother when good things happened.
So, after marriage, Elaine returned many of the White family's precious belongings to her parents' house.
Even the gift Grace gave her was given to her parents without leaving a single item.
Later, her brother and his wife died in a car accident, leaving behind their daughter Olivia. Elaine directly brought her into the White Manor.
Although Olivia moved out of the White Manor after she became an adult, she often went to the White Manor to visit Elaine.
Before Abigail met Olivia a few times, she had a deep impression of her.
Abigail looked at Olivia, feeling a bit puzzled.
Why did Olivia come to look for Gregory in the middle of the night?
As soon as Abigail had this thought, Olivia said, "Gregory, I made soup especially for you tonight. I wanted you to taste my cooking skills. If you like it, I can make it for you again next time."
