Chapter 373 Once Determined, It's for a Lifetime

Unmoved by Abigail's provocation, Gregory tossed her onto the bed, then sat on the edge and pulled her onto his lap, his expression unreadable. Abigail, still confused, found herself sprawled across his lap.

Just as she was about to get up, she heard a light scolding from above, followed by the man's broad palm landing on her buttocks.

"Do you know what you did wrong?"

Gregory controlled his strength, so it didn't hurt.

But realizing what had happened, Abigail's face instantly turned red.

Had she just been spanked?

"Ah! Gregory, you jerk!"

She struggled in Gregory's strong arms, but he held her tightly, his eyes showing a hint of helplessness.

"Abigail, don't move."

His voice was low, carrying a trace of helplessness and tenderness, as if whispering in her ear. Abigail instantly quieted down like a kitten being held by the scruff of its neck.

She pouted slightly, discontented. "You're bullying me."

Who was bullying whom?

Gregory's body was still burning with desire, yet the culprit was blaming him.

He pinched Abigail's cheek. "I think you did it on purpose."

Knowing she was in the wrong, Abigail climbed off his lap with a cheeky smile and snuggled into his arms, acting coy. "Well, it's all because you spoil me. I don't care, no matter how bad I am, you have to put up with it. You tricked me into coming home in the first place!"

Gregory couldn't help but laugh. Back then, he had prepared numerous arguments to persuade her, but to his surprise, Abigail followed him home without hesitation, seemingly unafraid of being kidnapped.

Abigail also remembered that rainy night and asked, "So why did you target me back then? Even if we had feelings as kids, that was many years ago."

Gregory pulled her into his arms, adjusting her to a comfortable position, resting his chin on her shoulder, his expression inscrutable.

"Some people are obsessive. Once they decide, they don't regret it."

That's how he felt about Abigail.

She was the wife he had chosen for himself since childhood; how could he let her get away?

Abigail blinked, curiosity shining in her eyes. "So you had your eye on me since I was little?"

His deep eyes fixed on her. "Hmm. Are you scared?"

Abigail answered, "Not really, just think you're a bit of a pervert!"

With that, she made a face at him, quickly breaking free from his embrace and getting off the bed. Her fair, tender feet made a tapping sound on the floor.

Gregory pinched the bridge of his nose and reminded her with a smile, "Put on your shoes; the floor is cold."

"Got it!"

After Abigail and her group left, Linnea shattered everything in the room, from antique vases to expensive skincare products.

But even so, it didn't quell her anger.

Mireille came in to find her, frowning at the mess. "Mom, who made you so angry? Why are you so furious?"

"Who else? Who else but Darwin?" Linnea glared at her, dissatisfied. "Why are you and Bruce so useless? Otherwise, would I be this angry?"

Mireille didn't understand, but her mother continued, "That bitch Michelle, she can't have kids herself, so she found help to divide the Worthington family's assets! That bitch!"

What angered her most was Darwin's attitude.

He actually disregarded his grandchildren's dignity for an outsider!

That bastard!

After being tormented by illness for so long, why hadn't he died yet!

Hearing this, Mireille's face also darkened, clearly recalling Darwin's favoritism towards Abigail.

She, who had been by his side for over 20 years, was no match for Abigail. Why?

She sneered, "She's just from a small place like Aramore. What's so great about her? She might be a vulgar woman in private, not worth mentioning."

Linnea frowned. "I heard that Gregory is very capable, with a great business mind. Many people online compare him to the former Caius, saying he's not inferior at all. Mireille, don't provoke him!"

Mireille saw nothing to worry about. So what if he was the richest man in Aramore? He couldn't compare to the Worthington family.

But to stop Linnea from nagging, she nodded. "Got it, I'll be careful."

She couldn't touch Gregory, but she wouldn't let Abigail off easily.

The next morning, Abigail received a WhatsApp friend request from Mireille, who specifically noted her identity.

It was just a few words: [I'm Mireille, I need to talk to you]

But the arrogance was evident.

Abigail thought for a moment and accepted.

She wanted to see what Mireille was up to.

After the friend request was accepted, Mireille sent an address and texted: [Come here, I'll introduce you to my friends.]

Abigail raised an eyebrow, not understanding why Mireille's attitude had changed so much.

Her slender, fair fingers quickly typed on the keyboard, sending: [No time]

On the other end, Mireille was so angry she almost threw her phone.

Who did Abigail think she was to refuse her invitation?

How ungrateful!

Mireille took a deep breath and continued typing: [Darwin asked me to help you get familiar with Aerilon. You can't refuse his kindness, can you?]

Sure enough, Abigail hesitated.

After thinking for a moment, Abigail agreed, told Quinn and Gregory, and prepared to go out.

Quinn had his own business in Aerilon but had been working from home recently, worried something might happen to Abigail.

Seeing her about to leave, Quinn quickly stood up. "Do you want me to take you?"

Abigail shook her head. "No need, let the driver take me. You guys go ahead and work."

Gregory told the person on the video call to "pause," then looked up at Abigail. "Where are you going?"

Standing at the entrance, changing her shoes, Abigail said, "Mireille invited me to meet her friends. I'll go with Tricia later, don't worry."

Gregory frowned even more. "Wait ten more minutes, I'll take you."

He didn't trust Mireille to be so kind.

Although they had only met once, Mireille seemed like a spoiled girl who had been pampered since childhood and clearly didn't like Abigail.

Who knew what she wanted to do by inviting Abigail over?
