Chapter 499 Sweet Pea

Watching Abigail's belly grow larger over time, Gregory often pressed his face against it, feeling the movements of the two little lives growing inside.

He looked up at Abigail with a bit of anticipation in his voice. "Honey, what do you think our baby will look like?"

He could hardly imagine how much their lives would change with two more children in the house.

Abigail gently stroked his hair, pondered for a moment, and said, "I don't know, but with our genes, these two kids won't be too bad."

"That's true." Gregory nodded with a smile. These were his kids, after all; how could they be anything but great?

Just then, a pleasant ringtone suddenly rang out. Abigail glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Caius calling.

She answered it and greeted, "Hello, Dad."

Caius responded on the other end and then laughed. "How old are you now and still lying in bed? We're downstairs, hurry up and come down."

Abigail paused slightly, then realized. "You brought Mom here?"

Caius confirmed and urged her to come down quickly before hanging up.

Hearing that Michelle was also here, Abigail immediately forgot everything else and hurriedly pushed Gregory, wanting to get downstairs quickly.

She urged, "Don't stay in bed, my parents are here."

Gregory was pushed awake, reluctantly sitting up with a somewhat resentful expression. "Why are they here now? Didn't they say they would arrive tonight?"

Caius had called last night, saying they would visit today, but they arrived much sooner than expected.

The two quickly tidied up and rushed downstairs.

Caius and Michelle were sitting in the living room, enjoying coffee and chatting happily.

Looking much better than she had two months ago, Michelle was nearly fully recovered, thanks to Beckett's excellent medical skills and care.

As soon as Abigail came downstairs, she threw herself into Michelle's arms, nuzzling her gently. "Mom, long time no see, I missed you so much!"

Michelle smiled and patted her back, her eyes soft. "I missed you too, Sweet Pea."

Hearing the familiar nickname, Abigail froze slightly, then her expression turned incredulous. "Mom, did you regain your memory?"

Only the old Michelle would call her "Sweet Pea."

When she was little, Michelle loved to call her that. Hearing it again, Abigail's tears instantly fell.

Seeing Abigail cry, Michelle felt both heartache and helplessness. She gently wiped her tears with cool fingers, teasing with a smile. "Sweet Pea is still the same, always crying."

Abigail hugged Michelle again, burying her tear-streaked face into her shoulder. Michelle sighed inwardly and shot a displeased look at Caius. This was all his fault. If he hadn't drugged her and caused her memory loss, Abigail wouldn't be suffering so much.

Caius, who was inexplicably glared at, felt aggrieved.

Swearing he hadn't known Abigail was his child back then, he insisted he would never have let it happen if he had known. But it was too late now; the most important thing was to find a way to comfort Abigail.

Caius cleared his throat, looking a bit awkward, and said seriously to Abigail, "Abigail, I was wrong about this. Please don't cry. If it makes you feel better, you can hit me. I promise I won't fight back."

Abigail lifted her face and glared at him. "Will hitting you solve the problem?"

Caius's lips moved, then closed silently.

It didn't seem like it would.

Abigail snorted lightly, her voice cold. "Just take good care of Mom and don't make her sad again, and I won't hold it against you."

After all, what happened had already happened.

Caius knew he was wrong.

The most important thing was that she could see Michelle loved Caius very much, and since Caius found out Abigail was his daughter, he had never mistreated her. In fact, he had been very loving, as if trying to make up for lost time.

Hearing this, Caius's face lit up with a smile. She was indeed his daughter, and all the love hadn't been in vain.

After chatting for a while, Abigail noticed it was getting late. She instructed the chef to prepare a few of Caius and Michelle's favorite dishes and invited them to stay for a few days. They agreed, as they were worried with Abigail's due date approaching.

After lunch, Caius sat in the living room, chatting with Gregory about business. Although he no longer managed the Worthington Group, he was still very well-informed about the business world. "I heard you're working on a big project recently? Do you have enough funds?"

"Yes, thank you for your concern. If I need help, I won't hesitate to ask." Gregory sipped his coffee and thanked him with a smile.

Caius coughed lightly, feeling a bit uncomfortable. "Who wants to help you? I was just asking. Don't get any ideas."

Gregory glanced at him but didn't expose him.

Caius quickly got to the point. "By the way, Quinn is also gaining experience recently. Why not involve him in this project? I'm not trying to pave the way for him, but although Quinn is steady and talented, he hasn't managed the company for long and could use some help."

Gregory nodded seriously. "Don't worry, I will."

As they were talking, a commotion suddenly erupted outside.

Then, Michelle's exclamation and the maids' screams followed. "Oh no, Mrs. White's water just broke!"
