Chapter 382 Enviable Love

After the meal, she accidentally burped and covered her mouth, embarrassed. Thankfully, the others continued chatting as if nothing had happened, allowing her to breathe a sigh of relief.

Quinn glanced at her discreetly and said, "I brought Mireille here for another reason."

Abigail and Gregory immediately looked over.

Quinn continued, "Mireille majored in fashion design in college, and since DM is also a fashion company, Cassian hopes you can let her intern at your company for a while."

Mireille had been pampered for over 20 years and lacked experience; otherwise, she would never truly grow up.

This time she offended Abigail, but what about next time?

The Worthington family couldn't always solve her problems.

Abigail frowned slightly. "Doesn't the Worthington family have many fashion companies? Why go through all this trouble to bring her here?"

Quinn explained in a low voice, "We do have fashion companies, but everyone knows she's from the Worthington family. They wouldn't let her do any hard work. Forget about gaining experience; it would just be another place for her to enjoy life."

Mireille's face turned red as she softly retorted, "I didn't! They were the ones who wanted to please me, I didn't force them."

Quinn suddenly let out a cold laugh. "Are you still trying to argue?"

Abigail lowered her eyes, deep in thought.

After a moment, she looked up at Mireille. "You can come to my company, but I won't give you any special treatment."

Mireille was infuriated by her words, placing her hands on her hips and firmly saying, "Don't look down on me. You just don't want to reveal that I'm the eldest daughter of the Worthington family? That's not hard at all."

Abigail raised an eyebrow slightly. "It better be that way. Also, are you sure you're still the eldest daughter?"

Mireille said, "Abigail, I hate you!"

She thought, 'Why does she always bully me? So annoying!'

Looking at the almost frantic girl, Abigail couldn't help but laugh.

Gregory and Quinn exchanged a glance and shook their heads helplessly.

After finalizing Mireille's internship at DM, Quinn took her and left.

Mireille had no money, so Quinn brought her to his house.

After entering, Quinn reverted to his cold and distant demeanor, completely different from how he was in front of Abigail. "The third room on the left at the top of the stairs is yours. Don't leave your things lying around, and don't enter my room."

Mireille had always feared Quinn, especially when they were alone. If anyone else made such demands, she would have been furious. But this was Quinn—cold, indifferent, and distant.

Quinn didn't care what she thought of him and turned to go back to his room.

Mireille, too angry to speak, could only slowly drag her suitcase to her room.

The next morning, Abigail took Mireille to the HR department to report in, asking her about her knowledge of fashion design along the way.

After learning more, Abigail's opinion of Mireille improved. Mireille wasn't just a spoiled girl; she had genuinely put effort into her studies, even if some of her insights were still immature.

Seeing Abigail's strange look, Mireille felt a bit defiant. "Why are you looking at me like that? I'll definitely impress you, just wait and see."

Abigail raised an eyebrow. "Alright, I'll wait. Just don't disappoint me."

After registering at HR, Abigail took Mireille to the design department.

"Everyone, please stop for a moment. This is your new colleague, Mireille. I hope you all get along well."

Although Mireille was fierce in front of Abigail, she wasn't completely ignorant of social etiquette.

She put away her arrogance and smiled. "Hello everyone, I'm Mireille. Please take care of me."

The design department employees applauded. "Welcome, Mireille! You're so beautiful!"

"Our design department has another beauty, how wonderful!"

"Did you notice the bag on her arm? It's the latest limited edition, you can't buy it even if you have money."

"Really? Looks like she's a second-generation rich girl!"

"I've never heard of the Worthington family in Aramore. There's one in Aerilon, but they wouldn't come to Aramore."

Everyone whispered among themselves, and Mireille proudly raised her chin and gave Abigail a challenging look.

It seemed to say, "See, I'm popular. I'm the center of attention wherever I go."

Meeting her gaze, Abigail shook her head helplessly.

How childish.

"Alright, you all get to know each other. I'll be leaving now."

After Abigail left, the HR director came over and took Mireille to her workstation, assigning her some simple tasks.

Back in her office, Abigail sent a message to Quinn, telling him that Mireille was settled.

Quinn replied: [OK.]

Just as Abigail was about to turn off her phone, Gregory sent a message: [Abigail, I bought you coffee.]

Abigail's eyes lit up, and she sent an emoji back and texted: [Thank you, love you!]

Gregory couldn't help but smile when he received the message: [I love you too.]

The subordinate, terrified but staying calm, barely dared to breathe while reporting to Gregory. Gregory often smiled at his phone.

Lost in thought, Gregory suddenly looked up, his cold and sharp gaze falling on the subordinate, making him shiver.

"Sir."

Gregory put away his phone, his smile fading, and returned to his cold and distant demeanor. "Where were we? Continue."

"The sales figures for this month."

The report lasted about half an hour. Perhaps because Gregory was in a good mood, even when the subordinate accidentally reported the wrong data, he wasn't scolded.

Leaving the office, the subordinate felt the relief of surviving a disaster.

He thought, 'Thank you, Abigail! Abigail saved me!'

If Abigail hadn't made Gregory happy, his small mistake today would have cost him two months' salary.

Thank goodness, his salary was safe!
