Chapter 27 Mother and Child Conversation

Abigail calmly said, "I can agree to break off the engagement."

Elaine instantly became very happy, her expression becoming extremely excited.

In the next second, Abigail continued, "Your son must repay me for everything he owes. In addition to the benefits you gained, you should also compensate me for the mental and youthful losses I suffered by his side all these years."

Abigail's reasoning was clear. Even in the face of an elder like Elaine, she remained calm.

"Mental losses? What did my son do? Clearly, you had no abilities and yet still want money from us? You must be dreaming!"

Elaine was almost going crazy with anger.

She thought, "This is the first time I've seen Abigail act so shamelessly. Not only does she refuse to break off the engagement, but she also wants so much money."

"No? Then I'll have Grace come out and make a decision for us." Abigail wasn't surprised by Elaine's response, so she took out her phone directly.

Elaine instantly had an ominous feeling. "What do you want to do?"

"You probably haven't heard that recording. I think Grace will be very interested."

Abigail casually played with her phone, but her gaze was always fixed on Elaine's face.

Seeing Elaine's expression change drastically and her eyes becoming panicked, Abigail smiled, satisfied.
"Abigail, I warn you not to do this!" Elaine said, her chest heaving as she stared at the phone in Abigail's hand. Ever since she found out the news, she had been scared of Grace finding out about Roman's actions. Elaine thought to herself, "If Abigail actually shows the video to Grace, then all of my efforts will be in vain." Her eyes were filled with anger and humiliation. "Abigail, what do you want to achieve with this?"

"Wasn't it you who suggested breaking off the engagement? I'm just satisfying your wishes," Abigail replied, hinting that she could break off the engagement, but no one would have an easy time.

Grinding her teeth, Elaine rushed forward, trying to snatch the phone from Abigail's hand. "You bitch, how dare you? Give me your phone!"

Seeing Elaine charging at her, Abigail quickly took two steps back. But her positioning could have been better. She accidentally tripped on the coffee table; its sharp edge struck her hard on the shin, causing her to lose her balance and fall backward uncontrollably.

Abigail panicked. She closed her eyes tightly, waiting for the pain to come.

In the next moment, a warm and strong hand wrapped around her waist, firmly supporting her body. Abigail suddenly fell into a warm embrace and was stunned for a moment.

"Are you okay?" Gregory thought she was scared and immediately looked her up and down. Once he saw that she wasn't injured, he let out a sigh of relief.

Abigail regained her senses and realized that Gregory was the one who had just saved her. She quickly steadied herself and thanked Gregory, "Thank you, Gregory. Are you done with your phone call?"

"Yes. What just happened?" Gregory glanced at Elaine and frowned slightly.

Seeing him here, Elaine became very happy. "Gregory, you've arrived at the perfect time. Quick, snatch her phone away. This bitch wants to harm your nephew!"

She thought to herself, "I'm so lucky! Abigail's recording will definitely severely impact the White family's reputation. And Gregory, as the head of the White family, must care about our reputation the most. He will definitely help me get the recording."

Thinking this, Elaine cursed in her mind, "Bitch, she dares to go against me? She's too naive!"

Gregory lowered his head and locked eyes with Abigail, his emotions constantly changing. Abigail tightened her grip on the phone, thinking, "Will he stand by my side? Even though he isn't close to his brother, they are still family."

Abigail didn't know that all her expressions were very obvious, and Gregory could see them clearly. He inwardly sighed helplessly, thinking, "It seems like Abigail doesn't trust me enough."
"Mr. White, Mrs. White is not feeling well. Would it be possible for me to inform her later?" Andy hesitated to give Gregory the news.
Gregory's face turned even darker, his voice filled with anger. "No excuses, Andy! Get her down here now!"
Andy nodded nervously and left the room to find Mrs. White.
Upon seeing Gregory's gaze, Andy immediately stopped speaking and hurried upstairs to ask Grace to come down.

He understood and thought to himself, "Today, Mr. White clearly expressed his anger towards Ms. Martin."

However, he was puzzled and thought, "When did Mr. White and Ms. Martin become so close? Before, Ms. Martin would always avoid Mr. White whenever she saw him."

After Andy left, the living room became very quiet.

Gregory's presence was overpowering. No one dared to speak before he did.

After approximately five minutes, the sound of footsteps could be heard from upstairs.

Abigail looked towards the direction of the stairs, and she saw a woman in an elegant emerald green gown walking down. She carried herself with Grace and dignity.

Although her hair was gray, it was meticulously styled, and her face showed only faint wrinkles, indicating that she had taken good care of her appearance.

Just one look from her gave off an unapproachable noble aura, evoking a sense of awe from within.

She was Grace.
