Chapter 329 Cooperation Against Gregory
Roman furrowed his brows, his mind in turmoil.
Just then, his phone suddenly rang again, and it was an unknown number.
Without thinking, he hung up immediately.
However, not long after, his phone received a message from it: [Want to know where your mom is? Go to this address, she's there.]
Roman looked surprised. It was the address of an abandoned warehouse in the suburbs. Why would Elaine be there?
With countless doubts in his heart, Roman hesitated for a long time but eventually drove to the suburbs.
When he saw the scene inside the abandoned warehouse, he was completely stunned.
He widened his eyes in disbelief and let out a painful roar, "Mom!"
He rushed over, pushing away the men who were assaulting Elaine, his eyes red with anger and pain.
Elaine was already delirious, muttering incessantly, "Let me go, no, don't come near."
Roman quickly took off his suit jacket and covered Elaine's naked body, choking up as he asked, "Mom, what happened? Why are you like this?"
However, Elaine did not respond.
She had been severely traumatized and was already out of her mind.
Roman didn't care about anything else and quickly took Elaine to the hospital.
Before leaving, he glared viciously at the man, "You wait, if anything happens to my mom, I'll kill you!"
The man, however, didn't take his threat seriously, dressed himself, and left the abandoned warehouse.
After a series of examinations, the doctor confirmed that Elaine was only traumatized and didn't have many physical injuries.
Roman clenched his fists tightly and slammed them against the wall.
Regret and remorse surged like a tide, almost drowning him completely. "It's all my fault. I didn't protect her. Don't let me find out who did this, or I won't let him off easily!"
Just then, a pair of shiny leather shoes appeared in front of him.
Roman slowly looked up and met a pair of eyes filled with a smile.
He frowned and asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"
Tom chuckled softly, squatted down slowly, and said in a low voice, "You want to find out who hurt your mother? I know who did it."
"Really? You're not lying to me?"
Roman tightly gripped Tom's arm, urgently asking, "Who is it? Tell me!"
Tom's thin lips parted slightly, and he slowly uttered a name.
Roman's pupils suddenly contracted, and he shook his head in disbelief. "Impossible! You must be lying to me. Gregory couldn't have done this!"
Tom sneered, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes. "No wonder everyone said you were unreliable before. Now I see, it's true."
He had thought he could recruit a capable assistant, but Roman was so disappointing.
But it didn't matter. As long as the seed of hatred was planted, it would eventually sprout.
He had all the time in the world to play this game with them.
Roman seemed to have suffered a huge blow, his mind in turmoil, his eyes filled with pain.
'How could it be Gregory?' he thought.
Gregory might dislike him or Elaine, but he would never do something like this!
Tom seemed to see through his thoughts and couldn't help but sneer, "It's all because of your mom's foolish actions."
"What do you mean?" Roman suddenly looked up.
Tom's expression was indifferent, and he said word by word, "Abigail is not David's daughter. If it weren't for your mom, there wouldn't be Abigail."
This sentence caused a huge storm in Roman's heart.
He widened his eyes in shock, filled with disbelief. "How could this be? What did my mom do?"
His tone gradually lost confidence. No one knew Elaine better than he did.
He had also heard Elaine curse Michelle countless times.
Connecting all these things, Roman didn't dare to think further. He feared the result would be more than he could bear.
But Tom didn't care about his wishes and revealed everything.
Including how Elaine, out of jealousy, drugged Michelle and arranged for a stranger to rape her.
There were even things that Gregory and the others didn't know.
For example, Michelle had a car accident back then, and Elaine bribed the driver to tamper with the vehicle.
Or how Michelle was assaulted at social events, and Elaine was involved.
Most of the rumors about Michelle being entangled with several famous businessmen also originated from Elaine.
Although Michelle eventually died of cancer, the real cause was not just overwork but also mental anguish.
In other words, Elaine indirectly caused a large part of Michelle's death.
All this was enough to show how deep the hatred between Roman and Abigail was.
Roman lowered his eyes, and his eyes already red. "Are you saying Gregory did this to my mom to avenge Abigail and Michelle?"
Tom didn't speak, which was a tacit acknowledgment.
Roman gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with hatred, his emotions indescribably complex.
He knew Elaine hated Michelle, but he never thought she could be so vicious.
But no matter how vicious, she was still the mother who loved him the most.
Tom said, "Want revenge? I can help you."
Roman gritted his teeth and glared at the person in front of him. "What's your purpose in telling me all this?"
Don't think he didn't know—Tom had a grudge against Gregory. He just wanted to use him to get rid of Gregory!
Tom suddenly laughed, "I never intended to hide my purpose and ambition. Yes, I want to use you to defeat Gregory. So, do you want to cooperate with me?"
Roman pressed his lips together without answering, seemingly contemplating the feasibility of this matter.
Tom wasn't in a hurry and waited quietly.
After a long time, Roman looked up, his eyes fixed on him. "Why should I trust you? What ability do you have to compete with Gregory? The power he holds is not something you can contend with!"
Tom's lips curved slightly as he said, "You're not entirely stupid, but no matter how powerful Gregory is, so what? I have an irreconcilable hatred with him!"
Whatever memory surfaced, Tom's eyes were filled with overwhelming hatred.
Roman frowned.
Tom said in a deep voice, "I'll give you two days to think about it. I'll come here to find you in two days. I hope you can give me a satisfactory answer then."
After saying that, he slowly stood up and walked away without looking back.
Roman stared at his departing figure, lost in thought for a long time.
