Chapter 504 Lila Got Kissed!
Tricia helplessly said, "You haven't seen how naughty Clifford is when he's awake. If you had, you definitely wouldn't be praising him."
When Clifford was awake, his energy was boundless, and when he cried, it's ear-piercing.
She looked at Kyle and Lila, who had been awake for a while but were quietly sucking their thumbs in the crib, and couldn't help but say, "Kyle and Lila are so well-behaved, they don't cry or fuss. They grow on me."
Abigail quickly went over and poked their soft cheeks. "Awake? How come you only slept for such a short time?"
Kyle stared at Abigail with his big beautiful eyes without saying a word.
Lila waved her hand and responded with an "ah."
This almost melted Tricia and Henry's hearts.
Henry squatted in front of the crib, staring at Lila without blinking. He reached out to tease her, and seeing that she wasn't afraid of him but instead giggled, he became even more fond of her. "You have a daughter, and I have a son. How about we arrange a marriage?"
Thinking it over, Henry realized he needed to secure Lila while she was still young to prevent any future competition for his son. With no daughter of their own, he and Tricia could treat Lila as part of the family.
If Lila could become their daughter-in-law, that would be even better!
Unexpectedly, Gregory's face instantly darkened upon hearing this, and he sneered. "You want to take advantage of my daughter? Dream on!"
His precious daughter couldn't just marry any boy!
When Lila grew up, he would have to carefully consider her future. Talking about this now was way too early.
Henry didn't feel disappointed by the rejection; instead, he became more excited. "Gregory, I'm serious. Look, Clifford and Lila are about the same age, growing up together, and both families know each other well. It's perfect."
Gregory answered, "No way!"
He could agree to anything else, but this was absolutely out of the question!
His precious daughter had just been born; how could she be engaged already?
Gregory's gaze towards Henry became increasingly wary, and he directly pulled him away from the crib. "Get away from her and stop thinking about Lila!"
Henry couldn't help but laugh. "Gregory, how come I never noticed before that you love daughter so much?"
Gregory remained silent, making it clear no one could take advantage of his daughter.
Henry's thoughts were interrupted, and he could only sigh helplessly. "Alright, alright, I won't mention it again. Is that okay?"
Although he felt a bit regretful that the engagement couldn't be arranged, at least Gregory didn't actually kick him out.
Henry smiled and moved closer, staying quietly by Lila's side, watching Abigail and Tricia play with her.
The more he looked, the more he liked her. How could Lila be so adorable?
Why didn't he have a precious daughter?
Completely unaware that he was being disliked by Henry, Clifford was curiously staring at everyone in the room. When he saw Kyle and Lila, his little legs suddenly kicked, and he struggled as if he wanted to go to Lila.
Seeing this, Tricia laughed and scolded, then picked him up and placed him in the crib.
Fortunately, the crib was big enough that even with three children inside, it didn't feel crowded.
Clifford happened to be lying next to Lila, staring at her with his big beautiful eyes.
The adults thought he wanted to play with Lila, but as soon as he got close, Clifford turned his head and kissed Lila on the face.
Everyone was stunned by this scene.
Henry's eyes widened, and he almost couldn't help but shout, "Clifford, well done!"
Gregory's face darkened immediately, and he pulled Clifford out of the crib and handed him to Henry. "This is the son you raised!"
Seeing Gregory's expression, as if his daughter had been bullied, Henry suppressed his rising smile and explained for Clifford, "Gregory, he's just a child. He doesn't understand. He just likes Lila. Please don't hold it against him."
Gregory's face darkened even more, and he immediately asked them to leave, "Take your son and get out of here. Don't let me see him again!"
Clifford's audacity to bully Lila was absolutely intolerable!
Henry wanted to say something for Clifford, but Tricia suddenly tugged on his sleeve and gave him a look.
Gregory was still angry, and anything they said would only make it worse.
Besides, it was indeed Clifford's fault. How could he kiss Lila the first time they met?
Didn't he know how much Gregory cherished Lila?
Tricia apologized while holding Clifford and quickly left.
After they left, Gregory squatted alone by the crib, still looking upset.
Abigail helplessly rubbed her forehead. "Wasn't your reaction a bit too much? Clifford is just a child."
Gregory glared at her and said discontentedly, "What do you mean just a child? He's lucky he's a child, or I would have picked him up and given him a good beating!"
Daring to take advantage of his Lila, he must be tired of living!
