Chapter 235 Publicly Expressing Her Feelings
Susan was momentarily stunned, then looked at Abigail teasingly, "You're getting more and more open about expressing your feelings to Mr. White."
Thinking of Gregory, a gentle smile unconsciously appeared on Abigail's face.
The reason for her confidence was simply knowing that Gregory's love was steadfast.
A barely noticeable look flashed in Susan's eyes, and her smile turned somewhat bitter. "If only things between him and me could be like they are with you two."
Abigail was slightly taken aback. "Susan, are you having a fight with your boyfriend?"
Susan snapped back to reality, realizing what she had just said.
She hurriedly averted her gaze and shook her head. "It's nothing, just some minor disagreements."
Afraid that Abigail would ask more questions, Susan quickly said, "Ms. Martin, if there's nothing else, I'll be heading out."
Without giving Abigail a chance to respond, she turned and quickly left the office.
Abigail watched her retreating figure, her brows slightly furrowed, lost in thought.
After work, Abigail's phone rang; it was Gregory calling.
Seeing the caller ID, a faint smile unconsciously appeared on Abigail's lips.
Her voice was sweet and soft as she called out, "Mr. White!"
"Are you done? I'm downstairs," Gregory said.
Abigail's eyes lit up, and she quickly started packing her things. "Wait for me, I'll be right down!"
Hearing the voice on the other end, a hint of helplessness flashed in Gregory's eyes.
His voice was low, with a touch of gentleness. "No rush, I'll wait for you."
Abigail grabbed the coat draped over her office chair, picked up her bag, and walked out quickly.
As she closed the door, she said to the person on the other end of the line, "But I want to see you sooner."
Abigail's soft voice was as sweet as honey, making Gregory's heart soften a bit.
Sometimes, he felt a bit weak, unable to show his masculinity in front of Abigail. But who could refuse a little wife who sweet-talks you every day?
So, he accepted it all.
Even if his whole life would be completely consumed by Abigail, trapped under her control, he was willing.
While he was lost in thought, Abigail came running out of the building toward him.
"Mr. White," Abigail called out.
Gregory instinctively opened his arms and pulled Abigail into his embrace.
Gregory smiled, "Why are you so happy today?"
Abigail looked up, her eyes glistening, and blinked. "When am I not happy?"
Gregory said, "Just a few days ago, you looked so worried, like the sky was falling."
A few days ago, Abigail was very upset with the employees in the design department, and with the design competition approaching and the design drafts unfinished, she naturally couldn't be happy.
Abigail cheerfully hugged Gregory's waist and said, "The issues are mostly resolved now. Under my intimidation, those employees have become obedient!"
She wasn't exaggerating at all.
Now, everyone in the design department avoided her. Either they minimized their presence, hoping Abigail wouldn't notice them.
Abigail was very satisfied with this result.
Gregory reached out and ruffled Abigail's fluffy hair, chuckling, "Abigail is the best. Let's go home."
Gregory opened the passenger door, let Abigail in, and drove her home.
After dinner, Abigail took her drawing board and went into the room at the end of the hallway.
Although the things here were over a decade old, they were still well-preserved, without any damage.
A carpet was specially laid, and someone regularly cleaned it.
So, when Abigail closed the door and sat on the floor, she didn't feel cold.
This place held many memories of her and Gregory's childhood.
Although she couldn't remember some things clearly, staying here always calmed her down, no matter how restless she felt.
Abigail spread out the drawing paper, and ideas quickly came to her.
Her slender hand gently held the pencil, swiftly drawing on the paper.
When she focused on something, she often lost track of time.
She didn't even notice when Gregory opened the door and stood behind her.
After finishing the design draft, Abigail put down the pencil and lazily stretched.
Turning around, she met Gregory's deep, smiling eyes.
"Finished? Are you tired?" Gregory reached out to massage Abigail's shoulders, his voice carrying a hint of amusement.
Abigail's eyes brightened. "Mr. White, when did you come in? I didn't notice at all."
"You were too focused; I didn't dare disturb you." As Gregory spoke, he wrapped his arms around Abigail from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"Abigail is so talented. Even someone like me, who knows nothing, thinks your designs are great."
"Really?" Hearing Gregory's praise, a smile unconsciously appeared on Abigail's face.
Her delicate features curved into a crescent moon, and her dimples deepened, exuding an indescribable sweetness.
"Really." Gregory gently rubbed Abigail's shoulder, affirming.
Abigail was even happier.
Looking at the design draft in her hand, she also showed a satisfied smile.
But after thinking for a while, she objectively commented, "This is indeed the best piece I've drawn recently, but it still has many flaws."
Some details needed further refinement.
Moreover, this piece wasn't good enough for the design competition.
To achieve a good ranking in the competition, it had to be eye-catching and outstanding.
She still didn't have any inspiration.
Thinking about the design competition gave Abigail a headache.
Seeing this, Gregory quickly said, "Take a break. Don't push yourself too hard."
"Okay." Abigail nodded and obediently let Gregory lead her back to the bedroom.
She had a good night's sleep.
But she didn't dare relax. In the following days, she kept searching for inspiration for the design competition.
With the company's busy schedule, she was extremely busy every day.
She worked late into the night and went straight to bed when she got home.
Gregory felt both heartache and a bit of unspoken grievance.
He hadn't had a proper conversation with Abigail for several days.
During this time, every time he came home from work, Abigail was already asleep.
He couldn't bear to wake her, so he quietly took a shower and carefully held her as they slept.
