Chapter 35 Performance Investment
"I missed such a good opportunity. If I ask him for his contact information again next time, it will seem deliberate. I haven't figured out how to approach him yet."
Abigail thought for a moment and gave her some advice: "It's simple. Your foot injury is the best excuse."
Tricia supported her chin and nodded, "You're right. Do you think I can still make it back in time?"
That man was really handsome, with thick eyebrows, big eyes, and a strong build. Most importantly, he was gentle!
He perfectly matched all her fantasies about her other half!
"But you're still injured. Let's go next time. I'll take you home first."
Tricia held Abigail's arm and acted spoiled, "Abigail, I've been preparing for this stage performance for a long time, but now I can't perform. I feel so unwilling!"
Abigail knew that Tricia had signed up for the performance because a dancer was coming to watch the show.
If she performed outstandingly, there was a high chance of being chosen by that dancer.
But now...
Just thinking about how she had worked hard for two months, and in the end, all her efforts went in vain, Abigail felt sorry for her.
She comforted, "Don't worry, you will definitely have another chance in the future."
Tricia forced a smile and said, "We only have two months left until graduation, and I don't know what I'll be able to do in the future."
Her life was a mess.
She came from a not-so-great background and had a younger brother. Her parents favored boys over girls and often neglected her.
When Tricia was young, she discovered her talent for dancing, so she wanted her mother to hire a dance teacher for her. However, she received a beating instead.
Since then, she secretly went to the dance studio every day, watched others practice, and learned to dance in secret.
Later, she was accepted into Aramore University, but her parents wanted her to drop out and work to support her younger brother.
It was almost her only hope, but fate even wanted to take away this tiny hope from her.
Abigail didn't know how to comfort her, so she gently patted her shoulder and said, "You will have a chance; everything will be okay."
Tricia took a deep breath and suppressed her bitter emotions. She smiled and said, "Well, you're right. I'm not completely helpless right now. I'll think about other things once my foot injury heals."
Abigail nodded and said, "If you don't have enough money, I can lend you some for now."
"No need. My novel is about to be published, and I'll have money soon!"
Tricia raised her lips and smiled brightly.
Abigail sincerely felt happy for her and suggested, "I knew you were the best. After your foot recovers, you have to treat me to a meal!"
"Okay, I will treat you to a feast and let you eat the most expensive dishes!"
Tricia and Abigail entered the school auditorium together and found that many students had already gathered inside.
Besides the students rehearsing on stage, there were also many students in the audience seats.
Although Tricia and Abigail quietly came in, they still attracted the attention of many people.
Tricia looked around and jokingly said, "You're really popular. No wonder you're the campus belle of Aramore University."
Abigail was beautiful and scored the highest in history in order to enter Aramore University. She even studied journalism, finance, and fashion design.
Since she entered the university, she has been a popular figure on campus.
Every year, she was voted as the campus belle with the highest number of votes, which made countless girls envy and jealous of her.
Tricia looked at Abigail seriously and silently sighed in her heart. Abigail's face was really captivating.
Abigail was even more beautiful than the hottest female celebrities in the entertainment industry.
Abigail was so beautiful that Gregory definitely hit the jackpot!
Abigail leaned her little head against Tricia's shoulder and gently rubbed against it. She said, "Tricia, you are also very beautiful."
"You must be fooling me. I do have self-awareness!" Tricia was happy to be fooled by Abby's sweet words and lifted her chin. "Well, I guess I'm just average pretty."
Abigail couldn't help but laugh lightly.
Tricia thought of something and suddenly became serious. "Abigail, is your dad in the hospital?"
"Yes, how do you know?"
A few days ago, when she returned to Martin Villa, she was angered by David's biased attitude, so she said many harsh words, which caused him to have a heart attack.
But she didn't sympathize with him at all. Compared to the suffering she and Michelle had endured, it was far from enough.
She felt that these were probably David's retribution.
Tricia told the truth. "Kayla called me this morning and said she couldn't reach you. She also complained that you made your dad sick."
Abigail said to her, "If she calls you again in the future, just ignore her."
Tricia patted Abigail's shoulder with relief and said, "You did well. I have been dissatisfied with your dad for a long time. He has never fulfilled his role as a father. It's all his fault."
Abigail nodded. "Yes, I know. I won't waste my time on them anymore."
David wasn't worth wasting her feelings on.
Since the moment David sided with Jessica and even wanted her to give up the engagement for Jessica, she had completely given up on David.
From then on, they had no relationship at all.
Tricia hugged Abigail with concern and comforted her, saying, "Abigail, don't be sad. You still have me."
Abigail felt warm in her heart when she heard her comfort.
She hugged Tricia back and smiled, "Well, I'm not sad."
Because she knew that one day this would happen, she never had any hope for David.
Tricia was afraid that Abigail would be affected by the Martin family's mood, so she quickly changed the topic.
"Abigail, how have you been getting along with Mr. White? How far have you progressed? How many times did he do it in one night?"
Abigail almost choked on her saliva and coughed violently.
What!
"Tricia, what kind of dirty thoughts are in your mind!"
Seeing many people looking over, Tricia quickly covered Abigail's mouth.
"Keep your voice down. Aren't you afraid of being watched by others?"
Abigail took her hand off and said speechlessly, "You were the one who said it first. Don't slander me!"
Tricia knew she was in the wrong and awkwardly touched the tip of her nose.
"I'm just concerned about you, that's why I asked. How far have you progressed? Is Mr. White treating you well?"
