Chapter 211 Attending the Banquet

In the afternoon, Susan came to the office and said to Abigail, "Ms. Martin, there's a charity dinner tonight at the Maple Leaf Manor Hotel. They've invited you, and your gown is all set."

"Got it," Abigail said, nodding to show she understood.

After a bit, something clicked in her mind, and she turned to Susan. "Susan, you don't need to come with me tonight. I'll have Chris tag along."

Susan looked surprised, a hint of panic in her eyes, and she quickly asked, "Why? Ms. Martin, did I mess something up?"

Abigail shook her head with a smile, her eyes drifting to Susan's belly. "You're pregnant now. It's best not to wear those high heels. There'll be a lot of people at the banquet, and we don't want anything happening to the baby."

Abigail always had a soft spot for kids. Even though she hadn't planned on having kids anytime soon, it was definitely in her future plans.

How could a perfect, happy family be complete without children?

Susan didn't see that coming, and her eyes instantly welled up. She looked at Abigail, full of gratitude, and said, "Thank you for caring, Ms. Martin."

Abigail waved it off with a smile and headed back to her office.

In the evening, Abigail slipped into a stunning, sexy mermaid evening gown, got her hair and makeup done by pros, and took Chris to the Maple Leaf Manor Hotel.

This was her first time hitting a banquet as the CEO of DM, so she was a bit jittery. But with Gregory not around, she kept her cool.

Tonight's charity dinner was a big deal, and Gregory was supposed to show up too, but given his status and packed schedule, he'd probably be fashionably late.

When the car pulled up, Chris hopped out first and opened the door for Abigail. Abigail lifted her skirt and stepped out, instinctively reaching for Chris's hand without looking up. But as soon as she grabbed the hand, something felt off.

Chris was a girl, with small, soft hands that were super comfy to hold, but this hand was dry and warm, definitely a guy's hand.

Sensing something was up, Abigail quickly looked up.

Sure enough, it was Gregory!

He was all dressed up today, rocking a charcoal black suit that made him look tall and distinguished.

His hair was perfectly styled, and he had this air of elegance and nobility.

Abigail blinked, snapped out of her daze, and quietly asked, "Mr. White, when did you get here?"

"Ten minutes before you," Gregory replied, bending down to straighten her skirt.

This move made all the women with a crush on Gregory swoon again.

'This guy is too handsome! Even bending down, he looks amazing!' they thought.

The most mesmerizing were his deep, vortex-like eyes. Once he looked at you, it felt like you'd get sucked in.

Before Abigail showed up, those eyes were cold and distant, but the moment she appeared, they seemed to light up, making everyone around super envious!

Noticing the different looks from the crowd, Abigail pursed her lips and tightened her grip on Gregory's hand.

Gregory glanced down, saw her tense face, and pulled her into his embrace.

He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Don't worry, I'm here."

Abigail instinctively looked up and met Gregory's warm, encouraging eyes.

Whether it was his eyes being too tempting or the sense of security he provided, Abigail's tense heart suddenly relaxed.

Her eyebrows curved into a smile, and she beamed at Gregory. "Okay!"

In that moment, the entire banquet hall seemed to lose its luster.

Gregory's lips curved slightly, holding back the urge to kiss her, and he led her into the hall with his arm around her shoulder.

The Maple Leaf Manor Hotel was part of the White Group's properties, so the organizer was thrilled to see Gregory, even coming out to greet him personally.

Gregory kept a faint smile and politely greeted him.

The organizer was very pleased and tentatively said, "Mr. White, hope we get a chance to work together in the future."

"Sure, I'll consider it," Gregory replied.

The organizer was even more excited, feeling that hosting the charity dinner at the Maple Leaf Manor Hotel was the best decision.

Then, he turned his gaze to Abigail, his eyes lighting up. "This must be Mrs. White? Mr. White, you have a good taste; Mrs. White is young and beautiful. I heard she recently took over DM?"

Gregory looked down at Abigail in his arms, his deep blue eyes filled with tenderness. "Yes, Mr. Wilson, I heard you also have a fashion business. We look forward to working together."

Mr. Wilson immediately understood Gregory's implication and nodded repeatedly. "Of course! It would be our honor to collaborate with Mrs. White!"

After a few more words, Gregory and Abigail said goodbye to Mr. Wilson.

Just then, a waiter with a tray of drinks passed by. Abigail called him over and was about to take a glass of wine when Gregory stopped her.

Abigail glared at him, annoyed. "Can't I drink?"

Abigail's purpose for attending the charity dinner was to discuss business and seek collaborations. So how could she not drink?

The charity dinner had attracted many big names from the Aramore business community. Building good relationships with them would definitely benefit DM.

Gregory took Abigail's hand and instructed the waiter, "Bring a glass of hot milk."

The waiter looked surprised, unable to believe what he had heard.

Such an outrageous request, it was the first time he had encountered it!

'Who drinks milk at a banquet?' the waiter thought, and Abigail was on the same page.

She tugged at Gregory's sleeve, pouting in dissatisfaction. "This is a banquet, not our home. And everyone is drinking wine. If I drink milk, I'll be laughed at!"

Gregory gently rubbed Abigail's head, leaned close to her ear, and lowered his voice, "Be good, or your stomach will feel uncomfortable again."
