Chapter 231 Give a Kiss

The happier Abigail got, the more miserable the folks who had to apologize felt. They were kicking themselves for what they did. Why on earth did they mess with Abigail? Why were they so sure that if Abigail cheated on Gregory, he'd lose it and dump her? Gregory's eyes were full of love when he looked at Abigail, not a trace of a breakup in sight.

The once cocky crowd now hung their heads, muttering, "We shouldn't have picked on her just 'cause she's young."

"And what else?" Gregory's cold stare made everyone squirm.

They all sighed inwardly. Why did they have to mess with Gregory of all people?

"We were blind and misunderstood Ms. Martin."

"We shouldn't have gone after Ms. Martin based on baseless rumors."

"We won't dare cross Ms. Martin again. If she says go east, we'll never head west. If she says pick one, we won't even think about picking two!"

Abigail listened quietly. Even though they looked pretty pathetic now, she didn't feel sorry for them. If Gregory hadn't shown up, they probably wouldn't have backed off. They thought they were better than her just because they were older and more experienced, compared to someone fresh out of college.

If Abigail had been scared, they would've tried to control her. If she didn't bow down, they'd do anything to drive her out of DM.

Right now, they were just getting what they deserved.

After everyone finished apologizing, they looked at Gregory, hoping he'd let them off the hook.

Gregory lazily lifted his eyelids, glanced at them, then looked at Abigail and asked, "Abigail, still mad? I can make them keep going."

Abigail couldn't help but smile. Under their pleading gazes, she slowly shook her head. "That's enough," she said.

These people were DM's board members, and a simple lesson was enough. Pushing too hard could backfire.

Hearing this, everyone sighed in relief and quickly thanked her, "Thank you, Ms. Martin. You're so kind and forgiving. It was our fault, and we won't do it again."

Only then was Gregory satisfied, waving them off. "Aren't you leaving? Do you think what just happened wasn't enough?"

Hearing this, everyone quickly fled like they were being chased by wild beasts. Soon, only Gregory and Abigail were left in the conference room.

Abigail smiled helplessly, taking Gregory's hand and walking out. "Mr. White, why'd you suddenly show up?" she asked.

His behavior just now seemed like he knew she was in trouble and came specifically to help her.

Gregory paused slightly, not immediately answering her question but instead asking, "Why didn't you tell me about such a big issue?"

Facing Gregory's deep eyes, Abigail felt inexplicably guilty. Her eyes flickered as she explained, "I just didn't want you to worry. I could handle this small stuff myself. No need to bother you with everything..."

Before she could finish, Gregory flicked her forehead. She winced, covering her forehead, and looked up at him pitifully. "Ouch, why'd you do that?"

"To teach you a lesson!" Gregory snorted, but seeing she was really hurt, he softened and reached out to rub the spot he had flicked.

He continued, "You're always my top priority. There's no such thing as trouble. Abigail, I wish you'd always come to me when you're in trouble. At least it would show that I matter to you."

Abigail was stunned. She never expected to hear such words from Gregory. Even though his voice was steady, there was a hint of sadness and grievance in his tone.

Abigail felt a pang of sorrow in her heart. "Mr. White, thank you," she said.

No one had ever protected and cherished her like Gregory did. This feeling of being favored and carefully protected made Abigail feel like she was floating on a cloud, a bit unreal.

Gregory chuckled, "Do you really want to thank me? Then give me a kiss."

As he spoke, Gregory slowly leaned down, bringing his lips close to Abigail's, making it easy for her to kiss him.

Those deep eyes seemed to hold a thousand stars within them. Abigail stared at him blankly, her heart racing uncontrollably. Her cheeks quickly turned red, and she shyly glanced around. "No, there are so many people watching."

Even though the board members had left, many employees were passing by the conference room door. They all looked curiously in Gregory and Abigail's direction.

A hint of regret flickered in Gregory's eyes as he had to settle for second best, opening his arms to Abigail. "Then Mrs. White, how about a hug?"

Facing Gregory's eyes full of tolerance and gentleness, Abigail couldn't care about anything else and unhesitatingly threw herself into his arms.

Feeling her soft body in his embrace, Gregory's heart instantly softened. He wrapped his arms around Abigail tightly, his broad and strong hand gently patting her back. The smile on his lips showed his good mood at the moment.

Many employees passing by saw this scene and felt extremely envious. It seemed that the previous rumors were false. Abigail and Gregory were so in love, how could she possibly be interested in an employee?

Although Tom was also handsome, he was clearly no match for Gregory. Gregory was not only handsome and well-built but also powerful and influential.

So, many people took photos of Gregory and Abigail hugging and shared them on Facebook and Twitter. They wanted everyone to know that Abigail and Gregory's relationship was rock solid.

Abigail buried her face deeply in Gregory's chest, tears streaming down her cheeks and soaking a patch of Gregory's white shirt. Her slender arms tightly wrapped around Gregory's waist, as if she wanted to embed herself into his embrace.

Gregory sighed, "Didn't we solve everything? Why are you still crying?"

Abigail shook her head and said softly, "No, I just suddenly feel that I love you so, so much."
