Chapter 48 Heartbreak
Seeing that he really wanted to make a call, Jessica's eyelid twitched, and she quickly stopped him. "No need. The White family has gotten involved in this matter, so your call will be of no use."
If David really made the call and heard the truth from the Principal, it would not be good.
She absolutely cannot let that happen!
"The White family?"
David's hand, which was about to dial the phone, paused, feeling somewhat surprised.
Jessica nodded, meaning unclearly, "Abigail asked Mr. White for help; otherwise, how could Allison have been punished?"
David put his phone down and dismissed the idea of making a call.
At the same time, he felt a hint of doubt in his heart.
When did Abigail meet Gregory? Why hasn't she ever mentioned him before?
Kayla felt nervous and pushed Jessica, "Jessica, you should apologize to Abigail tomorrow. It wouldn't be good to offend the White family."
With Gregory's position in Ardmore, it's too easy to deal with the Martin family.
David became unhappy after hearing this, "What? Only Abigail knows the White family? Jessica also knows Roman!"
Jessica nodded in agreement and murmured, "Yeah, Mom, and it's not my fault."
Kayla glared at her, warning her not to say anything out of turn.
When Kayla looked at David, he still had that gentle and understanding look.
"David, don't be angry. Abigail may have been spoiled, which is why she deliberately caused trouble for Jessica. It's okay for both Jessica and me to endure a little injustice; after all, I am her stepmother."
David sneered, "A stepmother is still a mother. If she doesn't acknowledge you, then she should never come back to this house!"
How could he have such a daughter?
It's bad enough that she opposes him all the time, but now she's even bullying Jessica.
She's just going too far!
Kayla stared at him disapprovingly, "Don't say such things. Abigail is your daughter. Maybe she's just young and doesn't know any better."
David snorted and didn't say anything.
He covered his chest and laid back down.
After getting angry, he felt a heaviness in his chest, and even breathing became a bit difficult. He needed to rest for a while.
Kayla didn't bother him anymore.
In a place where David couldn't see, a slight smile of satisfaction appeared on her face.
If Abigail knew what was good for her, she would stay outside and never come back.
Just like Michelle, it would be best if she stayed far away or died.
She wouldn't let anyone stand in her way!

In the evening, Jessica left the hospital in a much better mood, having shaken off the annoyance she had experienced when she arrived.
By the time she got home, it was past 10 pm. After thinking for a moment, she decided to call Roman.
She had called Roman several times over the past few days, but he had yet to answer.
She had no hopes this time, but unexpectedly, the call went through.
Roman's voice came from the other end of the phone, full of excitement, "Jessica, we have such good telepathy. I was just about to call you, and you called me."
His phone had been lost for the past couple of days, but he finally found it today.
As soon as he got his phone back, he wanted to call Jessica.
But before he could dial, Jessica's call came through.
Upon hearing his voice, Jessica's eyes instantly turned red, and tears uncontrollably started falling.
On the other end of the phone, Roman didn't receive a response for a while and asked, "Jessica, are you still there?"
"Yes," Jessica choked back her tears and replied.
Roman could hear the abnormality in her voice and immediately grew worried. He asked anxiously, "Jessica, what happened?"
Sniffling, Jessica recounted the grievances she had suffered during the day. Lastly, she emphasized, "I don't know when Abigail became so close to Mr. White, to the point where she could pressure him to put pressure on the school. Allison didn't mean to do it..."
Upon hearing her cry uncontrollably, Roman couldn't help but feel heartbroken. He wished he could immediately fly back to Jessica's side and hold her tightly in his arms to comfort her.
In a low voice, he reassured her, "Jessica, don't cry. Gregory is definitely not someone who can't differentiate right from wrong. I'll call and ask about the situation."
"No need, Roman. I don't want you to have an unpleasant experience with Gregory because of me. I don't know what Abigail said to Gregory, but when I greeted him Today, he completely ignored me."
Sitting on the bed, Jessica's tears fell in a flurry. Her voice sounded choked with grievances.
Hearing her cry so sadly, Roman's heart felt shattered. He softly comforted, "Jessica, no, that's not true. You're so gentle and kind-hearted. Gregory will definitely like you. I'll go find Gregory later and clarify things!"
"No!" Jessica quickly interrupted him. "Your family already cares a lot about my background. If you go find him, he will definitely dislike me even more, and Abigail will definitely not be happy."
Roman felt extreme heartache, "What right does she have to be unhappy? If she had any self-awareness, she would have broken off the engagement earlier and let us be together instead of bullying you in the name of my fiancée!"
Roman's eyes flashed with disgust at the mention of Abigail. If it hadn't been for Abigail forcibly occupying the engagement, he and Jessica would have been together a long time ago. Abigail not only hurt Jessica but also bullied her friends. She was truly malicious!
Jessica sobbed, "Roman, don't say such things about Abigail. She loves you too much!"
"Love is mutual. If someone isn't loved, they should take the initiative to step back! Jessica, wait, I'll find Abigail immediately and make her break off the engagement! I want her to know that even if the entire White family likes her, I could never like her!"
Roman sneered, a hint of displeasure appearing in his eyes.
If Grace had not said that Abigail could only call off this marriage, how could he have lived so miserably? The thought of not being able to protect his beloved woman and letting her suffer because of Abigail pained him.
Jessica wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes and said with grievance, "Roman, how could Abigail, who loves you so much, ask for a divorce? Maybe we should break up. As long as you have me in your heart, I would already be content."
As she spoke, she suddenly sobbed, making herself sound even more pitiful.
Roman quickly comforted her, "Jessica, please don't cry. My heart breaks every time you cry."
But Jessica cried even harder, feeling even sadder, "Roman, I love you, but it's impossible between us..."
Roman frowned, gritted his teeth, and said, "Jessica, I will find a way to get a divorce. Stop saying silly things about breaking up in the future."
After hanging up the phone, Jessica wiped away the tears from her eyes and smiled victoriously.
She knew that Abigail had always cared about Roman.
She wondered if Abigail would still be able to feel proud after Roman proposed a divorce.
Wasn't Abigail very arrogant during the day?
She wanted to see if Abigail would still display that kind of pride in front of her after Roman abandoned her.
No one wants to marry a woman who has been abandoned. Abigail would never win against her again.
She was looking forward to that day.
