Chapter 213 Only Feel Sorry for You
Seeing the hesitation and fear in Tricia's eyes, Henry quickly said, "No need for that. If you're really sorry, just warn him. If he messes with Tricia again, he's messing with the Clark family."
Henry's voice was smooth and confident, his words making Tricia's heart skipped a beat.
The organizer nodded frantically, promising that the middle-aged man would never bother Tricia again. Only then did Henry back off.
Satisfied with the response, Henry shot the organizer a cold look, grabbed Tricia's hand, and left the banquet hall.
Watching them leave, Abigail blinked in confusion, her eyes wide with bewilderment. "What's up with them?"
Seeing her puzzled expression, Gregory chuckled softly.
He placed his large hand on Abigail's head, gently ruffling her hair, and said, "It's so obvious, and you still don't get it?"
Something clicked in Abigail's mind, clearing the fog. She widened her eyes in shock. "You mean Henry likes Tricia?"
Gregory nodded. "Yep, I've known Henry for years, and I've never seen him care about anyone like this."
But Abigail wasn't as thrilled as he expected; instead, she looked a bit worried.
Gregory bent down, pinched her cheek gently, and asked with a smile, "What's wrong? Someone likes Tricia, and you're not happy?"
Abigail wrinkled her nose and said, "What's there to be happy about? Henry's just a playboy. Is it really good for Tricia to be liked by him?"
Gregory was taken aback for a moment, then realized that while Henry might be charming and generous, he wasn't what Tricia needed right now.
Even though Gregory didn't know Tricia well, he knew she had just gone through a breakup and was in a vulnerable state.
Henry might be great in many ways, but he couldn't offer the stability Tricia needed.
Thinking of this, Gregory's heart sank. It seemed like winning Tricia's heart appeared to be a tough road for Henry.
Seeing him silent, Abigail felt even more convinced she was right. Henry was definitely not the right guy!
"I have to warn Tricia not to fall for Henry's charm!" Abigail said, reaching into Gregory's pocket.
Her dress didn't have pockets, so she had tossed her phone into Gregory's pocket earlier.
But just as she reached out, Gregory grabbed her hand, saying, "Abigail, this is between them. We shouldn't interfere."
Abigail pouted and said, "It's not your best friend, so of course, you're not worried!"
Gregory chuckled, "True, my only concern is you."
Abigail was stunned for a moment, her face turning red, and she glared at him. "I'm talking about serious stuff here!"
Gregory nodded. "So am I."
Gregory's eyes were locked on Abigail, like two deep whirlpools that could pull her in if she wasn't careful.
Abigail blinked and reluctantly looked away.
In a low voice, she warned, "Gregory, don't try to seduce me!"
She couldn't help but want to kiss him.
Gregory kept his eyes on Abigail's flushed cheeks, not missing a single change in her expression. Hearing her words, he laughed out loud.
His voice was low and sexy, and his chest rumbled when he laughed.
Abigail's cheeks were on fire, and she rubbed her ears awkwardly, feeling a tingle run through them.
"Gregory, cut it out! Stop laughing at me!" Abigail said.
As soon as she finished, a warm, strong hand wrapped around her waist, pulling her into his arms.
Caught off guard, she crashed into his solid chest.
Looking up instinctively, she saw Gregory gazing down at her, his deep eyes reflecting countless stars. "I'm not laughing at you, I'm just happy."
Abigail huffed, "What's there to be happy about? I think you're just laughing at me!"
'So what if I was momentarily dazzled by Gregory's good looks? There's nothing wrong with being infatuated with my own husband,' Abigail thought to herself.
Feeling her softness in his arms, Gregory's heart melted completely.
He lowered his head and gently kissed Abigail's forehead, his lips curling up slightly. "Not laughing, just liking. I like how you get all worked up for me."
Abigail blinked and asked, "Really?"
Gregory chuckled, his lips slowly moving down, landing on Abigail's flushed eyes, cheeks, and finally her lips.
Abigail wrapped her arms around Gregory's shoulders, stood on tiptoe, and kissed him back eagerly.
The guests who hadn't left the banquet saw this and couldn't help but gape in shock.
But no matter how excited they were, they didn't dare make a sound, afraid of disturbing Gregory.
After a long time, Abigail felt like she could hardly breathe from the passionate kiss. Gregory let go of her lips and asked with a smile, "Can you still walk?"
Abigail's ears were red, and she buried her face in his chest, whispering, "No, my legs are weak."
Gregory was stunned for a moment, then laughed again, even more heartily than before.
Abigail covered her face and punched Gregory, warning him to stop laughing.
She wished she could find a hole to crawl into and never come out.
It was so embarrassing; she felt deeply ashamed that a kiss had made her legs weak. She wondered if anyone else in the world had experienced such a thing.
Seeing her genuinely embarrassed, Gregory, both helpless and amused, silently restrained his smile. But his slightly trembling shoulders revealed his current joy.
On the other side, after leaving the banquet hall, Tricia stared at the tall figure in front of her for a moment, then quickly shook off her reverie and returned to her senses.
She forcefully shook off Henry's hand, her expression uneasy. "Thanks for today. I'm heading home now."
Henry regretfully withdrew his hand, his tone suddenly urgent. "Let me take you home."
"No need, I'll just grab a cab. It's late, Mr. Clark, you should get some rest." After speaking, Tricia didn't dare look at Henry's eyes again. She lifted her skirt and was about to leave.
But after taking just two steps, a hand suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her back forcefully.
Tricia, unprepared, crashed into Henry's arms.
She was stunned for a moment, then quickly stepped back, awkwardly asking, "Mr. Clark, do you need something else?"
Henry asked, "You're going to take a cab dressed like this? Aren't you afraid of getting harassed again?"
Tricia pressed her lips together, not saying anything, clearly a bit scared.
