Chapter 99 Wife

When Abigail woke up the next day, she felt a strong gaze she couldn't ignore.

She opened her eyes and saw Gregory propped up on his arm, staring at her without blinking.

As soon as he saw she was awake, Gregory smiled. "Morning, girlfriend."

That one word brought back all the memories of yesterday for Abigail.

Her cheeks turned red, and she glared at him. "Don't call me that. I'm not your girlfriend!"

Gregory grabbed her wrist and raised an eyebrow. "If not girlfriend, then what? Wife?"

He leaned into her, his voice casual and a bit husky from just waking up, making it even more alluring.

Abigail's cheeks reddened again. She pulled the covers over her head and whispered, "Stop calling me that."

He had no idea how tempting he was.

Even the simple word "wife" made her heart race.

She used to be conservative and had many suitors, but no one was like Gregory—gentle yet assertive, breaking down her defenses without her realizing it. By the time she noticed, she was already deeply entangled.

Gregory laughed, tugging at the covers. "Don't suffocate yourself."

But Abigail held on tightly, refusing to come out. If her suitors at school saw her like this, they'd be shocked.

Seeing she wouldn't let go, Gregory pulled her, blanket and all, into his embrace.

"Are you shy?" he asked.

"No, I'm not," Abigail whispered.

Gregory's eyes sparkled with amusement. "If that's the case, I'll call you 'wife' a few more times. Wife, wife..."

After a few more calls, Abigail couldn't take it. She threw off the covers and covered Gregory's mouth.

"Stop calling me that," she warned.

It was too embarrassing.

Even though it was a normal term, when Gregory said it, it sounded seductive.

Gregory took her hand away and kissed it.

Afraid she'd get angry, he stopped.

But he was thrilled. Ever since Abigail agreed to start a relationship with him last night, he couldn't sleep.

He often stayed up late for work, but this was different.

Now that Abigail was awake, he couldn't wait to show his happiness.

Before she could react, Gregory pinned her down and kissed her.

Abigail's eyes widened in disbelief. She instinctively wanted to push him away, but Gregory held her wrists above her head.

She had no choice but to endure his passionate kiss. Surprisingly, she didn't dislike it. She even liked it a little.

His kiss felt different from his usual self, but it seemed like his truest nature. The so-called gentle and humble exterior was just a facade.

After a while, Abigail's breathing became labored, and her lips and tongue started to tingle. Only then did Gregory let her go.

But he didn't get up immediately. His hand stayed firmly on her waist.

His hot breath on her neck and behind her ears felt like electric currents.

Abigail tried to shrink away, but she couldn't move.

As she shifted slightly, Gregory's deep voice said, "Don't move."

His voice was huskier, with a hint of restraint, like he was holding something back.

Sensing danger, Abigail froze.

After a long moment, Gregory finally exhaled deeply and got up.

His pajamas were in disarray, his belt loosely tied, and his chest exposed, showing his strong abs.

Abigail's cheeks burned. She took one look and quickly looked away.

Gregory noticed and smiled, heading to the bathroom.

Soon, the sound of running water filled the room.

Abigail patted her flushed face and pulled the covers over her head.

When Gregory came out, he walked to the bed and gently said, "Abigail, I have to go to work."

Abigail pretended to be asleep, but Gregory knew better. She was probably still feeling shy.

He leaned in, pulled the covers off her, and kissed her forehead. "I'll bring you your favorite cake tonight."

Abigail's eyes popped open. "Really?"

Gregory laughed. So, a piece of cake was more important than him?

He nodded. "Really."

Her eyes sparkled. "Thank you, Mr. White!"

Gregory pretended to be displeased. "Still calling me Mr. White?"

Abigail playfully blinked. "I'm used to it."

Gregory's eyes turned meaningful. "Alright, there will be plenty of chances for you to call me husband in the future."

Her cheeks turned red again, and she pushed him. "Mr. White, you should go to work. Come back early."

"Get some more sleep. I'm leaving," Gregory said, ruffling her hair before getting up to leave.

Ralph was waiting in the living room. As soon as he saw Gregory, he walked over. "Mr. White, breakfast is ready. Would you like it now or wait for Mrs. White?"

Gregory replied, "I'm not eating. I have a meeting this morning. Let her sleep a bit longer, don't disturb her."

This morning's kiss had left Gregory wanting her to rest well.

Ralph misunderstood and smiled ambiguously. "Don't worry, Mr. White. I'll have the kitchen prepare some nourishing food for Mrs. White whenever she wakes up."

Gregory found this statement odd but couldn't figure out why. He nodded and left.

After he left, Ralph's smile deepened.

It seemed Gregory and Abigail's relationship was progressing well.

Maybe Abigail would be pregnant soon!
