Chapter 39 Disputes and Infighting
Abigail didn't finish her sentence, but Gregory understood.
He had heard Grace say that although Michelle had great business talent, her initial dream was to stand on stage and play the violin.
When she met David, she was the principal violinist of a famous orchestra.
Later, Michelle gave up her dream of love and started a business with David.
Although David had ambitions, he had no talent for business.
Michelle had to study various financial knowledge desperately to become David's assistant.
She did her best and devoted herself to David, but she forgot that some men couldn't accept the fact that their women were stronger than them.
Thinking of these past events, Gregory sighed silently in his heart, walked up to Abigail, and gently rubbed her hair.
"Abigail, Michelle will definitely see it."
"Yeah, I believe that too."
Abigail smiled sweetly, her eyes sparkling.
The next afternoon, Abigail arrived at the school an hour early and was about to go to the backstage dressing room to change clothes when she suddenly ran into someone she least wanted to see - Jessica.
There was also a girl standing next to her who looked about the same age. She was fairly pretty, but her facial expressions seemed a bit harsh.
Abigail thought for a moment and remembered that this girl seemed to be Jessica's friend, Allison Green.
She had originally wanted to pretend not to see and walk past.
But Jessica had no intention of letting her go like that and immediately called out to her, "Sister, you're here?"
"Who is your sister?"
Abigail didn't want to waste time talking to Jessica and was about to walk away.
Jessica's eyes suddenly turned red, and she said to Abigail, "Abigail, I know you're still resenting me..."
"Since you know, don't come near me. You did something wrong, didn't properly reflect on yourself, and still blame me? How dare you?"
Jessica originally wanted to pretend to be weak and victimized, putting herself in a vulnerable position to gain sympathy from others, just like she used to do. But before she could even start pretending, Abigail mercilessly exposed her.
Her sad and aggrieved expression froze on her face, and she looked at Abigail in disbelief. From afar, she seemed somewhat ridiculous.
Abigail's gaze was sharp and cold. She sneered and warned, "Stop pretending in front of me. I won't be fooled by you anymore."
Jessica noticed that people passing by were curiously looking at them, and her face immediately became awkward. She sniffed, her eyes becoming moist, and looked pitifully at Abigail. "Abigail, I know I've wronged you, but Roman and I are in love. I hope you can bless us."
Abigail suddenly turned around and took two steps towards Jessica. Jessica didn't know what she was planning to do, but she instinctively sensed danger and unconsciously moved backward.
Abigail noticed the change in her expression, and her smirk became even stronger. "Are you so afraid of me?"
"Abigail, I..."
"So you're also afraid? Do you really need my blessing? After all, you and Roman have done everything you shouldn't have done, haven't you?"
Jessica expected Abigail to be more moderate and relentless. She felt more and more nervous when meeting Abigail's murderous gaze. She kept moving backward, wanting to defend herself, but found that her throat seemed to be blocked. She couldn't say a word.
She was on the verge of collapse. Why did Abigail become so intimidating? Previously, Abigail had always been weak. No matter how much she suffered, she would keep it to herself. As long as she slightly portrayed herself as a victim in front of others, everyone's hearts would lean towards her, and Abigail would also become the target of everyone's criticism. Why didn't it work this time?
When did Abigail change? Or has she been pretending all these years? She's really cunning.
Abigail saw the fear in her eyes, sneered, and warned her, "Don't come looking for me again. If you provoke me, there's no guarantee that you can marry Roman."
After speaking, she turned and walked away, leaving Jessica with a persistent and chic figure.
Jessica stared at her back, her mind blank. It wasn't until Abigail walked far away that Jessica realized she had been holding her breath nervously. Only then did she know that she had almost suffocated herself.
Allison was also scared; her face was pale as a ghost, and she patted her chest with lingering fear.
"Jessica, Abigail is going too far. How could she say such things about you?"
Jessica glanced in the direction Abigail had left, a trace of resentment flashing in her eyes.
But she quickly adjusted her emotions and forced a smile, saying, "I'm fine, Allison. Don't say such things about Abigail. Maybe she still loves Roman. That's why she's mad at me."
Allison felt somewhat dissatisfied seeing Jessica being wronged and defending Abigail.
"Jessica, you are just too kind. That's why she's acting so arrogant!"
Jessica lowered her gaze and slowly said, "After all, she is my sister, and I wronged her first. It's all my fault."
If Allison had felt indignant on behalf of Jessica just now, her anger had now reached its peak.
She grabbed Jessica's hand and said angrily, "Jessica, this is not your fault. True love is never wrong! Abigail is just narrow-minded; she doesn't deserve Roman at all."
A cunning glint flashed in Jessica's eyes, but she maintained a frowning expression, pretending to be hurt.
Allison continued, "Jessica, just wait and see. I won't let Abigail off the hook. I want to see if she can still be so arrogant then!"
Jessica looked worried, "Allison, please don't do anything stupid for my sake."
Seeing Jessica still concerned about her, Allison felt both distressed and touched.
She softly reassured her, "She has bullied you like this. If I turn a blind eye, then I don't deserve to be your friend!"
Jessica blinked her moist eyes, full of tenderness and gratitude, "Allison, you are so good to me. I'm lucky to have you as my friend."
Allison felt happy being praised by Jessica, her cheeks slightly flushed, and she became even more convinced that her decision was right.
She promised, "Jessica, just wait and see. I will handle things properly!"
Jessica's lips curved imperceptibly, a hint of resentment flickering in her slightly narrowed eyes.
But she couldn't blame herself for it. If there's anyone to blame, it's Abigail for being too arrogant. Even outsiders wanted to stand up for her!
She cautiously asked, "Allison, what are you planning to do? Please don't act impulsively. Don't end up getting hurt yourself."
"Don't worry, I'll be careful. You focus on your performance. Leave these matters to me."
