Chapter 195 If It's True
As soon as Henry brought up Tricia, he lost it!
He'd never met anyone as awful as Tricia! She drove him nuts!
"What happened? What's the deal with you two?" Gregory asked, confused.
"I..." Henry stuttered, at a loss for words.
He couldn't possibly admit that Tricia had forced him into a relationship, only to ditch him and quickly move on to someone else!
How humiliating!
"Long story short, Tricia and I are sworn enemies. I'll never forgive her, ever!" Henry declared.
Gregory went quiet, leaning back in his leather office chair, his fingers drumming on the armrest, deep in thought.
Henry felt a pang of guilt, worried that if Gregory kept digging, his reputation might take a hit.
So, he casually said, "Don't worry, I've already had HR handle it; we're hiring Tricia."
Before Gregory could respond, Henry hung up, looking pretty stressed.
Gregory stared at his phone for a while, then shook his head, exasperated.
He tossed the phone aside and told Leo to call back the employees for the meeting they hadn't finished.
After the meeting, he quickly dealt with the paperwork on his desk and drove to DM.
Even though it was only a 20-minute drive, it felt way too long.
'How awesome would it be if we could work together?' Gregory thought to himself.
The black Maybach rolled up in front of the DM building, catching the eyes of passersby.
When Gregory stepped out, people were stunned by his striking features.
But Gregory's cold, stoic vibe made people hesitant to approach him.
Gregory was used to the stares and walked into the DM building calmly.
The DM employees knew him, nervously greeting him.
Gregory nodded slightly, responding in a calm voice, and quickly walked into the elevator.
The elevator went straight to the 35th floor, and as the doors opened, Gregory ran into Tom standing outside.
Gregory raised an eyebrow and stepped out.
Tom smiled, "What a coincidence, Mr. White. I didn't expect to see you so often at DM during work hours."
Gregory remained calm, a slight smile playing on his lips. "Abigail is the owner of DM, and I'm her husband. Is there anything wrong with me coming here often?"
This company was left by Michelle and inherited by Abigail. David had long cut ties with Abigail and was no longer the chairman of DM.
Tom nodded with a smile, slowly approaching. "Gregory, your love for Abigail is truly deep. I just wonder if Abigail feels the same about you."
As soon as he finished, Gregory rushed over, grabbed his collar, and pinned him against the wall. "If you've got a problem, take it up with me. Picking on a woman is no skill."
Tom's head hit the wall hard, his face turning red, but he couldn't help but laugh. "Gregory, you really haven't changed a bit."
Gregory sneered, "Neither have you, still as shameless as ever."
Just then, a voice called out from behind, and hurried footsteps approached.
"Mr. White, what are you doing?" Caspian asked.
"Mr. White!" Abigail exclaimed.
Hearing her familiar voice, Gregory's back stiffened for a moment, and he quickly let go of Tom's collar.
He straightened his slightly rumpled suit, giving Tom a cold look with a silent warning in his eyes.
Tom adjusted his clothes too, smiling. "It's nothing, we were just having a little sparring match."
Abigail glanced at Tom, then pulled Gregory into the office.
Caspian frowned and couldn't help but ask, "Tom, be honest with me, do you have a thing for Ms. Martin?"
Tom was caught off guard, then chuckled softly. He didn't answer directly, which Caspian took as a yes.
Caspian sighed, patting Tom's shoulder. "Tom, I get it, you young folks are all about risking it for love, but Ms. Martin is married. You should keep it professional at work."
Tom nodded. "Don't worry, Caspian, I know what I'm doing."
Caspian finally looked satisfied.
In the office, as soon as the door closed, Gregory pulled Abigail into a tight embrace.
Leaning against the door, his long arms wrapped around her slender waist, he rested his chin on her shoulder.
Abigail gently patted his back, asking, "Mr. White, what's wrong? Are you upset?"
Gregory shook his head, nuzzling her cheek. "Nothing, I just missed you."
Abigail was surprised, then laughed. "We see each other every day."
Gregory held her tighter, as if trying to merge her into his very being. "It's not enough. Sometimes I wish I could put you in my pocket and take you everywhere," he said.
Abigail felt incredibly happy, her lips curling into a smile. "Who sticks together all the time? They say distance makes the heart grow fonder."
Gregory frowned, clearly not liking that idea. "What distance? I don't want any distance between us."
After a pause, a mischievous glint flashed in his eyes as he whispered in her ear, "I only accept negative distance!"
Abigail's cheeks instantly flushed, like blooming roses, delicate and vibrant.
She playfully slapped Gregory, trying to break free from his embrace. "What nonsense are you talking about? This is the office."
If someone heard, she would be mortified!
Gregory stepped back half a step but kept his hand on her waist, smiling as he admired her shy expression. "This is just the beginning; you can't even handle a simple sentence. If it were real..."
Before he could finish, Abigail quickly covered his mouth.
She glared at him, warning, "Gregory! If you dare say anything more, I'll kick you out!"
Seeing her genuinely embarrassed, Gregory quickly raised his hands in surrender.
He took Abigail's hand, kissed it, and smiled reassuringly. "I won't say it, I won't say it."
Abigail huffed softly, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Gregory. "Did you ask Henry? What exactly happened?"
Although she didn't know Henry well, she knew he wasn't the type to deliberately make things difficult for a girl. There must be some misunderstanding.
Seeing her immediately ask about Henry, Gregory was instantly displeased. "Shouldn't you be concerned about your husband first?"
