Chapter 130 Share Transfer Agreement

Abigail barely touched her breakfast before dashing out.

Ralph wanted to say something, but the car sped off before he could.

All that was left was a trail of exhaust.

Watching the car disappear, Ralph shook his head.

Kids these days didn't take care of themselves, even skipping breakfast.

Back in the day, a meal was a luxury.

In the car, Abigail sneezed while flipping through documents. She asked the driver to turn up the AC.

The driver quickly did.

They soon arrived at a standard apartment complex. Abigail headed straight to the sixth floor, following Loren's address.

A kind-looking, slightly plump woman named Emily Schneider opened the door.

Emily was momentarily stunned but then smiled, "You must be Abigail. Have a seat; Loren's on a call."

"Thank you, Mrs. Schneider."

Abigail smiled and sat on the living room sofa.

Emily was very hospitable, bringing her water and fruits from the kitchen.

Abigail thanked her repeatedly.

Loren finished his call and stepped out. When he saw Abigail in the living room, he was momentarily stunned, almost mistaking her for Michelle if not for her youth.

Seeing Loren staring, Abigail called out, "Loren?"

Loren snapped out of it, "Ms. Martin, it's been a while."

When Abigail called him yesterday, it had taken him a few seconds to react.

Abigail smiled and got to the point, "Loren, I'm here about my mother's inheritance."

Loren's expression turned serious, "Ms. Martin, let's discuss this in the study."

Abigail nodded and followed him.

Loren took a document from the safe and handed it to Abigail, "Your mother entrusted me with this. You're now of age to inherit it, but about the marriage requirement..."

"Mr. Schneider, I'm already married," Abigail interjected.

Seeing Michelle's will, Abigail trusted Loren more.

Loren looked surprised, "Married? When did this happen? I hadn't heard."

Since Michelle's passing, he had been keeping an eye on 'DM' and the Martin family but hadn't heard about Abigail's marriage.

However, news of Abigail breaking off her engagement with Roman had been everywhere recently.

Upon thinking of Gregory, Abigail's expression softened, "Yes, I got married recently. He treats me very well, and I'm very happy."

Seeing her sincerity, Loren was genuinely happy for her.

"Your mother would be happy to know you're doing well," he commented.

Abigail smiled and nodded, feeling relief instead of her usual heaviness.

Loren copied the proof materials Abigail had brought, then took out the will for her to sign.

After signing, Abigail asked, "Mr. Schneider, when can I get the money?"

Loren was taken aback, "As soon as the paperwork is done. Are you in trouble? Why the hurry?"

Abigail shook her head, "I'm worried my dad and stepmom will try to get the money, so I want it ASAP to avoid any issues."

Just thinking about how Kayla had had a stranger, Robert, propose to her for the inheritance made her feel sick.

Loren, knowing the Martin family's drama, got angry, "They owe everything to Michelle. It's bad enough they don't treat you well, but they're always scheming."

Abigail organized the documents and smiled at Loren, "Mr. Schneider, that's all in the past. No one controls me now."

After organizing the papers, she remembered something, "Mr. Schneider, my mom's inheritance included 15% of the DM Group's shares. Why isn't it in the documents?"

Loren was surprised, "Weren't the shares already transferred?"

Abigail was shocked, "Impossible! When did this happen?"

Loren went to the safe, found a share transfer agreement, and said, "When you turned eighteen, David came with this agreement, saying you signed it."

Abigail looked at it and was stunned. It was her handwriting, but she didn't remember signing it.

Seeing her distressed, Loren asked, "Are you sure you didn't sign a share transfer agreement?"

Abigail shook her head, "I only signed a document letting David temporarily exercise shareholder rights. I checked it carefully; there were no issues."

Loren frowned, thinking.

Abigail reviewed the transfer agreement once more and noticed an anomaly: the top left corner originally had a single staple mark, but the last page now bore two, suggesting tampering.

She recalled an incident from four years ago. After turning eighteen, she had argued with Jessica, who then pushed her into a freezing lake. She had gotten a high fever and had been hospitalized, feeling groggy.

Usually, David blamed her for everything, but at that time he hadn't. He had made Jessica apologize and visited her daily, with Kayla bringing chicken soup.

One day, David brought two documents for her to sign. One was for an apartment near her school, a birthday gift, and the other was the agreement for him to exercise shareholder rights.

Abigail had checked it carefully; it had just been an agreement for David to exercise rights, not a transfer.

Loren's expression was serious, "Ms. Martin, it seems David tricked you."

Abigail asked urgently, "Isn't it illegal to swap contracts? Plus, I wasn't even of legal age when I signed."
