Chapter 65 Going Further

Gregory was caught off guard, but once he got what Abigail meant, he couldn't stop laughing.

He lay back on the bed, his chest shaking with laughter, clearly in a great mood.

Abigail had no clue why he was laughing, but her cheeks got hotter by the second.

She shot him a frustrated look. It was his fault!

Gregory stopped laughing, reached out, and pulled her into his arms.

Abigail instinctively tried to pull away, but then she heard his deep, husky voice above her. "Think of it as me wanting a normal relationship with you, like any other couple. We rushed into marriage. I want to give you time to adjust and make up for what we missed, so there are no regrets."

After a pause, Gregory added with a hint of suggestion, "Of course, if you want to 'take it further', I'm all for it."

Abigail looked up, confused. "Can you still date after getting married?"

Gregory nodded firmly. "If you want to, we can."

Facing his serious gaze, Abigail felt the urge to run.

But before she could, Gregory wrapped his arms tightly around her waist.

There was no escape.

She felt a bit helpless. "Mr. White, you have to give me some time to think about it, right?"

Gregory thought for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah, you need some time."

Abigail felt a surge of joy and tried to slip away.

But Gregory held on. "Three minutes, think about it."

Abigail's eyes widened, and she puffed her cheeks in anger. "That's too short! I don't want that."

Gregory was firm. "Ten minutes, no more."

"Still too short," Abigail said.

Gregory asked, "Then how long do you need?"

"A month," Abigail replied.

Gregory frowned. "No, that's too long."

Abigail asked, "Then half a month? Ten days? A week? Can I have a day?"

Gregory nodded, satisfied. "Okay!"

Abigail angrily clenched her fist and hit him, but he grabbed her wrist.

Gregory pulled her close. "Sleep."

Abigail wanted to argue, but Gregory had already closed his eyes.

She felt a stifling frustration with no outlet.

In the end, Abigail was too tired and fell asleep in his arms.

---

At the hospital, after being hung up on, Elaine stayed in the hallway for a while before calming down and returning to the ward.

When she entered, Olivia was lying on the bed with an IV.

Seeing Elaine, Olivia's eyes lit up. "Aunt Elaine, did Gregory agree to come see me?"

Elaine sat by the bed and slowly shook her head. "No."

Olivia's face fell, and she looked like she was about to cry.

Elaine frowned and said helplessly, "Olivia, you should've expected this, right?"

"No, it's Abigail. She won't let him come! Please call him again. I want to talk to him myself, okay?" Olivia looked at Elaine with sad eyes, holding her hand tightly.

Seeing her like this, Elaine didn't want to discourage her, but she was more afraid Olivia might really consider suicide.

She steeled herself and said, "Even without Abigail, he wouldn't like you. Otherwise, he would've been with you long ago."

At first, Elaine had also thought about letting Olivia marry Gregory.

But over the years, no matter how hard she and Olivia tried, Gregory never gave Olivia a second glance.

Honestly, Elaine had already wanted to give up.

Gregory's heart was colder than anyone she knew. He either liked someone or he didn't.

So no matter how hard Olivia tried, it was pointless.

Unfortunately, Olivia didn't see it that way.

She stubbornly believed Abigail's arrival had ruined all her plans.

Over the years, Olivia had thought about giving up and tried to get along with other men.

But she always ended up comparing them to Gregory.

And they always fell short.

In her eyes, Gregory was perfect.

He came from a prominent family, was handsome, wealthy, and controlled the entire White Group.

If Olivia had a son, he would inherit the White Group.

Then, everyone would have to flatter her.

Olivia had lived in poverty for years, suffering humiliation and abuse.

She couldn't take it anymore!

From the first day Olivia entered the White family, she was determined to marry into it.

Only a man like Gregory could give her everything she wanted.

Other men just weren't good enough.

Elaine didn't expect her to be so stubborn and kept trying to persuade her. "Why are you so foolish? You even tried to commit suicide. If the servant hadn't found you in time, you would have died."

Olivia didn't say anything, but inside, she was very disdainful.

She cherished her life and would never really commit suicide.

She had a habit of drinking milk before bed, and every night at ten, a servant would bring her hot milk.

This habit was very fixed.

Olivia had timed it perfectly and deliberately cut her wrist.

When the servant came with the milk and found the door locked, they knew something was wrong and got the spare key.

Plus, she had researched that as long as she didn't cut the artery and controlled the force, there wouldn't be a big problem in a short time.

She had thought that if she attempted suicide, Gregory would definitely feel guilty.

But he didn't show up at all!

All her plans had failed, which was infuriating!

Olivia secretly hated Abigail, believing she was the reason Gregory couldn't come. 'Why Abigail?'

Elaine didn't know what Olivia was thinking and continued, "There are so many men in the world. Why don't you find someone else to like? Gregory is very heartless. Liking him won't lead to anything."

Olivia shook her head. "Impossible! Aunt Elaine, tell me, what do I lack compared to Abigail? Gregory would rather be scolded than marry her!"

Elaine was silent. She couldn't understand it either.

The first time she heard Gregory say Abigail was his wife, she was stunned.

She didn't think much of Abigail because the Martin family was in decline, and Abigail wasn't favored at home.

David had no sons, so all the family assets would likely go to Jessica in the future.

So in her eyes, Abigail wasn't even good enough for Roman.

If Abigail wasn't good enough for Roman, she was even less suitable for Gregory, who controlled the entire White Group.

Olivia grabbed Elaine's hand and pleaded in a low voice. "Aunt Elaine, please help me. I must marry Gregory."

Elaine hesitated.

"Aunt Elaine, if it weren't for Abigail, Roman wouldn't have become a laughingstock in the elite circles, and his bank card wouldn't have been frozen. Are you really willing to let her go?"
