Chapter 465 Don't Agitate a Man in the Morning
Listening to his subordinates' report, Gregory couldn't help but pinch the bridge of his nose. "I entrusted you with the overseas business, but that doesn't mean I don't care. Is this the result of six months of hard work? I hired you at high salaries, and your work isn't even up to the standard of recent graduates!"
Although Gregory usually kept a stern, expressionless face, he rarely got truly angry. This time, it was clear they had really pushed him. His deep, fluent, and sexy voice now carried a hint of hostility.
The subordinates hung their heads low, not daring to make a sound.
At this moment, the quiet study suddenly had the sound of a door opening. Then, the door gently opened a crack, and a head peeked in. "Gregory?"
Gregory paused and looked towards the door. "Why are you awake?"
Abigail pushed the door open and walked in, heading towards the desk. Gregory opened his arms and pulled her onto his lap.
She hugged Gregory's neck tightly, rubbing her face gently against his shoulder, and said, "I woke up in the middle of the night and didn't see you. I knew you must be working again. No matter how busy you are, you need to take care of your health."
Gregory held Abigail's hand, playing with it in his palm. The seriousness and gloom on his face had mostly dissipated.
Listening to the concerned voice in his ear, Gregory felt a warmth in his heart and responded softly, "Okay, I promise you, I'll go back to rest now."
On the computer screen, all the employees were stunned, unable to believe that the man who had just been yelling at them had suddenly changed his demeanor.
They looked at Abigail with eyes full of tenderness.
Just when they didn't know what to do, Gregory shot them a sharp glance, scaring them into shivering again.
But fortunately, the expected rage and scolding did not come.
Gregory just gave them a cold look and said, "I'll give you three more days. If you can't give me a satisfactory answer, you're all fired!"
After saying that, he didn't care about their reactions and directly turned off the computer.
Abigail was still in a half-awake state. When she couldn't find Gregory upon waking up, she instinctively went to the study.
Now she was finally a bit more awake and said to Gregory, "Were you busy just now? Did I interrupt you?"
Gregory picked her up like a child and walked out of the study. "No, I was about to finish. They are just too useless, never doing the tasks I give them properly. Your appearance was timely, or I can't guarantee I could control my temper."
Hearing this, Abigail felt relieved, hugged Gregory's neck, found a comfortable position, and closed her eyes. "That's good. Get some rest early. It's already very late, even a strong body can't take it."
Gregory chuckled softly and replied, "Okay, I'll listen to you."
He carried Abigail back to the bedroom, placed her on the bed, held her in his arms, and soon fell asleep.
The next morning, Abigail opened her eyes and found Gregory leaning against the headboard, handling work.
She stretched lazily, snuggled up to Gregory's strong waist, and rubbed against him. "Good morning, darling!"
Gregory leaned down and planted a kiss on her forehead, his eyes deep and gentle. "Good morning, darling."
Abigail smiled at him, the sunlight highlighting his chiseled face with a faint glow. It was breathtakingly captivating. Unable to resist, she wrapped her slender arms around his neck, preventing him from leaving.
Gregory paused, losing his focus on work, changed his position, and pressed Abigail beneath him, kissing her.
After a long time, Abigail was almost out of breath from the kiss, her eyes misty, glaring coquettishly at the culprit.
She had tasted the consequences of her actions!
Gregory, in a good mood, leaned in and pecked her swollen lips again. "Who told you to seduce me first thing in the morning? Don't you know that men are easily aroused in the morning?"
Abigail looked at him displeased. "That's for other men. You can't be aroused at any time!"
Gregory couldn't help but laugh heartily, leaning on Abigail's shoulder, looking carefree. "You're right. When it comes to sexual prowess, I've never lost to anyone."
This sounded too arrogant, but Abigail had experienced it firsthand. Although she didn't know how others were in this regard, Gregory was indeed insatiable.
Thinking of something, Abigail's face instantly turned a delicate, alluring red—indescribably tempting.
Gregory's Adam's apple bobbed slightly, and he reluctantly looked away, saying seriously, "Let's talk business. The police called and said they did a comprehensive psychological test on David and confirmed that he has no mental issues."
A hint of surprise flashed in Abigail's eyes. "So, he was pretending to be crazy before to make us lower our guard?"
Gregory answered, "You could say that."
They had been too careless.
Gregory's eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of fierce anger flashing in them.
