Chapter 443 Only You in My Heart

Abigail shrank her neck slightly, her guilty expression shifting into a soft, endearing smile as she looked up at Gregory. "Darling, I was just joking. Don't take it seriously."

"Really? It sounded pretty genuine to me." Gregory raised an eyebrow, his tone skeptical.

Abigail grabbed the hem of his shirt, tugging gently in a playful manner. "I was kidding, I promise. You're the only one in my heart."

As she spoke, she blinked innocently, her luminous eyes sparkling like stars, their beauty captivating.

Gregory reached out, grasping her slender wrist firmly, and pulled her into his arms with a slight force.

Caught off guard, Abigail let out a small yelp, finding herself suddenly perched on Gregory's lap.

In such an intimate position, and in front of so many people, Abigail flushed with embarrassment and instinctively tried to wriggle free.

But Gregory held her securely, his deep voice commanding, "Don't move."

He leaned in, his lips brushing her ear as he lightly bit her earlobe, his husky tone sending shivers down her spine. Abigail recognized his mood and stopped resisting. Satisfied, Gregory smiled faintly, resting his chin on her shoulder and inhaling her familiar scent.

She stood with her back against Gregory's chest, their bodies fitting seamlessly. She felt the subtle change in him. Meeting the teasing glances around them, Abigail's cheeks flushed deeply.

Henry, smirking, couldn't resist a jab. "I've never seen a couple more shamelessly in love than you two."

Without missing a beat, Gregory retorted coldly, "Then stop looking."

Henry's expression froze, his comeback dying on his lips. He thought, 'Fine. Not like I wanted to anyway.'

As Henry thought of Tricia and then glanced back at Gregory and Abigail, he couldn't help but feel a pang of longing.

Meanwhile, Mireille and Quinn exchanged a glance, both clearly envious.

Breaking the tension, Quinn cleared his throat and announced, "Alright, everyone must be hungry. I had some fresh ingredients delivered earlier—we're having a barbecue tonight."

Abigail's eyes lit up immediately, her earlier embarrassment forgotten. "Barbecue? I love it!"

Henry groaned in protest. "Why barbecue? Couldn't it be something like sushi?"

Mireille chimed in, her voice dripping with discontent. "Or French cuisine! Why isn't there any?"

Unbothered by their complaints, Quinn shrugged nonchalantly. "Majority rules."

Both Henry and Mireille exchanged skeptical glances. They looked at Abigail and Gregory, then back at Quinn, and sighed in resignation. That was a possibility.

Barbecue won three to two. Despite most of the staff being off-duty, the group found fresh ingredients and quickly set the table together.

Abigail, excitedly rubbing her hands together, suggested enthusiastically, "Let's add extra chili!"

Gregory frowned in disapproval. "You're pregnant. Should you really be eating spicy food?"

Abigail waved dismissively. "The doctor said a little spice is fine as long as it's in moderation."

Henry supported her. "She's right. When I took Tricia to her prenatal checkup, the doctor said the same thing."

Gregory, though still hesitant, finally relented. "Alright, but just a little."

Abigail's face brightened instantly.

As the tantalizing aroma of grilled food filled the air, Gregory carefully prepared the dishes Abigail liked, ensuring everything was perfectly cooked.

Since it was Abigail's favorite meal, Quinn had gone out of his way to source the finest ingredients, making the barbecue not only delicious but also a memorable feast.

When they finished eating, the group raised their glasses in a lighthearted toast.

"Although today isn't a special occasion. It's not often we all get together like this. To the future, cheers." Henry began.

Abigail, holding a glass of warm milk instead of wine, smiled wryly but clinked glasses with everyone. "Cheers."

Later, Abigail turned to Quinn, her tone turning serious. "Quinn, let's have a drink."

Quinn looked at her curiously, lifting his glass as she continued, her voice tinged with emotion. "I'm sorry for deciding you should inherit the company without discussing it with you first. If it ever becomes too much, let me know. I'll talk to Dad."

Caius had always been strict about training his successor. Even though Abigail had experienced it herself, she could imagine how much Quinn had been struggling during this time.

Quinn, caught off guard by her apology, gently shook his head. "You don't need to apologize. It's my responsibility to make sure you don't carry that burden alone."

Abigail felt a lump in her throat as tears welled up in her eyes. She threw her arms around Quinn in a heartfelt hug. "Thank you, Quinn."

Quinn stiffened briefly at the unexpected embrace, then softened, patting her back in reassurance. "There's no need to thank me, Abigail. We're family."

Abigail's eyes reddened as she nodded emphatically.

Gregory watched from the side, feeling a pang of jealousy seeing Abigail in another man's embrace, but wisely chose not to interfere.

After a hearty meal, everyone was full. Quinn sat in the living room, brewing coffee for them. The steam from the hot water softened his stern features. His long, slender fingers holding the fine cup exuded an indescribable allure.

Abigail and Mireille rested their chins on their hands, watching intently, finding the scene quite pleasing.

As Quinn focused on making the coffee, he suddenly looked up, meeting their eager gazes. His thin lips curved into a slight smile.

He placed the freshly brewed coffee in front of them. "Want to try?"

Abigail waited until the coffee wasn't too hot, then took a small sip. The rich aroma spread through her mouth with a hint of sweetness.

She nodded appreciatively. "Tasty."

Quinn's smile deepened. "If you like it, I'll make it for you again."

Just then, a cold glance swept over him.

Turning his head, he met Gregory's warning look and couldn't help but chuckle. "This one's for you."

Gregory took a sip and nodded. "Not bad."

Though Quinn could be infuriating, Gregory had to admit, the coffee was excellent.
