Chapter 481 You guys continue
Getting in the car, Gregory's phone rang. He checked the caller ID, then answered. "What's up?"
Henry's voice was full of joy and excitement. "Hearing Quinn is back, do you want to come over? It's been a long time, and I miss him a little."
"Quinn is back? When did that happen?" Gregory was slightly stunned. How could Quinn not inform them of such a big event?
Henry replied, "He should be back today. He's probably still at the airport and will be here soon. He must be busy with something and will leave again soon, so he didn't notify us."
Gregory thought for a moment, then looked at Abigail beside him.
Meeting Abigail's puzzled gaze, Gregory said, "Alright, we'll head over right away."
After hanging up, Abigail curiously asked, "Was that Henry? What's going on?"
Gregory gave her a reassuring look and explained, "Quinn is back. Henry asked if we wanted to go over to Quinn's place."
"Sure, but why is he back at this time?" answered Abigail.
Gregory's long fingers tapped the steering wheel casually as he replied, "He's probably heading back to Aerilon overnight. After all, he's now in charge of the Worthington Group and is busy every day. It's already great that he has time to come back."
Abigail thought about it and felt that what he said made some sense.
About ten minutes later, Gregory drove to Quinn's villa and took her inside.
Both he and Abigail knew the password to Quinn's house, so they could enter anytime even if no one was home.
As soon as they opened the door, it was indeed pitch black inside.
Holding Abigail's hand, Gregory felt his way to the light switch by the door. The crystal chandelier illuminated the living room, revealing the couple embracing and kissing in the dark.
Noticing the lights, Quinn quickly turned his head, meeting two pairs of astonished eyes. Abigail and Gregory never expected anyone inside, let alone Quinn embracing a woman and kissing her on the sofa.
Kneeling on one knee on the sofa, Quinn leaned down, holding the woman's delicate face with one hand while supporting himself with the other, trapping her in a dominant posture. In contrast, the woman looked even more petite and fragile—pitifully so. And that woman was none other than their acquaintance, Maeve!
Frozen in place, Abigail couldn't describe her feelings. Just days ago, she had wondered why Quinn treated Maeve so differently. Now, all her questions were answered—Quinn clearly had ulterior motives. Anger flushing her face, she was about to speak when her vision went dark.
Gregory had covered her eyes with his hand. "Don't look."
Abigail remained silent.
It's not like she hadn't seen people kissing before, why be so cautious!
Abigail gritted her teeth and pulled Gregory's hand away from her eyes, giving Quinn a forced smile. "We have something to do, so we'll leave now. You two continue."
Saying that, she tried to pull Gregory away.
"Wait," Quinn called out to stop them.
He looked a bit embarrassed, quickly stood up, and straightened his slightly wrinkled suit, trying to act calm as he asked, "Why are you guys here?"
Unprepared for this, Quinn pinched the bridge of his nose, unable to describe his feelings after his first kiss with a woman was witnessed like this.
Abigail and Gregory stopped. She awkwardly said, "Henry told us you were back today, and we thought we hadn't seen you in a long time, so we came to check on you."
They didn't expect to witness such an awkward scene.
It was neither appropriate to stay nor to leave.
Abigail cursed Henry in her heart hundreds of times, still unable to quell her anger.
Quinn nodded, covering his mouth with a fist and lightly coughing to ease the awkwardness. "Then come in and sit. I'll get you some water."
Abigail and Gregory exchanged glances, silently asking if they should stay or go.
Gregory glanced at Maeve, whose cheeks were flushed, and said in a low voice, "No, we have something to do, so we'll head back. We'll talk another time."
Saying that, he pulled Abigail away.
Quinn held a cup, shaking his head helplessly.
Maeve buttoned up her shirt, which had been undone earlier, looking uneasy. "Mr. Worthington, if there's nothing else, I'll leave now."
She stood up, ready to leave, but Quinn stopped her. "Wait a minute."
Maeve nervously stopped, asking, "Is there anything else?"
Quinn stepped closer, stopping just half a step away from Maeve. "Are you afraid of me?"
Maeve quickly shook her head. "No, no, how could I be afraid of you? You have been kind to me, you're my benefactor, I..."
Before she could finish, Quinn interrupted with a frown. "You know that's not what I want to hear."
