Chapter 245 Overtime

Circe had always been strong-willed, and no matter how prestigious the other party was, she never changed her attitude.

At this moment, her stance was even more unyielding.

Louis opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but in the end, he said nothing.

Circe was right; he couldn't find any evidence to prove that Abigail had cheated.

But even so, he wouldn't change his mind.

To produce such an excellent piece in just half an hour was absolutely impossible!

Even he, a top designer in the fashion industry for over 20 years, might not be able to do it.

How could Abigail, a 20-year-old girl, possibly do it?

So, when the judges' scores were announced, everyone else gave Abigail's work a 9 or even a perfect 10.

Only Louis gave a score of 2.

Abigail was momentarily stunned when she saw Louis's score.

She was about to say something when a staff member beside her asked first, "Mr. Anderson, can you tell me why your score is so different from the other judges'?"

Louis sneered and said, "Maybe the judging standards are different. To me, a piece created through cheating is worthless!"

The whole room was in an uproar. The audience began to murmur, some in disbelief.

"Abigail actually cheated?"

"No wonder she could produce such a good piece in just half an hour!"

"Plagiarism! Shameful! Don't pollute our industry!"

"I used to think she was pretty, but I didn't realize she was so devious!"

"As the CEO of DM, instead of running the company well, she engages in such shady behavior. From now on, I will never buy her brand's clothes again!"

The audience was almost entirely cursing, and everyone looked at Abigail with disgust.

Some were so angry that they threw things at the stage.

Fortunately, Abigail noticed in time and instinctively took two steps back, successfully dodging.

Looking at the things thrown at her, Abigail's face darkened.

Gregory, sitting in the audience, looked even more severe.

His hand, casually resting on his knee, clenched into a fist, ready to rush to the stage to protect Abigail. But Abigail gave him a reassuring look.

He hesitated for a moment, then sat back down.

Since Abigail wanted to handle it herself, he would continue to watch.

If the situation became uncontrollable, he would step in.

No matter what happened, he would always be Abigail's strongest support.

Always.

Abigail withdrew her gaze and coldly scanned the audience, who were still discussing.

At this moment, Olivia mocked, "Abigail, you finally got what you deserve!"

Abigail glanced at her indifferently, saying nothing.

A light, emotionless look that sent a chill down Olivia's spine. She pursed her lips, raised her chin arrogantly, unwilling to show weakness in front of Abigail.

Olivia exclaiming, "What? Am I wrong? Just wait for your failure."

Abigail looked at her and suddenly smiled, "Then let's wait and see."

She had never cheated. She submitted a complete design draft in half an hour because she had a sudden burst of inspiration.

If these people insisted on blaming her, she didn't mind letting them understand the true meaning of facing the consequences!

Olivia couldn't stand her arrogant demeanor and couldn't help but sneer.

'What is she so proud of? Just being stubborn!' Olivia thought.

She didn't believe that Abigail, at such a young age, could truly be that skilled in design.

Even well-known figures in the industry wouldn't dare to boast that they could produce an excellent design draft in half an hour. Why could Abigail do it?

At this moment, a judge in the audience asked Abigail, "Ms. Martin, can you tell me if you cheated?"

"No," Abigail said firmly.

Louis sneered, his tone unkind. "How could you produce such an excellent design draft in half an hour?"

Even when questioned, Abigail remained calm. She lightly said, "Just because you can't do it doesn't mean others can't."

This was the first time Louis's professional ability had been questioned, and he immediately became furious.

He slammed the table and shouted at Abigail, "How could a newcomer like you have such strong skills? Is it for publicity, to promote your company?"

The audience was in an uproar again.

The media and reporters all pointed their cameras at her, their eyes gleaming with excitement.

It looked like there would be big news today!

Abigail said, "Although DM is on the rise, we wouldn't use such means to tarnish our reputation. But Mr. Anderson, do you insist I cheated just because my skills are strong?"

Louis said, "If you want people to believe you, then show some evidence."

Abigail asked, "Why should the accused prove their innocence? Before I provide evidence, shouldn't Mr. Anderson show some evidence for his accusation?"

Louis couldn't possibly have any evidence and was immediately at a loss for words.

Everyone else looked at each other, and no one spoke first.

At this moment, Circe sneered, "Since you can't provide evidence, what else do you have to say, Mr. Anderson?"

Louis was extremely embarrassed in public, his expression becoming very unpleasant.

He stubbornly said, "I can't find evidence for now, so I demand a thorough investigation, especially of those close to Abigail."

As he spoke, he glanced in Thomas's direction.

Everyone knew that Thomas was a professor of fashion design at Aramore University and Abigail was his student.

Meeting Louis's gaze, Thomas was immediately furious. "Louis, what do you mean? Are you accusing me of leaking the exam questions to Abigail?"

"Isn't that the case?" Louis sneered, "How else do you explain Abigail completing the work in such a short time?"

Thomas opened his mouth, about to say something, when Abigail said, "How about this, since everyone has their own opinions, I propose a rematch, with you setting the questions on the spot."

A live rematch had never happened before! But no one could think of a better solution.

This proposal was also accepted by most of the judges. Only Louis's face changed drastically upon hearing it.

"No, I don't agree!" said Louis.

Everyone's eyes turned to him.

Abigail crossed her arms and looked at him calmly. "What? Mr. Anderson, what are you afraid of?"

Louis retorted, "Who says I'm afraid? Let's have a competition. I want to see how you handle it!"

Abigail smirked, "Alright, then let's wait and see."

After all, she wouldn't be the one to lose face in the end!
