Chapter 374 Mireille's Plan Failed

Abigail hesitated as she glanced at the computer screen in front of him, showing a conference room full of employees waiting for him to start the meeting.

She pursed her lips and shook her head, saying, "No need, you go ahead and do your thing. Tricia is with Henry. If you're worried, you can have him join them."

"That works." Quinn nodded.

Despite his occasional rudeness, Henry's reliability put the two pregnant women at ease.

After getting their approval, Abigail waved goodbye to them and quickly left.

Gregory stared at her until her figure disappeared, then he looked away.

"Alright, let's continue the meeting."

Quinn also returned to his work.

About half an hour later, Abigail and Tricia met in front of a high-end club.

Henry looked at Tricia with concern and confirmed once again, "Are you sure you don't need me to go in with you? Although this is a private club with decent security, no one can guarantee what that spoiled and capricious Mireille might do."

Since confessing his feelings, Henry no longer pretended around Tricia. While he used to steal glances, fearing she'd notice and avoid him, now he gazed at her openly.

Confident that Tricia would be his, he saw no harm in admiring his future wife a bit more.

Tricia felt uncomfortable under his gaze, her cheeks slowly turning red with embarrassment. "No need, just keep your phone on. If I run into any trouble, I'll call you."

Her friend was Caius's daughter. With his backing, no one would dare mess with them.

Abigail put her arm around Tricia's shoulder and teased, "Don't worry, I promise to bring your Tricia back safe and sound."

The blush on Tricia's face spread to her ears. She elbowed Abigail and gave her a warning look. "Shut up, how am I his?"

"Alright, I won't say anymore." Abigail's smile deepened, and after saying a word to Henry, she pulled Tricia inside.

In the private room, Mireille was surrounded by a group of friends, all talking at once.

"Is it true that Caius is adopting a child? And a girl? What's he thinking?"

"If Abigail really becomes part of the Worthington family, wouldn't she be on the same level as you?"

"Didn't anyone object? Isn't Darwin known for valuing bloodlines? How did he agree so quickly?"

"I think Abigail must have bewitched Caius!"

Mireille was getting annoyed and shouted at them, "Enough, stop talking about that woman!"

At her words, everyone fell silent, not daring to speak.

They exchanged glances, and one of them smiled ingratiatingly at Mireille. "Mireille, don't be angry. We're just worried about you. How could someone of such low status be on the same level as you?"

"Yeah, when she gets here, we need to teach her a lesson!"

Listening to their flattery, Mireille's mood gradually improved, but she still felt a bit stifled. "You're right. When she gets here, I need to teach her a lesson, so she knows that even if she has Caius and Darwin's favor, she's not fit to be part of the Worthington family!"

Just as she finished speaking, a clear and pleasant voice came from the doorway. "Is that so? If you're so dissatisfied, why not say it to Grandpa and my Dad's faces instead of badmouthing me behind my back? Is this the Worthington family's upbringing?"

Mireille turned sharply to the doorway, her expression shifting instantly. "When did you get here?"

She thought, 'Damn it! The appointment is for 3 PM, why did she come 15 minutes early?'

Abigail smiled slightly, her expression calm. "It's basic etiquette not to be late for an appointment. Doesn't Mireille know that?"

Mireille's face twisted with anger at the clear insult to her manners.

She gritted her teeth, eyes blazing, but recalling her plans, she forced a faint smile. "Abigail, we don't need so many formalities between us. Please, have a seat."

Abigail raised an eyebrow, surprised that Mireille could hold back so well.

But now was indeed not the time to fall out.

She pulled Tricia to sit down together, and Mireille introduced, "These are all my friends, all noble ladies from high society. Abigail, you should get to know them."

Then, she suddenly covered her mouth as if she had misspoken, "I forgot, Abigail's background isn't great. I heard your family only has a small company. You probably haven't met so many nobles before, right?"

Before Abigail could say anything, she continued on her own, "When we host parties in the future, I'll make sure to bring Abigail along."

Seeing her high-and-mighty attitude, Abigail burst into laughter, quickly joined by Tricia, while Mireille's smug expression lingered.

She frowned slowly, pouting in dissatisfaction. "What are you laughing at?"

Tricia's expression instantly turned cold. She crossed her arms and squinted slightly, as if looking at an idiot. "Of course, we're laughing at your ignorance!"

"What do you mean?"

"If you want to mock Abigail's background, you should at least do your homework first, right? Abigail may not come from a great background, but she became the CEO of DM right after graduation, which is far better than you nobles who only rely on your parents," Tricia said.

Several people exchanged glances, then turned to Mireille, wondering why she hadn't mentioned Abigail was the CEO of DM.

Mireille's face darkened as she realized she hadn't investigated Abigail. To her, Aramore was insignificant compared to Aerilon, and Abigail's wealth couldn't rival the Worthington family.

But she never expected Abigail to be the CEO of DM!

Mireille felt utterly humiliated.

Tricia didn't forget to add, "By the way, the dress you're wearing must be expensive, right? But do you know it was designed by our Abigail and produced by DM? If you look down on Abigail so much, how can you have no shame wearing her designs?"

Mireille glanced down at the dress she had bought a few days ago, spending her entire allowance on it. Despite the expense, she couldn't resist because she loved it.

The material was comfortable, the style and cut were innovative, and the designer had added many thoughtful details.

When she got the dress, she couldn't put it down and wore it today to show off. Realizing it was designed by Abigail filled her with shame.
