Chapter 411 Interrogation

Michelle's words caught Abigail's attention, and she blinked curiously. "Dad, if the ring is lost, can't you be the head of the family anymore?"

Caius turned to look at Michelle and sighed. "The ring, actually, I lost it. Back then, to pursue your mother, I gave her the most important thing."

After he and Michelle unexpectedly got involved, he initially thought she had deliberately seduced him to get into his bed.

But later, he met her again at an event and found her to be clear-headed and well-organized, even when facing many business tycoons, she remained neither humble nor arrogant.

He could never forget that day she wore a light blue dress, her eyebrows and eyes were like a painting, and her face was full of confidence.

His gaze was uncontrollably attracted to her, and he gradually became infatuated.

Later, Michelle was harassed, and he saved her when he passed by.

It was also that time that they finally stopped being at odds whenever they met.

He knew very well that Michelle was not the kind of woman who liked to play tricks.

Because Michelle didn't even want to look at him more than once, this realization made him depressed for a long time.

Later, knowing that she was not happy after marrying David, he suggested taking her away.

But Michelle refused and even held the last bit of hope for David.

Darwin called him back to handle the company issue. Fearing Michelle would forget him, he gave her the Worthington family heirloom ring. When she lost her memory, the ring disappeared.

Reflecting on these events, a wistful melancholy flickered in Caius's deep eyes.

Abigail hoped Michelle would regain her memory, but he feared she'd blame him and return to David.

Life without Michelle was unimaginable.

Abigail didn't know those past events, but hearing Caius's words, she always felt like she was missing something.

She scratched her head, and before she could think deeply, Gregory's call came in. "Didn't get anything out of him, but I suspect it has something to do with Emrys and Cassian."

Abigail pursed her lips, reminded him to be safe, and then hung up the phone.

Caius looked up, glanced at Abigail through the rearview mirror. "What? Did Gregory get any results?"

Abigail shook her head. "No, that person seems to have had special training or has something held over him by the people behind the scenes."

"I see. I'll take you back first, and then I'll go check it out myself." With that, Caius stepped on the gas, and the car sped away.

After dropping Michelle and Abigail home, Caius drove straight to the Frost Mansion. He had only recently discovered that Gregory had become the new head of the Frost family.

Caius once had a good relationship with the Frosts, with numerous business dealings. But over time, they grew more reclusive, and contact dwindled. Now, it seemed Gregory was not to be underestimated.

The Frost Mansion was in a remote location, accessible only through a bamboo forest, with the villa majestically set by the lake. The serene landscape spanned thousands of square yards, exuding grandeur.

When Caius arrived, two bodyguards at the entrance promptly welcomed him. As he walked through the estate, he couldn't help but marvel at the surroundings, thinking the Frost family truly knew how to live in style, befitting their status as the former top family in Elysium.

He was led by the bodyguards into a basement, which, although damp and dark, was brightly lit, somewhat like the secret passages of ancient noble families.

It looked very mysterious.

The group finally stopped in front of a closed door, the bodyguard opened the door, and made a "please" gesture.

Caius walked in, glanced around, and finally fixed his gaze on Gregory.

Gregory was sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed, the warm yellow light shining on him, giving him a mysterious halo.

His slender fingers held a cigarette, the scarlet light flickering, blending with the surrounding murderous aura, making him look very intimidating.

Hearing the footsteps at the door, Gregory turned his head and slowly stood up. "Dad."

Caius nodded, sat down beside him, and focused on the person lying on the ground, beaten half to death, barely breathing. "Still hasn't confessed?"

Gregory shook his head, cursing under his breath, "This guy refuses to reveal the mastermind."

Caius looked at the man, a trace of bloodthirsty killing intent flashing in his deep eyes. "Who sent you to kill Darwin?"

He was met with silence.

The man's breathing was weak, he could barely open his eyes.

Seeing him not answering, Caius stood up and walked to him.

"Not answering? No problem, I'll ask, you can answer as you like." Caius seemed not to care whether he answered or not, asking on his own, "I'll ask you again, who sent you?"

The man still kept his eyes closed, not even his eyelashes trembled.

Caius continued, "Emrys? Or Cassian?"

The man's eyelashes suddenly trembled quickly, although the movement was small and fleeting, it was still caught by Caius.

"Oh, so it seems to be Cassian." Caius's thin lips curved slightly, confidently stating the answer.

The man suddenly opened his eyes, staring straight at Caius.

Caius seemed to see through his thoughts at a glance. "Are you wondering how I knew, or why I'm so sure?"

The man still kept his lips pressed, saying nothing.

However, Caius's next words shocked him once again."Oh, so it seems you want to know both." Caius raised his hand, grabbed the man's chin, and said slowly, "It's no harm to tell you, I studied criminal psychology, I can judge what a person is thinking through their micro-expressions."

This was not a secret in the Worthington family.

When Caius was young, he was arrogant and unruly, not willing to be controlled.

Darwin knew he had a talent for business and wanted him to inherit the company.

But at that time, Caius was rebellious and defiant, the more he was told to do something, the less he wanted to do it.

So, he secretly studied criminal psychology, wanting to join the police force.

But in the end, he was still caught by Darwin and brought back to inherit the family business.

So, what the man in front of him was thinking couldn't be hidden from him.

The man's psychological defenses were gradually broken, and soon he couldn't help but cry and tell the truth.

So Cassian had taken the man's family hostage, threatening to kill them if he disobeyed.

Satisfied, Caius cast the man aside and reached for the bodyguard, then remembered this wasn't his territory and the guards weren't his.

He helplessly rubbed his forehead and said, "Wet wipes, a handkerchief will do."

He had a cleanliness obsession.

The man just now was covered in blood and dirt, all of which had gotten on his hands.
