Chapter 44 Denial

This violin sound gradually quieted down the previously noisy and chaotic audience.
All the audience members were attracted by Abigail on the stage, staring at her without blinking.
In the instant Abigail appeared, Jessica's smile froze.
She couldn't believe her eyes, then looked at Allison, "Didn't you say you locked her up?"
Allison's face turned extremely pale.
She stared at Abigail on the stage, unable to believe what she was seeing.
She desperately shook her head and explained, "I did lock her in the fitting room, and to be safe, I even locked the door outside the fitting room..."
She thought that what she did was flawless and there would be no loopholes.
Who knew Abigail would still come out?
Allison quickly sat up straight, her eyes fixed on Abigail's clothes.
Because of nervousness, her hands clenched into fists, and her knuckles turned slightly pale.
But no matter how long she stared, Abigail's clothes did not burst open.
How could this be?
Why was this happening?
Jessica glared at her fiercely, then looked reluctantly at the stage.
Abigail on the stage was radiant and dazzling and immediately attracted everyone's attention.
Her beautiful white trailing gown highlighted her temperament, making her look even more holy.
The mournful and melodious violin music was even more tear-jerking, full of crying and emotions.
After the song ended, everyone was immersed in a sad mood and couldn't calm down for a long time.
Gregory, who had been missing for a long time, had already returned to the audience. He looked up and stared at the people on the stage without blinking.
This was the first time he had seen such a high-profile Abigail.
Although he maintained calm on his face, his heart had been pounding nonstop.
If it weren't for the fact that this was a public occasion, he would definitely rush over without hesitation and embrace Abigail tightly.
On the stage, Abigail seemed to feel his gaze and looked in his direction.
She smiled, seemingly satisfied with her performance tonight.
When she stepped down from the stage, she heard thunderous applause and excited cheers from the audience section.
Many eyes were on her.
Some were envious, impressed, jealous, and... resentful.
Abigail seemed to sense something and suddenly turned her head to look at the audience, where she saw Jessica and Allison staring at her.
She curled her lips meaningfully and went backstage with her dress in hand.
That glance, though seemingly plain, made Allison's heart inexplicably nervous.
Abigail wouldn't come to find her, would she?
"Jessica, what do we do now? Abigail knows that I locked her up."
She was starting to regret it now.
If she had known that Abigail would be able to get out and finish the performance smoothly, she wouldn't have talked to her.
Now, with Abigail's temper, she definitely won't let her off easily.
Jessica looked at her arm, which had been bruised from being grabbed. She furrowed her brows, wanting to shake it off but forcing herself to hold back.
She took a deep breath and immediately showed a worried expression. "Allison, don't panic for now. It should be fine. Didn't you say she had no evidence?"
Allison pursed her lips. "But I'm still a bit nervous."
Jessica fell silent, feeling anxious herself.
For some reason, she always had a sense of foreboding.
"Allison, I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable. Let's go back first." Jessica grabbed Allison's hand, stood up, and prepared to leave.
Just then, the host on stage finished his last sentence and prepared to thank everyone.
The Principal suddenly looked in their direction. "Allison, don't leave yet. I have something to ask you."
Allison's body stiffened, and she looked at Jessica for help. "Jessica, what do I do? Did they find out?"
Jessica was also afraid. After all, the Principal never paid attention to the students, and Allison must have been discovered.
But with so many eyes watching them, they couldn't pretend not to hear.
She could only give Allison a gaze, telling her to stay calm.
The Principal stood up, glanced at them, and said coldly, "Come with me to the principal's office."
There were too many students gathered here, and it needed to be more quiet. It could have been a better place to discuss matters.
Moreover, the Principal had ulterior motives.
Many important figures from the industry came Today, and this matter should be discussed in front of only a few people; otherwise, Aramore University's reputation would be ruined.
Allison and Jessica exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with shock and helplessness, but they could only follow along.
After arriving at the Principal's office, the Principal didn't immediately speak but poured himself a cup of coffee.
Now, Allison and Jessica became even more nervous.
Jessica's palms gradually began to sweat, and she asked, "Principal, why did you call Allison here?"
The Principal glanced at her and then turned to Allison, "Oh? I thought you already figured it out."
Upon hearing this, Jessica felt a sudden jolt in her heart.
She forced a smile and innocently blinked her eyes, "Principal, I don't understand what you're saying."
"You don't understand? Then let me remind you, who locked Abigail in the fitting room? Speak up!"
The Principal snorted coldly, forcefully slamming the coffee in his hand onto the table, his eyes becoming sharp.
This sudden action startled both of them.
Allison was almost in tears. She gripped Jessica's clothes, seeking some sense of security.
Jessica nervously swallowed her saliva, visibly shaken as well.
Just then, there was a knock on the office door.
Gregory and Abigail walked in.
The moment she saw Abigail, Allison's heart skipped a beat.
Her face turned pale, but she still denied, "Principal, please don't falsely accuse us. We didn't do anything."
Jessica also chimed in, "Principal, did Abigail tell you that we locked her in the fitting room? Does she have any evidence?"
Abigail sneered, "When I was locked in the fitting room, I heard Allison's voice."
Allison glared fiercely at Abigail, "Don't slander me. I didn't need to go to the fitting room since I don't need to perform on stage."
"Is that so? Are you sure?" Abigail looked at Allison with a smile.
The Principal coldly stared at them, giving the final warning: "If you confess now, I can go easy on you. But if you continue to argue and I find out, it won't be as simple as just scolding you."
Allison and Jessica exchanged a glance, feeling a sense of foreboding.
But they still shook their heads in unison, refusing to admit anything.
