Chapter 413 Who Do You Like More, Me Or Our Daughter?

Darwin snorted coldly and said sternly, "You better keep your promise, or I won't let you off."

As Darwin spoke, his eyes grew sore. Despite his upright life, this was the first time he felt indebted. Mireille accused him of favoring Abigail, but it was the Worthington family that owed her.

Abigail saw what he was thinking and held his hand to comfort him, "Grandpa, I don't feel wronged. On the contrary, I'm very happy now."

Her mother was still alive, she had a father's love she never dared to hope for before, and even her grandfather doted on her.

But the more she said this, the more Darwin felt heartache. "Look at her, what a good child. Caius, listen to me, I'm giving you five years. If you dare to go back on your word, I'll expose everything."

Caius suddenly laughed. "I won't go back on my word."

After getting his repeated assurances, Darwin finally felt relieved. "There's one last thing, how do you plan to deal with Cassian?"

Caius said, "How else do you deal with a heartless person? He wants to inherit the Worthington Group? I won't let him have his way."

Darwin's eyes lit up. "So, you're willing to take over the Worthington Group again?"

Caius glanced at Abigail and said, "Yes, I will strip Cassian of all his positions and rights in the Worthington Group, and he will never set foot in Capitise again."

Darwin was silent for a long time before slowly nodding. "As you wish, just spare his life."

After leaving the hospital, Abigail held Gregory's hand and followed Caius, asking in confusion, "Cassian almost killed Grandpa, and you're just sending him out of the country?"

Gregory chuckled and ruffled her hair. "Do you think it's just about sending someone out of the country?"

Abigail blinked, her eyes full of curiosity. "Then what is it?"

Gregory paused for a moment, then thought that the Martin family was just an ordinary family before, so Abigail wouldn't know about these things. He patiently explained, "Do you think Cassian can leave unscathed after doing something so immoral? Losing a hand or a foot is the lightest punishment."

Knowing Caius, it would be far worse. Just like with David, whom Caius silenced for life and confined to a mental hospital. Whether David was truly insane or not, he was severely punished.

Abigail suddenly understood: Cassian deserved it! To gain more inheritance, he had dared to kill his own father. It was utterly inhumane!

Abigail pursed her lips and whispered, "We should only have one child in the future. What if they fight over the inheritance when they grow up?"

Gregory couldn't help but laugh and comforted her, "No, no matter how many children we have, I will treat them all fairly."

Abigail looked up with a knowing expression. "If we have a daughter and a son, which one would you prefer?"

Gregory was momentarily speechless. Naturally, daughters cherish their fathers and crave affection more than sons. Yet, he couldn't voice this, having promised Abigail fairness.

Seeing Gregory's awkward expression, Abigail's lips curved slightly. "See? Absolute fairness is very hard to achieve."

Gregory pulled Abigail into his arms, his attitude unusually firm. "I don't care, I just like daughters."

Abigail stood on tiptoe and suddenly kissed his thin lips. "So, do you want me more, or a daughter?"

Gregory didn't hesitate. "Of course, you."

Though he favored daughters, none compared to Abigail. Her contented smile showed she approved. If Gregory had suggested otherwise, she would have complained to Caius.

Noticing the silence, Caius turned to see Abigail kissing Gregory, making him twitch his eye.

He clenched his fist and coughed lightly. "What are you doing? Hurry up and catch up."

"Coming!" Abigail and Gregory exchanged a smile, held hands, and quickened their pace.

Caius originally wanted to send Abigail back to Quinn's villa, not wanting her to get involved in these matters. But Abigail insisted on staying with him, so he had no choice but to take them both back to the Worthington Mansion.

In a bedroom on the third floor, Cassian nervously clenched his hands and paced back and forth in the room. "What do we do? The person who drugged Darwin can't be contacted. They must have been taken by Caius's people. I'm finished!"

He believed Darwin's death would grant him more money and shares. But Darwin had already made a will, and worse, he didn't die!

Cassian said, "If Darwin pursues this, I'm really done for! What should I do?"

Linnea was also anxious. "I warned you not to take risks for now. We could have waited a few more months. Darwin wouldn't have lived long anyway, but you wouldn't listen!"

Cassian felt a headache and roared, "What's the use of saying this now? It's already happened. You better pray that Darwin and Caius don't pursue this, or we're both finished!"

Linnea opened her mouth to say something but swallowed her words when she saw Cassian's grim face.

At that moment, they heard the sound of a car pulling in outside, and their faces changed instantly. They hurried to the balcony.

Seeing the vehicles outside, Cassian's legs went weak, and he almost fell to the ground. "It's over, it's over! Caius is here! What should I do?"

Linnea gritted her teeth, trying to suppress her fear. "We must stay calm. If Caius questions us, we must deny everything!"

Just then, there was a knock on the door, and a servant called from outside, "Mr. Caius Worthington requests your presence downstairs for an important matter."

Marlowe, Emrys, Bruce, Orson, and Mireille were all summoned. Beside Abigail, Mireille saw Caius's grim face and felt a sudden foreboding.

She quietly moved closer to Abigail and whispered, "What's going on? Why does Caius look so upset?"

Thinking about what was about to happen, Abigail looked at Mireille with a bit of pity.

She held Mireille's hand and said softly, "Promise me, no matter what happens, don't act impulsively."
