Chapter 40 Predicament
Allison felt that Jessica's worries were unnecessary.
This wasn't the first time she had done something like this. She had been friends with Jessica since high school.
Back then, Jessica was even more timid and would often be bullied by classmates.
Every time, she retaliated in secret and was never discovered.
She believed it would be the same this time.
Before leaving, Allison suddenly remembered something and looked around cautiously. She lowered her voice and said to Jessica, "You must perform well this time. I heard that a big shot is coming to inspect Today."
When she heard this, Jessica's eyes showed a hint of surprise. "What big shot? Why haven't I heard about it?"
Allison said, "It's true. I overheard it when I passed by the Principal's office Today. I don't know who exactly is coming, but someone who can make the Principal so concerned must have an extraordinary identity."
A glint flashed in Jessica's eyes, and she immediately made a plan in her mind.
She gratefully looked at Allison and said, "Allison, thank you for telling me this. I will definitely perform well."
Allison smiled and said, "With our relationship, you don't need to thank me. You need to perform with all your heart, and it would be even better if you could steal Abigail's thunder!"
A determined look appeared in Jessica's eyes.
Whenever Abigail was present over the years, her light would always be overshadowed.
No matter how hard she tried, she could never surpass Abigail.
Abigail had become a nightmare-like presence to her.
This time, she must fight for herself and preferably defeat Abigail completely!
On the other side, after Abigail left, she went straight to the dressing room backstage.
Several people were still changing clothes in the dressing room, all preparing for their upcoming performances. For the time being, there were no available rooms.
She had no choice but to go to the makeup room first.
Fortunately, there was still plenty of time. Her performance was scheduled to be the finale, almost after everyone else had performed.
In fact, Abigail's performance was originally scheduled in the middle, but many people only dared to perform after her.
According to their words, Abigail's appearance and musical performance were simply amazing.
No one after her had any confidence to perform better than her.
So, everyone unanimously decided to move Abigail's performance to the end.
Abigail was helpless about this decision but accepted being the last performer.
After returning to the dressing room, there were only two or three people left changing clothes.
Abigail immediately found her dress and prepared to change in advance, waiting for her turn to go on stage.
But at this moment, a girl suddenly walked in and shouted, "Abigail? Someone is looking for you!"
Abigail was full of confusion. Who would be looking for her at this time?
Before she could ask, the girl vaguely said, "I don't know. Just go out and see for yourself," and ran away.
Abigail wanted to call her back, but she had already run far away, so she gave up.
She put the dress aside and went out, only to find that there was no one outside.
She stood at the door for a while to confirm that no one was there before returning.
She found it strange but didn't think much about it. As the show was about to start, she just took the dress and went straight into the dressing room.
The dress was a white gown with a lace design at the chest and scattered diamonds on the skirt, shining and dazzling under the lights.
Abigail quickly changed into the dress and looked at herself in the mirror, smiling with satisfaction.
But in the next second, her smile slowly faded as her gaze fell on the fabric seam on the side.
The once-perfect dress unexpectedly had a small rip.
Abigail raised her hand, her fair fingertips falling on the almost invisible, broken rip, her eyes turning cold instantly.
Perhaps it was because of her slender figure that the rip was not enlarged.
If she weren't careful, she would have worn it like that.
She was performing the violin, and her arms needed to be lifted.
If this rip burst on stage, all the teachers and students in the school would see it, and there would be photographers specifically capturing the performance.
Abigail dared not to think further and quickly changed out of the clothes.
Her performance was about to start soon. She definitely couldn't go on stage like this.
She had to find a way to fix it.
Frowning, Abigail carefully considered her options and suddenly remembered that sewing materials were in the drawer outside the dressing room.
Various situations could occur during the performance, and the school had made preparations for it.
Abigail quickly changed out of the dress and prepared to go outside to find sewing materials.
But when she reached out to open the door, she realized that the door wouldn't open.
Both sides of the dressing room door could be locked, so Abigail quickly realized that she had been tricked.
She suddenly became nervous, pounding on the door hard, hoping someone outside could hear her.
Unfortunately, she knocked for several minutes, but no one came to open the door for her.
She stood there in confusion, not knowing what to do.
Outside the door, Allison listened to the pounding and pleas for help with a malicious smile.
She played with the key in her hand, her eyes filled with smugness.
Hmph!
Abigail kept bullying Jessica because of her status, so it's her fault that she ended up like this!
"Is someone outside? Who is it? Jessica? Allison?"
Inside the door, Abigail faintly heard the sound of keys and pressed her ear against the door.
But then the faint sound suddenly stopped, as if she had guessed it correctly.
Abigail sneered and said to the person outside the door, "Jessica would never do something so foolish herself, so you must be Allison, right?"
Allison was surprised that Abigail had figured out it was her so quickly.
But even if Abigail had recognized her, what could she do about it?
