Chapter 473 Transfer of Shares to Abigail
After resolving issues with Emrys and Cliff, Caius gathered all the branch members at the Worthington Mansion. Anxious and fearful, everyone fell silent when Caius entered with Abigail, Quinn, Bruce, and Orson. The crowd held their breath, nervously awaiting Caius's intentions.
Caius sat in the main seat, glanced around with a commanding gaze, and said, "It's not easy for you guys to come here. How have you all been staying in Aerilon these past few days? If there were any shortcomings in the hospitality, I hope you can be understanding."
Everyone quickly waved their hands.
One of them said, "No, no, we've been staying very well, the environment is excellent, we don't even want to leave!"
As he was laughing, he suddenly met Caius's stern face, and his smile instantly froze, not daring to speak.
Caius softened his tone, smiled, and said, "Since that's the case, I'm relieved. But I believe you saw what happened a few days ago, and I hope you can take it as a warning."
Everyone tensed up and quickly nodded in agreement.
Caius took out the ring symbolizing the head of the family and said, "Since everyone is here today, I will announce my decision."
Hearing this, everyone perked up and looked at Caius in confusion. What was he going to announce? Why hadn't they heard anything before?
Caius took in everyone's gaze, chuckled, and said, "I have decided to pass the position of the next head of the Worthington family to my son, Quinn. Additionally, most of my shares will be inherited by my daughter, Abigail Worthington."
To be honest, Caius never considered himself a good father. He had hardly fulfilled his responsibilities to Quinn or Abigail. By the time he thought of making amends, they no longer needed his fatherly love. He had little left in life besides the Worthington Group and its shares.
Abigail and Quinn exchanged a glance, their eyes full of emotion.
Abigail said, "Dad, isn't it too early to say this? We don't lack money, you should keep it for yourself."
Caius shook his head, smiled, and said, "Keeping these shares is of no use to me, let you younger ones manage them."
He couldn't wait to hand over the company so he could travel the world with Michelle. She loved traveling, and he wanted to visit all the famous landmarks and tourist spots with her.
Thinking of this, Caius became even more determined in his decision and immediately said, "It's decided, you two don't need to decline. I'm handing over the company to Quinn, not completely letting go, but to let you gain experience."
Since Caius said so, Abigail and Quinn had no choice but to stop declining.
Naturally, the others didn't dare to have any objections, as they didn't want to end up like Emrys.
After explaining everything, Caius dismissed the group.
When only a few remained in the living room, Caius turned his gaze to Orson, who looked particularly downcast and travel-worn. Having rushed back early in the morning, Orson was shocked and disbelieving about what Emrys had done.
On one hand, Orson was angry, on the other, he felt sorry for him. Emrys had lost both legs and was expelled. How would he live the rest of his life?
Abigail looked at Orson, frowned slightly, and comforted him, "Orson, these things are not your fault, don't overthink it. Dad didn't completely destroy Emrys, nor did he restrict you from helping him, which is already very lenient."
Orson's eyes became slightly moist, and he bowed deeply to Caius. "Thank you."
He knew that in this life, the most important people to Caius were Darwin and Michelle.
What Emrys did almost harmed Michelle, and Caius sparing his life was already very lenient.
Caius nodded in satisfaction. "It's good that you understand. You live more clearly than your father."
Orson gave a bitter smile. "If there's nothing else, I'll leave now. Emrys still needs my care."
Caius waved his hand at him. "Go ahead."
After Orson left, Bruce also said goodbye and prepared to leave with Mireille.
Mireille grabbed Abigail's hand, her tone full of dependence. "I don't want to leave, Bruce, you go back first, I'll stay a bit longer."
"As you wish." Bruce let go of Mireille's hand and turned to leave.
Mireille watched his back and muttered, "Since Dad's incident, Bruce has become more and more silent. I don't want to be alone with him."
Abigail glanced at Bruce's back, unable to help but sigh.
In just a few months, Bruce had transformed from a playboy who flirted with her into someone entirely different. Abigail shook her head helplessly at the thought.
Wasn't she also constantly changing?
