Chapter 471 Emrys is not Darwin's biological son

Emrys stared at the ring in Abigail's hand in disbelief, shaking his head, his voice filled with unprecedented panic. "No, this can't be, this absolutely can't be!"

Cliff also looked incredulous, his voice stern. "Caius, as the eldest son of the Worthington family, you should follow the rules, not try to fool us with a fake ring."

"You haven't even looked closely, how can you be so sure it's fake?" Caius stood his ground, his gaze coldly fixed on Cliff.

Cliff shivered under his icy stare but tried to maintain his composure. "Fake is fake, there's no need to check! But the one Emrys has is undoubtedly real."

Caius sneered. "Are you unwilling to look, or are you afraid to look?"

Cliff's eyelid twitched, and he slammed his hand on the table. "How dare you speak to your elders like that?"

Caius took two steps forward, standing firmly in front of Cliff, and said word by word, "Cliff, I can let this go today, but now, you needa leave."

Cliff looked at Caius, vaguely seeing a shadow of a young Darwin in him.

He gritted his teeth and met Caius's gaze. "What if I say no?"

"Then don't blame me for being rude," Caius shoved the ring back into Abigail's hand and looked at everyone present. "The younger might not remember, but some of the older ones shouldn't forget, Emrys is not Darwin's biological son."

The room erupted in shock as everyone's eyes widened in disbelief. Emrys wasn't Darwin's biological son?

Emrys and Cliff's faces changed dramatically, and they quickly tried to stop him. "Caius, are you crazy?"

Caius snorted. "Yes, but even if I am, it's because you drove me to it."

They wanted the Worthington family head position, but he would ensure it never happened in this lifetime.

Emrys's face contorted with rage, his fists clenched tightly, and his eyes burned with hatred as he glared at Caius. How dare Caius expose this!

Just as Emrys was thinking about how to cover this up, someone from a branch family suddenly asked, "If that's the case, whose child is Emrys? Is he not even a Worthington?"

Caius gave Cliff a mocking look. "What do you think?"

A vein throbbed on Cliff's forehead as he pressed his lips together; everyone noticed his expression.

Some of the older people suddenly remembered something. "That's right, over forty years ago, there was a scandal in the Worthington family..."

As he spoke, a cold, sharp gaze swept over, scaring him into silence, cold sweat breaking out all over.

The situation was veering off in a direction no one had expected.

Abigail stared blankly at the scene, unable to process it.

Worrying that Caius would be bullied by the Worthington family, she had come but hadn't expected things to escalate so far. Emrys wasn't Darwin's son? He might even be Cliff's! The more she heard, the more absurd it seemed.

However, what Abigail didn't expect was that the most shocking part was yet to come.

Caius sneered and revealed the truth from back then, "You remember correctly, Cliff married three wives but never had children. One time, he got drunk and had relations with an underage girl, who then got pregnant."

As far as he knew, the girl was only 16 when she got pregnant. Cliff, worse than a beast, imprisoned her in a private villa to ensure the child's birth. After the child was born, the mother went mad from long-term imprisonment and mental control, eventually escaping and jumping off the hospital roof.

A reporter captured the suicide and posted the photos online, nearly destroying the Worthington family's century-old reputation.

At that time, Darwin, the head of the Worthington family, covered up the scandal for Cliff by taking the child home and raising him personally.

Because of this, Darwin, before his death, reminded everyone to spare Emrys no matter what he did.

After all, the Worthington family owed his mother too much.

But he didn't expect Emrys to be so greedy.

Caius said, "You want the inheritance? Compete with me openly. What's the use of these underhanded tactics?"

Cliff and Emrys felt utterly exposed and humiliated, wanting to flee. Emrys, in particular, burned with rage, ready to fight Caius. Although he had long known his background, being exposed in front of so many was unbearable.

Emrys retorted, "You say it's fake, so it is? My ring's real, and even if I'm not Darwin's biological son, so what? With this ring, I'm still the head of the Worthington family."

Facing Emrys's arrogance, Caius sneered, took the ring, and signaled Abigail. She quickly grabbed a small hammer, and with a swift blow, Caius shattered the ring with a sharp crack.
