Chapter 80 How Much Money Will It Take for You to Leave Gregory

Gregory and Abigail left the hospital in silence.

Abigail stared out the window, feeling lost and down.

She knew she shouldn't care about David anymore, but she couldn't help feeling sad.

Maybe she was never wanted from the start.

To David, she could never do anything right.

But Jessica? No matter what she did wrong, he always had an excuse for her.

The favoritism was clear.

Gregory seemed to notice and asked quietly, "What's on your mind?"

Abigail smiled and shook her head. "Nothing, Mr. White. David's greedy. Now that he knows we're married, he might come to you for favors. Just ignore him."

Gregory looked surprised and asked, "He's your dad. Isn't that a bit harsh?"

Abigail shrugged. "I'm not his only daughter. He never acted like a father, so why should he expect anything from me?"

Gregory seemed pleased by her response. He smiled and reassured her, "Don't worry, I won't let him get anything."

Abigail felt relieved.

David was always ambitious and would easily set aside his pride for benefits.

He'd probably try to use his status as his father-in-law to pressure Gregory into helping DM Group.

Even though DM Group was her mother's creation and she wanted it to succeed, she didn't want to do it that way.

She planned to take DM Group back from David on her own.

Back home, Gregory grabbed some clean clothes and headed to the shower.

Before going in, he leaned close to Abigail and smiled. "You have half an hour to think about my proposal from last night."

His fresh scent made Abigail blush.

'Half an hour?' she thought. She still hadn't decided.

As the sound of water came from the bathroom, her heart raced. Deep breaths didn't help calm her down.

She clutched her chest, closed her eyes, and told herself to stay calm. She had to stay calm!

Just then, her phone buzzed.

She saw a text from an unknown number.

Opening it, she was stunned.

The message read: [Abigail, this is Olivia. I have something to tell you about Gregory. Can we meet at the hospital tomorrow?]

Abigail frowned, confused about why Olivia wanted to meet.

She thought she knew everything there was to knowabout Gregory.

Whatever had happened between Olivia and Gregory didn't matter to her.

Gregory chose to marry her, not Olivia, and that said it all.

After Olivia's two suicide attempts, Abigail felt it was best to avoid her.

A woman who treated her life like a joke might not be cunning, but she was definitely obsessive—borderline crazy.

It was better to stay far away from someone like that.

Abigail didn't respond and turned off her phone, tossing it on the bed.

But Olivia wasn't done.

Two minutes later, another message came through, and it dripped with sarcasm.

Olivia: [Abigail, you don't deserve Gregory. You won't be Mrs. White for long.]

Abigail flared up in anger. Her fingers flew over the screen as she replied: [If I don't deserve him, do you? How long I stay is up to me. If you can take it, go ahead. If not, stop bothering me.]

The doctor had said Olivia couldn't handle stress, and Abigail knew she shouldn't have said that.

But thinking about Olivia's history with Gregory, she couldn't help it.

After sending the message, Abigail realized how impulsive she'd been.

It sounded like she was marking her territory, showing she cared a lot about Gregory.

She wanted to delete the text, but then decided against it.

As Gregory's wife, she had to stand her ground.

Olivia hadn't expected Abigail to be so tough.

Reading the provocation, Olivia was furious.

She gripped her phone tightly, knuckles white, and gritted her teeth, "Abigail, if you stand in my way, don't blame me for what happens next!"

This time, she called.

Abigail answered quickly, her voice clear and sweet, "Anything else?"

Olivia sneered, "Abigail, do you really think marrying Gregory means everything will be smooth for you? If it weren't for Grace favoring you, do you think you would have married Gregory?"

Abigail smiled, "If I don't deserve Gregory, then do you? You might be even less deserving than me."

Olivia, seething, said coldly, "Name your price to leave Gregory."

Marrying Gregory was her biggest wish.

From childhood, her only goal was to become someone powerful.

After entering the White family, she experienced true luxury and wealth.

Besides money, she genuinely liked Gregory.

Gregory, with his family background, looks, and ability, was top-notch.

At a young age, he took over the White Group, which was on the verge of bankruptcy, and managed it efficiently.

Such a mature, capable man was irresistible.

Olivia's initial goal of just marrying him turned into making Gregory fall completely in love with her.

But no matter how hard she tried, it was useless.

Gregory never paid her any attention.

Previously, Gregory treated all women this way, so she didn't mind his indifference.

But then he went and married Abigail.

Her years-long dream was shattered just like that.

And the culprit was Abigail!

Abigail was initially stunned, then laughed, "You think you can give me whatever amount I want?"
